QUESTIONS
In Ch.5, Â Lee, Neeley & Stewart review the benefit, purpose, and strategic development of (PICs) public information campaigns. There are many facets that are essential to making a successful campaign including, researching the issue, knowing your audience, timeline, goals, and communication strategy. In this week’s discussion, I want you to research a (past or present) public information campaign (from any local, state, federal government).
I would like you to thoughtfully review the chapter and answer the following questions in your response to this week’s discussion:
– Provide the purpose, goal and background information on the specific campaign
– Who was/is the audienceÂ
-Do you believe that the RACE model (Research, Action, Communication, Evaluation) was implemented effectively for this campaign? Why /Why Not?
– What was the action plan? goals, objectives…
-Audience profile? demographics…
-Campaign strategy, methodology, timeline…
-How attractive was the campaign and EFFECTIVE was the campaign and why? (outreach, social media usage, websites, PSAs, news outlets, etc.)
-What, if anything, would YOU have done differently? Think outside the box*
– In your review of your PIC, do you find these campaigns to be any different in methodology than campaign slogan’s for  political candidates?
