solved Think about your family’s culture. Â What are their views

Think about your family’s culture.  What are their views on education?  Do they support education for both men and women?  Have they encouraged you to follow your dreams?  How do you celebrate holidays?  Do you have huge gatherings with cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents?  What is your family’s relationship to food?  Does food play a huge part in everyday living?  What are their views about marriage and  child raising? Do you have family traditions?  There are many other factors to consider, but this will get you thinking.
In this paper, I would like you to examine how your family’s culture has affected your beliefs and your choices in life.  This is going to be an “illustration” essay, so your first step is to gather illustrations such as the ones I provided about my family that will support your assertions.
Your introduction might include a story about your family, one such as the example I gave of my cousin’s death being hushed up. Your body paragraphs should each make a separate statement about your family, followed by short examples or one extended example.  Your conclusion should tie all of the ideas of your essay together and demonstrate that you have defined your family’s culture.
An outline might look like this:
I. Introduction with “hook” (compelling story, perhaps) and thesis
II. Main Body
   A. Statement about family
       1. Example
       2. Example
       3. Example
B. Statement about family

   2. Example
   3. Example
C. Statement about family

    2.
    3.
III. Conclusion

Many families are very close and love to get together.  Not mine  I have a brother and sister, and we get along fine; however, we never spend holidays together, and we rarely even see each other.  I saw my brother, who lives in the next town, a year ago at my mother’s funeral. Before that, it had been years.  He once walked right past my sons at the mall because he didn’t recognize them.  I also have many first cousins I have not seen in decades.  For all I know they may be dead. There are no bad feelings between us–it is just my family’s culture.
