The glass ceiling in my own words, metaphorical a wall/glass blockage that can affect how a person who is of certain gender to not be able to achieve career promotions. businesses or upper career person can prevent a female to further their pay or education. Which is considered bias, there is no explanation as to why businesses or anybody would use the glass ceiling.
This often happens in the work force. I experienced this myself, the saying “men can do more than a women” which is not entirely true. For example, Sally applies for a job that requires her to be able to lift more than 50 pounds per day. Let’s say Tim applies to this same job. Sally is able to do what the job requires and so can Tim. Of course the person hiring is most likely to pick the man. Why? Because society makes it out that a man can do more than a women or Is looked at as “oh he’s a man, he’s a better fit”.

The glass ceiling is where the bar has been set. It is Michael Phelps with 28 Olympic medals. It is the Eagles, Michal Jackson or the Beetles, depending on who you ask, having the most record albums every sold. It is me being the best daughter my parents have. You must have something to compare your success to if you are going to claim being the best at it.
I looked up “glass ceiling” in the internet dictionary and this is what it says, “an unofficially acknowledged barrier to advancement in a profession, especially affecting women and members or minorities”. Well now I am just mad. Only women and minorities can break the glass ceiling!? Megan Turner broke the glass ceiling today by being the first women to flip off the internet dictionary for this meaning. My parents will so proud.
I can see that it could be hard to say which shoe company could have the best design as every person has their own idea. It would be hard to report which actor is the best, but you could report which actor was paid the most money for the making of one movie. What first came to my mind when thinking of breaking the glass ceiling was Willy Wonka in his Great Glass Elevator. He did have the first elevator that went not only up and down but it could travel in any direction and with the last button pushed it flew right up and out the glass ceiling. You can break any glass ceiling that you put your mind to I say.
