Introduction State a summary of a case from within the Ferrell textbook or applicable to a course conceapt. Then specify which one of the course concepts or theoretical frameworks you plan to use in your analysis: Stakeholder Relationships, Ethical Decision-making, etc.) 8Â
Analysis This is where the case you are writing about will be detailed and analyzed. Focus on applying the theoretical framework or course concept. You do not need to explain the details of the framework; I assume you and I both know them. For example: You can show that the culture of a specific organization emphasizes certain values and beliefs without defining what values and beliefs are. You can say the culture endorses wrongful behavior without defining what an endorsement is. Your analysis should be factual, not moralistic. The Business Ethics case observed behavior you are analyzing may be reprehensible, but you can analyze it without saying the behavior is terrible. You should remain dispassionate as much as possible.Â
Conclusion You have freedom over what you want to say in the conclusion. Some of you may want to address how the problem can be fixed. Some of you may want to say things you could not quite fit the analysis. The conclusion may also include food for thought or your own judgment about the case. Regardless, it should be short. And it should have at least one research-based recommendation on how you would have handled this situation described in the case.Â
References (Works Cited) Include proper references in APA format. Identify name of author, title of the article or book or podcast/video, and the venue where the work has appeared (title of the journal, newspaper, etc.). Remember that such titles are italicized. Include the issue/volume/date/page numbers. If you have used a Website, include the URL. Remember that your references must include some peer-reviewed sources. Complete reliance on news media will, in most cases, lead to a grade penalty.Â
