Assignment Background: Drawing from what we learned in class, you will design two measures for the K-12 Teacher Training program. Specifically, you will design reaction and result measures. Reaction Measure. This is a measure the teachers from your K-12 Teaching program would complete immediately after attending the training program your group designed. Results Measure. This is a measure the school (likely the principal) would evaluate 3-6 months after the teachers completed the K-12 Teaching program designed by your team. Directions: Please answer the following FOUR questions about the K-12 Teacher Training Program (designed by your team). 1. Reaction Measure. 1a. Define reaction measure, and describe why it’s useful to evaluate a training program.1b. Describe TWO advantages of using reaction measures and TWO disadvantages of using reaction measures.*Please cite any sources (e.g., textbook, article, website) used for this response. Failure to include citations will result in a loss of points. 2. Designing a Reaction Measure. Create a reaction measure (not exceeding 1 page) that the teachers would complete immediately AFTER the K-12 training program ends. The reaction measure should appear in a table. Remember, reaction measures are short, and it enables the trainer to determine what the participants enjoyed about the training. The reaction measure should not have any more than TEN questions. Further, it should include both closed-ended and open-ended questions. *Textbook Resource: Reaction measures are discussed on pps. 252 – 255 and an example of a reaction measure can be found on pp. 255 – Table 6.2 in the Noe textbook, 7th edition). Define the results measure, and describe why it’s useful to evaluate a training program.3b. Describe TWO advantages of using results measures and TWO disadvantages of using results measures.*Please cite any sources (e.g., textbook, article, website) used for this response. Failure to include citations will result in a loss of points. 4. Designing a Results Measure. 4a. Explain and describe TWO results measures that should be used to evaluate the teachers’ performance AFTER they complete the training program designed by your team. Make sure your response includes a rationale about why you selected those two results measures. 4b. Explain why it’s important to collect both reaction and results measures to evaluate the teacher training program.
