Comprehensive Program Plan
Assignment 2 – 5 will make up four parts of a comprehensive Program plan. This is to be a professionally written plan. You work should be clean, crisp and above else meet the rubric requirements for each assignment. All written material should be well developed, clear, accurate and concise. You will develop your program plan from the perspective of a recreation or sport entity that you have created/made up (government parks and recreation agency, non-profit service provider, youth sports program, recreation therapy, etc.). You may use a preexisting entity to mirror your agency off of, but I do want you to create your own agency. While the agency might be made up, it must exist in our world at the present time meaning no programs for the early 1800s, no future or programs based on outer space (yes sadly I do have to specify these things).
Assignment 3 – Part 2 of 4 of the Comprehensive Program Plan – Stage B, Targeted Program Development
Points: 40
Stage B, Targeted Program Development
Participant Input
Describe the demographic, economic, social, political, and technological character of the community for whom you are programming (5 points). Clearly describe how you would assess your target population’s leisure needs, interests and desires and their willingness to participate (5 points). In a paragraph or two, link these findings to the agency’s philosophy, organizational structure, and goals (5 points). That is, what is your agency’s rationale for developing these programs for this population – or how do these programs implement the agency’s mission.
Program Goals and Program design
You must develop three programs. Collectively these programs and activities must all be different program formats (See figure 3.2 in the text) and one of them must be a special event (3 points, 1 point each). You must also make certain to include at least three different activity types (e.g. sports, drama, mental activity, etc. [See Table 5.3 in your text for examples]) (3 points, 1 point each). Each of the THREE programs should contain: the name of the program (3 points, 1 point each), a brief statement of the need for the program (link this to your needs assessment [3 points, 1 point each]), the target population (3 points, 1 point each), and program management goals (3 points, 1 point each). You will need to develop One of these programs more fully by also providing program design goals (i.e., Participant Outcomes [Y statement] (3 points, 1 point each) and Programmer interventions [X statements] (3 points, 1 point each) and an animation plan complete with frames and transitions (3 points) [See Figure 11.5 in the text for further examples])This table is designed to help you organize your thoughts; it should not be included in your project.
