solved Assignment: Does Ignoring Race Fix Racism? Watch the accompanying video
/in /by adminAssignment: Does Ignoring Race Fix Racism? Watch the accompanying video and thoroughly address the following questions:1. What does it mean to be racially color blind? What are the assumptions of color-blindness? Evaluate the validity of these assumptions. 2. We observe differences from a young age and create categories. Society is structured around many of these categories. What happens if we try to suppress certain categories? Think about your own racial/ethnic identity—or any part of your identity—what if you were told it didn’t matter? How would it impact you? 3. Color-blindness is offered as a solution to racism. Can color-blindness solve racism? Why or why not? What other reasons did the video pose as reasons people promote color-blindness? Discuss the validity. 4. If being color-blind is not the solution to racism, then what is? How can we see color and not ignore our own or others’ identity without racism and discrimination?Color-blind Racism

/in /by adminAfter reading “Seeing,” select one sentence from Dillard’s piece. It should be one that you find interesting, memorable, or essential in the essay. Then write a 350-450 word exploration or analysis of it that does the following: 1.) Accurately reproduces (directly quotes) the sentence with a page number. 2.) Explains why this sentence is interesting or essential and how it fits into Dillard’s essay as a whole. To do this, you may wish to consider some of these questions: What about it is noteworthy or attention-getting or necessary? How does it work in the essay? For example, does it provide an introduction to a topic? Open up a new angle on a topic already discussed? Show how the author thinks? Complicate our notions about something? Offer a poetic meditation or encapsulate an worthwhile idea? Build an essential piece of the structure? Establish a key image? Make an argument? Open up a new way of thinking for you? If the latter, what thoughts does it spark?

solved If I had to choose between Plato’s two extremes, I
/in /by adminIf I had to choose between Plato’s two extremes, I think I would rather be perceived as an ethical person with a reputation for injustice. As a leader of a big corporation, I can see how employees at lower levels may not see the ethical thoughts of their leaders, just the actions, which could screw with their perception of leadership. Though choosing to be an unethical person with a good reputation would likely be better for the bottom line, it is more important to me that I would be an ethical person. Ethical actions would be evident to those closest to me, and I do believe that this information could trickle down in a company, though not always quickly or easily. I can relate this to taking care of children. When correcting a child, that child may only see their parent reprimanding them. They may not understand the reasoning behind it, like keeping them safe, stopping them from hurting themselves, or making sure they grow up into well-adjusted human beings.
