Explore in-depth the Thomas Theorem. Research the Thomas Theorem, look at sources outside of the text book. Once you have a grasp on what the Theorem states answer the following scenarios:

Relate the Thomas Theorem to the concept of a teacher believing a student is more intelligent than they really are.  How will this interaction be different from other students? Is this theory a beneficial theory or a detrimental theory… Why?
Explain how the theory is used in law enforcement; especially in regard to hostile subjects or subjects with mental disability. Is the theory beneficial or detrimental… why

Students are supposed to read the attached Case 2- Able Planet. Based on your understanding of the case and basic concepts of Entrepreneurship.

1. Experts say that entrepreneurs who need between $100,000 and $3 million often face the greatest obstacles when raising capital for their businesses. Why?

Finish your reading of Walden by Thoreau, from the chapter “The Ponds” until the end of the book. Consider the following passage from the text: “A lake is the landscape’s most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth’s eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature. The fluviatile trees next the shore are the slender eyelashes which fringe it, and the wooded hills and cliffs around are its overhanging brows” (Thoreau). How does Thoreau view Walden Pond/Lake? What does it mean to him? What is Thoreau’s larger message to society from living at Walden? Remember to include at least three quotations from the text to support your answer.
