According to Goleman, the six different leadership prototypes are as follows: the visionary, the coach, the affiliative, the democratic, the pacesetter, and the commander. Each different prototype has a different style and different sets of values depending on the type. For example, democratic leaders seek participation from the team they lead and look for team consensus when it comes to making decisions. The commander type, however, makes it clear that the leader is the one in charge, period. They expect that whatever they say or do goes without any input from the team.
I believe that there could be others types added to Goleman’s list depending on the type of leadership from the one in charge. If the one in charge is a very hands-off, laissez-faire type leader, I believe it could open up a couple different styles rather than those who tend to take a more active role in leading.

Hi Class,
Hope everyone is having a great week. In the text It was talked about Goleman’s six leadership prototypes here are the 6 listed out.
Visionary- someone who brings people together using the same vision.
Coach- challenged and closely supervised.
Affiliative- I see this one as a cheerleader. someone who encourages all and works for the same goal.
Democratic- seek active participation from everyone and consensus decisions
Pacesetter- Works by example and expects everyone to follow.
Commander- gives clear orders and expects everyone to follow.
I honestly can’t think of any others at this time that I would add to this list. In the text it was discussed that it could be one of the above or a combination of any. So it really leads to many options for leadership abilities.
