About Journaling: Whether you want to be able to look back at where you started, set a future goal for yourself and seek a new path, or just deal with present issues, journaling helps you do that in a reflective way. You need not write every day. Journaling gives you a place to better understand yourself, to plan your goals, and to follow-up on goals. One pitfall of journaling is that it can become part of a log of your feelings for any one day, try to keep these types of emotional responses from being included in your business journal. (Journal writing tips are provided in the Internship Course Resources under Supplementary Material in this GAP course).
Now, as a personal note, those in the start up community, academics, scientists, reporters, philosophers and politicians have been using journaling both for professional and personal development for well over 2000 years. I have probably 5 or 6 journals going back over that 10 year period that I continue to refer to for inspiration, reminding me of ideas (….or mistakes!) It seems on the face of it to be a somewhat non-constructive practice, but I assure you, some of the smartest, most successful people (in history and in modern society)  have been keeping journals for most of their lives. Food for thought!.
Questions 2:
Research a current event that demonstrates a leader who is envisioning the future. You can use the Internet, electronic news agencies, print newspapers, books, or journals for your research, but the current event should be fewer than three (3) years old. In your post, address the following:
A summary of the event – at least one (1) paragraph.
Describe how the leader demonstrated “envisioning the futureâ€
Summarize how this could apply to your current work situation.
With regard to your personal experience:
What is the vision statement of your company?
Do you believe the company is truly directed by this? Explain.
How do visions manifest in different areas of the company (e.g., actions, processes, and so forth)?
