Abstract:Include these. Abstracts should be 150-250 words long, and briefly describe the research question, type of study, results, and perhaps implications for the field. This introduction will follow the usual prescription, presenting peer-reviewed findings that lead to the hypotheses. If your study is three-condition, hypotheses should include whether you expect an overall effect, as well as which conditions will have significantly higher, lower (or equal) means than the others. In other words, predict the results for the three pairwise comparisons. For 2×2 studies, there should be a hypothesis for the significance and direction of each main effect, as well as for the interaction. If you do not expect a given effect, you can hypothesize that one of your conditions will have no effect, or that there will be no interaction. The introduction should contain at least three peer-reviewed findings that support the study hypotheses. The hypotheses should be stated at the end of the introduction.
