solved As we reach the end of the course, we’ve read
As we reach the end of the course, we’ve read a number of different pieces about child labour — and, our authors have offered varying perspectives when discussing child labour issues. Most notably, we’ve now spent extensive time reading Sanghera’s (2016) perspectives on rights and policies and Taft’s (2019) research-based ethnography. Imagine Sanghera and Taft sitting down together over coffee after both attending a Child Rights & Labour Conference…identify two points upon which you think both Sanghera and Taft would agree, and identify one point upon which you think they might disagree. In other words, where do their ideas about child labour converge and where do they diverge? What else strikes you as interesting in terms of Taft’s focus on children’s activism amid the Working Children’s Movement?Use these questions as prompts, and feel free to discuss other relevant subjects or themes if you like.
