solved For this assignment, you’re going to create an audio-visual slideshow
For this assignment, you’re going to create an audio-visual slideshow of your research project. It should be 12-15 minutes in length, and use at minimum 15-20 slides (you are welcome to include more, but you must keep the presentation under 15 minutes). Your presentation will guide your audience through your thesis argument. You will narrate your ideas as you advance through the visual information on your slides.>>>For a student example of a presentation, watch and listen to “The American Arab & The American Muslim: (Links to an external site.)How Media Impacts Lived Experience, (Links to an external site.)” by Sundos El-Naser.Sundos provides a good model for this presentation. You’ll see that she begins with a personal introduction of herself, which is directly related to her research topic. She delivers a finely scripted narration to take us through her thesis argument. She uses well-chosen images to support her narration. Her argument is compelling, and one big reason is her artful presentation. Notice that she has very little text on her slides and not a single slide with bullet points. These are two of my requirements for this presentation assignment. Please follow her example. Please read HOW TO DESIGN YOUR SLIDESActions for a detailed list of those requirements. If you submit a presentation full of text and bullet points, you will lose 50% of the points for this assignment. An additional requirement: no slide can be displayed for more than 60 seconds. Typically 45 seconds or less is optimal. To accomplish this, you’ll need to compose a concise, efficient script for your narration. This assignment is going to require some planning. I have created numerous slideshow presentations–some over 100 slides–and I often start by drawing a column of boxes on a sheet of paper. Next to the boxes, I have two categories. The first category is: what piece of information do I need to communicate? What idea, or evidence do I need to present to my audience? The second category is: what image accomplishes that? In this category, I pick the visual image (a photograph, quote, graph, chart, screen shot, etc.) that communicates that idea or evidence. This assignment requires you to use some technology. You’ve got to assemble images and audio into a file. PowerPoint readily allows you to do this, as does Google Slides, Prezi, and numerous others. Whatever platform you want to use, you’ll find innumerable instructional videos on YouTube.
