What are some of the challenges these women face with navigating the coming of emancipation and how does this strengthen the ways in which we understand Black women at this time? Select two women who have dissimilar experiences at this time, provide a brief overview of their realities, and then discuss how their existence/actions might strengthen their individual and community’s experiences at this time.
