*** Make a Comment***The QUAD council is a coalition of 4 nursing organizations with primary focus on public health nursing. The members include the Association of Community Health Nursing Educators; the Association of Public Health Nursing; the Public Health Nursing section of the American Public Health Association; and the Council on Economics and Practice of the American Nurses’ Association. They review and revise the competencies for public health nursing practice, education, and research, working ensure that PHN conforms with the public health science and practices (Swider, S. et al., 2013). One of the problems facing nurses today is issue the issue of staff shortage and long hours. While the organizations are cutting cost to meet their budgets, nurses are being reduced and the few left are being over worked. The QUAD will assist in creating evidence-based practice that will assist the nurse work efficiently and effectively, to protect and improve patient health outcome, and the quad can act on the staff behalf detailing the dangers of understaffing to the patient and the nurse that can jeopardize safety for the nurse and the public. Using teamwork will improve efficiency as different groups will be working according to their various roles. Other problem is healthcare associated infections, food safety, heart disease and stroke to mention few. The foodborne contributes to 3,000 deaths in United States each year, with the cost it attracts of about $16 billion each year. The public health nurse plays role in educating the public and promoting food safety at the state and federal levels
