It is important that you provide a balance of your critical thinking and supportive in-text citations. 
Here is the question:
Following direction of the Supreme Court of Canada, the Canadian government passed legislation to support medical assistance in dying within a designated time frame – Bill C-14 – Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) which received royal assent and became law on June 17, 2016 (Medical assistance in dying, 2017, para. 1).
“Just as advocacy from outside mainstream medicine
brought palliative care from the margins to the center,
so has it brought MAiD into the mainstream of medicine.”
(Li et al. 2017, p. 2088)
On March 17, 2021, changes to Canada’s MAID legislation proposed following an extensive review of MAiD became law. The new legislation involves

Changes to eligibility criteria
Changes to procedural safeguards
Changes to final consent requirements
Changes to the data collection and monitoring regime

In the article Exploring the experience of supporting a loved one through a medically assisted death in Canada, Holmes, et al., (2018), the authors discuss their qualitative research of the experiences of loved ones and friends of individuals who have chosen MAiD. 
After reading the article, think about the following in your personal and peer response posts: 

What are your thoughts about MAiD in general?
Would you be comfortable as a professional participating in the MAiD?
Now take some time to imagine sadly that a family member or friend is dying and has chosen MAiD? What would your thoughts be about your loved one’s decision?
What would you need to know more about regarding MAiD to help you support your loved one who is dying?
