Question 1
Consider the project data shown in Appendix A.
Over the last 15 similar projects risk (R1) appeared in task A 5 times, resulting to an increase of task A duration by 7 weeks. Similarly, risk (R2) appears during task G with a probability of 35%, increasing the duration of task G by 5 weeks. Assume any further data you need for each task and illustrate your calculations as required depending on the questions below.
Please answer the following.
a)  Design the project’s network on the arc.
b) Â Which is the most severe risk?
c) Â Calculate the Risk Reduction Leverage for Risk (R1).
d) Â If risk R2 happens, how will it affect the successful completion of the project?
e) Â How long will it take to complete the project assuming a probability of 95%?

Assume that activities (A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H) are fully completed. Task I (7,8) is achieved by 70% and task J (6,8) is achieved by 25%. The rest of the tasks have not started yet.

a) There are 5 projects in progress in the organization you currently work in. One of the projects is experiencing delays due to lack of project management expertise and partly due to staff availability problems. Explain how would a Project Management Office be useful in such a situation? Justify your answer.
b) Assume you are the PMO head supervising a number of projects undertaken by your organisation. The project manager of a project expresses his/her concerns about changing customer priorities that result into cost reconsiderations and rescheduling of the project. How would you suggest to the project manager to approach and tackle his/her difficulties? Justify your answer.Â
