Stories and traditions are part of family identity. How do your family’s stories and traditions form your family identity? How can stories and traditions effect your family identity in the future?

According to your text “depictions of romantic love are often found in art, movies, literature, poetry, music, and other media, but they rarely detail the everyday interpersonal communication that makes successful relationships work (p.292).” Visualize a romantic relationship that you are in now or may be part of in the future; how can/could relationship maintenance strategies enhance your relationship?

You serve on a nonprofit board for an organization that is meaningful to you. One of your fellow board members responds to every situation faced by the board with reactivity. You do not want to leave the board. The reactive board member can only be removed by the general membership of the organization after a trial. Consider the class readings, activities, and videos. Given this knowledge, what is the most effective way to respond to this reactive board member? Support your answer with five pieces of evidence from class materials and your own experience.

Work through the five steps in section 3 “Your Turn” following the case study at the end of chapter 10. For this case study you are asked to imagine yourself in a family situation. This may or may not be a situation in which you would ever find yourself. However, for the purpose of answering this question, consider yourself in this situation and analyze this case study following the steps under section 3 “Your Turn.” Remember to support your perspective with concepts from the chapter and the class videos.
