Request: First you need to read the attached chapter 10 and the additional materials. After that choose to complete either 2b, or 2c (choose only one and mention clearly which one you are doing). Write the answer in a 4-5 pages paper, APA, Times New Roman 12, and include academic references (in addition to the materials I sent which MUST be cited) 2b. Read my publication on some suggested differences between small firm and large firm boards (of directors or advisors). Although more recently published, this was one of the first papers I wrote and will give you an idea of the quality of entry level research if you wish to pursue a PhD in the future. To meet the requirements, please write three paragraphs to accompany this reading. First, describe the connections between this paper and chapter 10. Secondly, given this paper is conceptual and not empirical (i.e., meaning it is only ideas and not tested with data), which aspects of the paper do you believe would be least likely supported by data and why? Third, what ideas do you have that were not included in the paper? 2c. Read research paper option number two. The other attached paper by Day and colleagues (2004) is an example of a much more rigorous study published at a very prestigious journal. The authors study leadership and some of the burdens of leading. I found it interesting that the authors were able to apply data from that National Hockey League. More specifically, they looked at player performance before and after being named a Captain of the team. In hockey, leadership is generally indicated with a “C†that is on the captain’s jersey. If you choose this article you can see what more advanced research looks like in academia. You need not learn/understand all of the statistics, but I ask that you write three paragraphs to accompany this reading. First, describe the connections between this paper and chapter 10. Second, describe all of the different types of leaders and leadership characteristics that come to your mind. Cite your sources as needed (APA preferred). Third, what do you make of the results of this study? Do you agree with their research and/or have any criticisms of it?
