solved The focus of the chapter this week is emotional relearning.

The focus of the chapter this week is emotional relearning. Sadly, at some point in life, everyone experiences a loss or possibly a tragedy. This can be emotionally and mentally damaging in ways that are not immediately realized. PTSD used to be disorder most often associated with those in the military. Yet, this is not the case anymore as it is recognized as a disorder other are challenged with as well. Anyone who has experienced a scary, shocking, or dangerous event can experience PTSD. It is paramount to recognize the emotional challenges related to an incident to begin to emotionally relearn. In turn, the brain must be retrained to grow past the challenges faced. Below is an article that lists different activities related to brain plasticity.

Resource: Train your brain – Practicing a new and challenging activity is a good bet for building and maintaining cognitive skills. (Links to an external site.)

For the assignment this week, review the article and discuss a chosen activity you believe would be beneficial (and why) for an individual that must emotionally relearn. Be sure to tie in the knowledge gained via your readings and research.
