The importance of developing prosocial, altruistic, moral, and achievement-oriented behaviors in children. The purpose of this assignment is for students to reflect upon their own prosocial, altruistic, morally relevant, and/or achievement-oriented behaviors, and recognize who had an impact in developing those behaviors. Draft a letter to someone who has been a positive role model for you in your own life. Include in your letter ways in which the model helped you develop prosocial, altruistic, morally relevant, and/or achievement-oriented behaviors. This does not have to be a long letter, but it should be genuine, reflective, and heartfelt. My mom is my role model. She helped me with my prosocial behavior because she told me to always help others and donate when I can. I donate clothing items once a month and I will never stop doing so. She helped me develop altruistic behavior by teaching me that you need to be concerned for people and animals and desire to help them without feeling like I am obligated. I am so grateful that she raised me to be so compassionate even though at times it makes me sad when I can not help people. My mom taught me to be morally relevant by telling me to always be honest with others and to avoid lying at all costs. She always taught me that if I lie that it will backfire. I am glad she taught me this because now I feel like I can be transparent without having to worry. My mom taught me several ways to be achievement-oriented. She taught me to be organized by planning things ahead, be positive even when I face hardships, be self-aware of myself by understanding my strengths but also identifying areas of improvement, thinking before making decisions, managing my time by making sure I get enough sleep and nutrition everyday. I am grateful of the woman she raised me to be.
