Throughout the semester we will write several smaller writing assignments called quick writes. These do not employ the writing process in full. They are designed to capture your writing at various moments in time.Prompt: After completing the lessons for Unit 4.1, write a multi-paragraph argument about why giving credit to others’ words and ideas is important. Things to note:Response should be in 3rd person (NO: I, Me, We, Us, You, My etc)Replace Needed Portions of the template to reflect your content (i.e. Your Name, The Title, Etc)Response should have at least two illustrations and explanations.Use this P.I.E. Paragraph Transitions (Links to an external site.) handout as a resource. To complete this assignment, we will be using Google Docs embedded into Canvas. Since this is the first time we are using Google embedded in Canvas, to access this assignment you will have to do the following:Click “authorize” and sign into your Google Suite using your Maricopa Gmail account or other Google account. If you have any trouble authorizing, try this assignment using the Google Chrome browser. Complete this assignment using a laptop or Chromebook, not your phone. Check to see if you have pop-ups blocked. (See the “eye” symbol in the address bar.) **NOTE: If you use Safari as your browser, there is a setting you have to adjust to be able to authorize and submit. If so, these are the steps: Safari>preferences>privacy>prevent cross-site tracking (uncheck this). Once you’ve authorized Canvas to work with your Google Drive, you will see the assignment. You are being asked to add content to a Google Slide. To complete the assignment you have two options:You can answer the assignment questions directly on the slide in Canvas, however, the tiny scale of the slide may be bothersome to you.You can click the blue link above the slide in Canvas. This will take you to YOUR Google Drive account. You can now answer the assignment questions on a bigger slide. When you are done, submit your work in Canvas by clicking “Submit.” (Even if you completed the assignment in Google Slides, you must RETURN to Canvas to click “Submit.”)
