Throughout the semester, you’ve been exposed to a variety of new technology that helps with the front end of the selection process – Textio, ZipRecruiter, and geofencing to name a few. Now, we’re at the end of the process- prediction models and selection decisions. We’re left with an important question to answer in light of the ways that human subjectivity and bias can influence judgments that are seemingly merit based: Can an algorithm hire better than a human? (Links to an external site.)After reading the article, how would you answer that question? Be sure to keep in mind the topics we’ve covered this semester insofar as they are relevant for this discussion.Do you plan to incorporate any algorithm-based technology in your own selection system (from recruiting to selection decision)? Which ones? Why do you think they will be helpful? What other questions do you have about algorithms, prediction models, or selection decision making?
