When talking about different cultures coming together, often people  use the word tolerance,  but that word still has a bit on tension  behind  it. While you watch the 12 minute ted talk linked below think  about tolerance verse acceptance.

In your initial post think about: Identify who one of your “others”  may be. How can you use the Developing Intercultural Communication  Competence section in the text to help approach the “other” to have  positive, productive interaction.
