Assignment: Evidence-Based Project, Part 4: Recommending an Evidence-Based Practice Change
The collection of evidence is an activity that occurs with an endgame in mind. For example, law enforcement professionals collect evidence to support a decision to charge those accused of criminal activity. Similarly, evidence-based healthcare practitioners collect evidence to support decisions in pursuit of specific healthcare outcomes.
In this Assignment, you will identify an issue or opportunity for change within your healthcare organization and propose an idea for a change in practice supported by an EBP approach.
To Prepare:

Reflect on the four peer-reviewed articles you critically appraised in Module 4, related to your clinical topic of interest and PICOT.
Reflect on your current healthcare organization and think about potential opportunities for evidence-based change, using your topic of interest and PICOT as the basis for your reflection.
Consider the best method of disseminating the results of your presentation to an audience.

The Assignment: (Evidence-Based Project)
Part 4: Recommending an Evidence-Based Practice Change
Create an 8- to 9-slide narrated PowerPoint presentation in which you do the following:

Briefly describe your healthcare organization, including its culture and readiness for change. (You may opt to keep various elements of this anonymous, such as your company name.)
Describe the current problem or opportunity for change. Include in this description the circumstances surrounding the need for change, the scope of the issue, the stakeholders involved, and the risks associated with change implementation in general.
Propose an evidence-based idea for a change in practice using an EBP approach to decision making. Note that you may find further research needs to be conducted if sufficient evidence is not discovered.
Describe your plan for knowledge transfer of this change, including knowledge creation, dissemination, and organizational adoption and implementation.
Explain how you would disseminate the results of your project to an audience. Provide a rationale for why you selected this dissemination strategy.
Describe the measurable outcomes you hope to achieve with the implementation of this evidence-based change.

FIRST1. Write a report, a literature review (@ 150 – 200 words), of the philosophical scene in your selected area using your three articles as the bibliography. Discuss the philosophical scene as you can best ascertain it letting the three items be the representatives of the literature. Refer specifically to the items in your review by the author’s last name and the number in your bibliography of three which is to be displayed under the review. This is a mock review. A typical literature review covers a good deal more than just three articles. It is often a specialized review designed to keep a specialized readership abreast of what is taking place, or has been taking place, in their area of interest.A. Present the review (include a brief description of each article, cite the author(s) by last name and number in the bibliography.B. Place your three article bibliography under your review.THEN2. Select one (just one) article now (from your little bibliography of three), the one that you have now chosen to examine further for Research 5 and 6, upcoming. Identify (state it) fully by author, article title, journal source, volume, date, page.and now further… Display A. copy and paste the abstract of the article, and…B. copy and paste the last paragraph of the article. Make sure the article is a philosophical treatment of a topic in the philosophy of “X”. (Note: if you have trouble copying and pasting the last paragraph you might have to type it is. But first, if you can copy but it comes out strangely, i.e. the format is not in a regular paragraph: take the copy and do a “save as” and make the file type “plain text”. Save, and then go to that plain text file and copy that. it should paste into your submission without any trouble.)Finally, explain why you believe your search successfully retrieved a philosophy article. Did you look the article over (not a book, nor, a review of a book or other articles)? Discuss more fully the logic of your search resulting in that selection: how the search terms were used, in combination? Was the search refined (i.e., after one search did you go back and do the same but added in another search term to narrow (refine) the search down to a specific issue in the philosophical area of interest)?

For this discussion, please pick a pandemic you want to focus on (NOTE: You may not pick COVID-19, you will see why below)
please answer these questions..

Identify your pandemic. Please be specific- describe the disease, the rate of infection, and how the disease is primarily transmitted.
Trace the origin of your pandemic. Where did it start and how and when did it evolve from an epidemic to a pandemic? Are there any specific groups who were impacted more than others?
What methods were used to help control disease transmission? Has the disease been eradicated? If so, how? Again, please be specific in your answers.
What lesson did the public health community learn from this disease? What recommendations do you have for addressing pandemics in the future based on the history of this disease?
Are there any strategies that were used to reduce the rate of infection that can be applied to reducing the number of new cases (incidence) of COVID-19 specifically in vulnerable populations? Provide at least 2 concrete strategies based on past pandemic research to help reduce COVID-19.

5. Strategies used to reduce rate of transference of HIV would not work for COVID-19. As much as they are both viruses found in bodily fluids, they attack different parts of the parts of the body and therefore have different transference methods. Unlike HIV/AIDS, COVID-19 spreads through social contact like kissing, hugging, being in an enclosed area with an infected person. Therefore, using HIV disease-prevention strategies on COVID-19 would not be feasible. One of the strategies WHO,2020 suggested was to mobilize all sectors and communities to guarantee that every level of government and society is involved in the response and prevention of cases through hand cleanliness, respiratory etiquette, and individual-level physical separation. The second strategy was to develop vaccinations and medicines that are safe and effective, can be provided at scale, and are accessible depending on need (WHO, 2020).

The Homeless Patient Evaluation & Management Plan
The nurse practitioner (NP) is working at a health clinic in a homeless shelter during the early evening. A 48-year-old African American man approaches the practitioner and asks to have his blood pressure taken, saying that he has not had it checked “in a while”.
The man appears to be in some type of distress and experiencing pain. The man walks slowly, using a guarded manner, and he appears diaphoretic. His mucous membranes also appear pale. The patient’s blood pressure is 210/98. The patient reports that he has not been diagnosed with hypertension previously. The patient reveals that he has severe abdominal pain that is radiating to his back. The nurse finds a heart rate of 110, respirations 30 with shallow inspirations, and temperature 102.2°F. The patient’s skin is cool and clammy.
The patient reports a history of alcoholism, homelessness, and lack of access to health care. He says that the symptoms have been present and worsening over 3 days. The man says he thinks he might have pancreatitis again, which he had “a couple of years ago”. The NP recommends that the man should be seen at a hospital for his condition, but the patient says he does not have health insurance, so he does not want to go.
The NP proceeds with a physical examination, finding severe abdominal pain in the epigastric area, yellowed sclera, no abdominal distention, and hypoactive bowel sounds. The clinic is equipped with basic materials but no means to conduct lab or radiologic testing. Discuss the following:

Considering the patient’s homelessness and lack of insurance, what action should the practitioner take?
When the patient asks why his condition cannot be managed outside of the hospital, how should the practitioner respond?
When the patient arrives at the hospital for further diagnostic work-up, what tests will likely be performed to evaluate the patient’s condition?
How will the severity of the pancreatitis be assessed when the patient is hospitalized?
How should the patient’s condition be managed when hospitalized?
What patient education should be included after the pancreatitis is resolved?

solved One of the most important parts of working with parents

One of the most important parts of working with parents (or being a parent) is finding appropriate resources about a specific topic. Each of you will pick a topic to find 5 resources to share with families. Three of the five resources must be focused on school-aged children. You should have already selected your topic during Module 5 (if you didn’t email me and I will assign you a topic). The purpose of this assignment is to start building your own resource list of services you may want to share with the families you work and interact with. One of the most important tasks when working with families is providing them resources for the many challenges, concerns, and questions parents may have. You will start your assignment by writing up a short vignette about a mock family who is interested in gaining resources about the topic you have selected. There isn’t a minimum amount of words for your vignette you just need to give enough information to direct your search for resources and for me to understand your thought process. A successful assignment will have resources that have been well researched for relevance, quality, and have all the important information that a parent might want about that resource. If you are unsure about the quality of your resources, see if it meets the CRAP test (Links to an external site.). There is no “correct” answer, but there should be enough information that a family knows exactly what resource you are sharing and how they can access it themselves. There is no page requirement, but you must have at least 5 resources with 3 being specific to school-aged children. Finally, any discriminatory language or themes will result in lost points. See below for formatting suggestions. You must use Times New Roman and size 12 font.
