The ART Case Study presents a very different kind of nonprofit organization than the humanitarian and charitable organizations we studied earlier in the course. How do you see the difference between expressive or performing arts organizations and other non-profit organizations? Refer to the Toepler & Wyszomirski reading for insights on this segment of the nonprofit world.
According to the 2016 Theater Facts Report, only about half of the 131 “trend” theaters had positive net assets for the period 2012-2016. How do ART’s balance sheet and net assets compare to other large theaters in the analysis? Discuss whether ART has adequate working capital to avoid borrowing for operations. As a group the theaters had 52% earned income and 48% contributions. Based on ART’s 990s, website, and any other information you can locate, how do ART’s finances compare with its peers?
Discuss the tension between maximizing audience size and ticket revenue on the one hand, and the aesthetic mission of the theater on the other. What challenges are presented by the shift from a subscription model to more single-ticket sales? Do you agree or disagree with how Diane Paulus and her staff were meeting the challenges and balancing the tensions? Why or why not? 
Compare ART’s strategy to the New York City Opera case study in Worth. Based on the information in the ART case study and associated readings, how can ART best maintain both its vision and its audience? What are the most important variables for sustaining ART’s success?

Questions: As a security architect and cryptography specialist for Superior Health Care, you’re familiar with the information systems throughout the company and the ranges of sensitivity in the information that is used, stored, and transmitted.
You’re also expected to understand health care regulations and guidelines because you’re responsible for advising the chief information security officer, or CISO, on a range of patient services, including the confidentiality and integrity of billing, payments, and insurance claims processing, as well as the security of patient information covered under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA.
You also have a team of security engineers, SEs, that help implement new cryptographic plans and policies and collaborate with the IT deployment and operations department during migrations to new technology initiatives.
This week, the CISO calls you into his office to let you know about the company’s latest initiative.
“We’re implementing eFi, web-based electronic health care, and that means we need to modernize our enterprise key management system during the migration,” he says.
The CISO asks for an enterprise key management plan that identifies the top components, possible solutions, comparisons of each solution, risks and benefits, and proposed risk mitigations.
The plan will help create an enterprise key management system.
The SEs would be responsible for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of the plan and system.
The CISO also wants you to come up with an enterprise key management policy that provides processes, procedures, rules of behavior, and training.
The new web-based system needs to be running in a month. So, you’ll have a week to put together your enterprise key management plan and the accompanying policy.

TERM PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS
The Term Project is an exercise designed to have students do a “deep dive” on a Multinational Enterprise (MNE) and prepare a report which fully describes the various important aspects and functions of the business selected. The goal of the assignment is to allow students to see how a real-world MNE really works and why survival and success in the global business arena are so complex and dependent on good research, solid strategy, and sound decision-making by those in senior leadership positions.  The assignment requires that you employ critical thinking skills, thorough research, and the ability to organize your product to make it a readable, understandable, and most importantly, accurate reflection of the origin, history, strategy, and other goals of the business you write about.
    You can see in the course syllabus that you are expected to complete this assignment using one of two MNEs and following the outline presented in Week 1.  I’m actually providing you with a short list of MNEs (not just two) from which you can choose the company you want to research.  This list represents five of the most successful international business ventures operating worldwide in 2020 and 2021. They are:

      See outline below that lays out the categories of investigation that you are expected to conduct regarding the MNE you select for your report. The categories; Background, Environmental Trends & Issues, MNE Business Functions, Strategic Issues & Actions, and Outlook, are extremely important. If you follow the outline closely, you should find it fairly easy to do your research and prepare your final product.  As you can see from the outline, this assignment requires a substantial amount of work and organizational skill.  

Initial Post requirements
During the Lewis and Clark expedition, the explorers entered into close relationships with Native American peoples.  For the forum, respond to the following question:  Was Lewis and Clark’s overall treatment of Native American peoples during their expedition more positive or more negative?  Provide details of both positive and negative aspects of their relationship from the text.
In your initial post you should: 1) describe whether the overall attitude of Lewis and Clark toward Native American peoples was more positive or more negative; 2) discuss details from three documents showing how they support your argument; 3) discuss details from three documents that point in the opposite direction – explaining why their contents are less important.  Your post should be at least 250 words long.
Response to Colleagues 
You should respond to the posts of two colleagues. (Note: These will become visible only after you have made your initial post). 
In each response to a colleague, you should 1) discuss one point in their argument that you found persuasive – explaining the reason why; 2) discuss one point that your colleague might improve or think about – explaining your reasoning.  Each of your responses should make reference to supporting documents and should be at least 100 words in length.

You should use only the textbook, documentary, and the provided documents to respond to the question.  Whenever, you make reference to a document, you should cite it – e.g. (Document A).  If you use words directly from a document, you should use quotation marks.  Please note that it is usually more effective to put the argument of a document in your own words, and if you do include a direct quotation, you should always explain its significance.
