CASE STUDY QUESTIONS
Summarize the current issues at the primary care clinic that need to addressed and improved upon.Â
Brainstorm as a group to identify potential recommendations for improvement based on the case study, the prior analysis of the adjacent urgent care (and example provided) and your understanding of clinic operations.
      List your potential improvements:
Apply constraint management to the patient flow at the BFPG primary care clinic to determine how workflow might be re-engineered to shorten patient encounter times and improve productivity. Constraint management should inform decisions of when and where to invest in additional resource capacity.  Flow should be viewed through the lens of constraint management’s five focusing steps:
Identify the constraint
Exploit the constraint (consider idle time, appointment fill rate, etc.)
Subordinate all activities and resources to the constraint (Better synchronizing the current workflow around the constraint will improve the clinic’s productivity. Any workflow changes should address the issues raised in Step 2.)Â
Elevate the constraint
Return to the Step 1. and look for a new constraint
Your analysis should be similar to the one provided for the urgent care, although the clinic may lend itself to a more detailed one. You can use the potential recommendations you identified in question 2, if they help solve the constraint or enhance flow.
What other operational improvement tools that we discussed in this course, could be used to improve the flow of the clinic? You can use examples if appropriate (this answer should be approximately 1-2 pages).

/in /by adminCan anyone help me this question? As we read & discussed there are multiple theories regarding how persuasion works. I want you to focus in this discussion on the Elaboration Likelihood Model (O’Hair, 173/176). Watch all of the following video clips (a mix of different persuasive messages). Explain which clips are attempting to persuade using the central processing route, peripheral processing route, or if you think there may be a hybrid combination at work. Defend your position with examples from the clips. Tell us which clips you found more persuasive and why. In other words, were you more persuaded by the direct route, peripheral route, or if you think both were at play in how you were persuaded by the messages. Evaluate whether you were more likely to engage in central processing if the message seemed relevant, or if the designers of the message were focusing on accessing one route over another.Remember to submit all three posts in order to earn up to 10 points. /in /by adminAs indicated in the syllabus, you are required to complete a 50-pt assignment as part of the class. This will need to be original research and not something previously submitted to another class.
1. Select the following topic.
Attitudes(Job-Related)
2. Read up on the topic in the book (use index in the back of the book – topic might be found in multiple locations).
3. Go to YouTube and research applicable videos on your topic.
4. Select 2 appropriate and applicable YouTube Videos that you feel would tie in well to the course material. By applicable, I mean one that could be used as part of a class that would readily explain and illustrate your concept. Each video should be no shorter than 3 or so minutes and no longer than 10 – 15 minutes (I am allowing you with discretion here, especially on the high end).
5. Project output
Part I – Write up a two-page summary (minimum) of the material in the book related to your topic. Formatting instructions should parallel that of reaction papers. If you cannot come up with two full pages from the book content, you may pull in outside sources to supplement the text. Just make sure you site it as a reference!
Part 2 – Write up a good summary paragraph of each of the two videos. Make sure you include how much time the video takes up (should be no more than around 10 – 15 minutes, ideally). Make sure you include a hyperlink to each video. Your summary paragraph should briefly state what the video is about and why you think it is so good/applicable to the topic you have selected. A good summary paragraph should be in the neighborhood of ¾ – 1 full page.

There is no word count requirement for the discussion, but it is required to write in detail.ist posting: the postings might include a review of a new show you are watching, a new documentaryyou watched on social media, a critiqueofanews artifact (an article you read),an interesting story about a new technologyimpacting media,or your own experience seeing a new filmor playing a new game.If you are primarily linking to a story online, write a few sentences introducing the item and your interestor its connection to media studies. As an introductory course, the type of items or experiences you share will obviouslyvary widelyand my goal is to not narrowly define these online discussions.Second:I mentioned during the last lecture for this week on popular music, that I gave an interview to the Portland Press Herald about singer-songwriter Don McLean, famous for his song “American Pie.” I’m curious to hear from some of you all about this article. How many of you know Don McLean and about the recent charges he pled guilty to and the new abuse allegations by his daughter? How many of you did/didn’t know that he sang “American Pie”?Are there example of artists you listen to where you have to compartmentalize their personal lives (due to bad acts) from your appreciation of their music? Can you do that easily? And, should we separate art from the artist?Feel free to comment on any aspect of the article (I’m simply throwing out some questions). Here’s the article: https://www.pressherald.com/2021/07/04/american-pie-is-here-to-stay-but-will-don-mclean-ever-go-bye-bye.

/in /by adminActivity 9: Analyzing Communication Climates88 unread replies.88 replies.Chapter 10 discusses the concept of “communication climates”. Basically, it is a term used to describe the emotional tone of a relationship. Weather metaphors are a helpful way of describing the emotional tone of our relationships and give us an idea of the quality of a relationship without having to do an in-depth analysis. Examples of a communication climate could be something like: “Sunny” for a happy relationship, “Cloudy” for a relationship that is difficult or depressing, “Stormy” if there is a lot of conflict”, etc. Just imagine the weather outside on a given day and how it makes you feel and that is the similar comparison you would make in a relationship. That being said, below is an activity designed to get you to think about some of the “communication climates” in your own relationships”. Read the questions below and respond with a few sentences answering each of the questions. You will have until Sunday at 11:59pm to complete the activity.1. Identify the communication climate of an important interpersonal relationship using weather metaphors like “sunny, gloomy, rainy, calm, etc.2. List the communication that created and now maintains that “climate”. List both verbal and non-verbal messages like “complimenting one another”, “listening to each other”, “arguing a lot”, etc.3. Describe what you can do to either maintain the climate (if it is positive) or to improve the climate (if it is negative). Again, think about verbal and nonverbal messages like “asking more questions”, “making more eye contact”, “less interrupting”, “more smiling”, etc.

/in /by adminInstructions
This assignment will focus on developing a written sales campaign for a product of your choosing. To support this campaign, you will develop three distinct types of written business communications.Â
Select a product that you like or use. Using this product as a base, design and write the steps you would use to create a sales campaign presentation for your product that includes four components:
First, you will write a minimum of two pages based on strategies discussed in Chapter 14 of your eTextbook with specifics related to the product you have selected. Include the elements below the presentation strategies for your sales campaign:
Describe the four common delivery methods of communicating ideas.Â
Recommend tips for speakers addressing the media during the campaign.
Recommend powerful visual and auditory aids to be used in the campaign.
Explain strategies that can be used to enhance the effectiveness of the sales campaign message.Â
Second, you will write a minimum of a one-page business letter to your supervisor explaining your campaign. There is a sample letter in your eTextbook in section 14.3.1, or you may draft your own professional version.
Third, you will write a half-page memo (sample in section 14.4.1 in your eTextbook) to your co-workers announcing and outlining the campaign.Â
Finally, you will conclude your project with a one-page summary of what you learned from this writing project. Use real-life examples of how you can apply what you have learned. Include in this section any challenges you faced in the activity or feel still lie ahead in your journey for improved written communication.
