Each bond is unique when promoting socialization and conformity. Travis had mentioned that “the stronger these bonds the less likelihood of delinquency. (Alder 2018.) When reviewing the socials bonds we have attachment. The attachment has three forms with its attachment to parents, school, and peers. Next, is the commitment bond. Alder explains it as, “support of and participation in social activities that tie the individual to the society’s moral or ethical code. (Alder 2018) ” The involvement bond promotes interest in children and the belief bond is the person’s value system. When reviewing the bonds I believe that the belief bond can be lack in juveniles today. The reason why I believe this is because at such a young age these juveniles’ minds are dealing with a lot. They are trying to make up for what the world is giving them based on their situations. People base their values on real-life situations so these kids can have their beliefs change in a matter of seconds. When reviewing this bond it is so vague we can ask follow-up questions to really understand that child’s point of view.Adler, F., Laufer, W., & Mueller, G. O. (2018). Criminology (9th ed.).
