Discussion Question:1.) At this point in the course, what have you learned most about sourcing? 2.) respond to two student posts below ——————————- John BrileyBoth in this course on outsourcing and the warehousing and logistics program at large, a continual theme I have picked up on is the importance of building, maintaining, and preserving relationships. Maintaining strong relationships builds rapport and trust, creates a team environment, and contributes to overall higher productivity. In the case of outsourcing, having a good relationship with external suppliers is absolutely vital in setting conditions for success in meeting stakeholder’s demands. Having a good relationship with an external supplier can help the supplier better understand your expectations, your customers and your goals. They can better anticipate what your needs are, but perhaps more importantly, they want to anticipate your needs as a way to maintain a strong relationship. It seems as though lacking good people skills can be a detrimental downfall in the SCM industry.————————————- Matthew PratherAt this point in the course, what have you learned most about sourcing?Being able to have resources that you can pull from is essential in any business or company. Obtaining knowledge that your company doesn’t have from a outsource business partner will benefit your company’s progress in the long run. Even more beneficial is learning new ways to obtain your supplies at good quality for a lower price. Knowing what businesses manufacture the best quality materials at a low price will improve the company’s economic growth. Although some companies prefer not to outsource, they still use sourcing to obtain knowledgeable employees to work for their business. The ability to find and hire these professional employees will improve the overall work performance of the company.
