solved Scenario You are the director of an accredited early childhood
Scenario
You are the director of an accredited early childhood program. You understand the importance of communication with your program families and value the perspective of the parents and guardians, supporting the Developmentally Appropriate Practice guideline of establishing reciprocal relationships with families. Your program’s Parent Advisory Board (PAB) agrees with you and has indicated its desire to continue improving communication between the program and the families. Therefore, the PAB has assigned to you the task of creating a professional communication survey that will be given to the parents and guardians, to assess their individual needs and preferences regarding program communication.
Instructions
This assignment builds awareness of family’s desires and needs regarding communication between home and program, through creation of a survey designed to gather information from families. You will design a two-page family survey to elicit each family’s individual needs and preferences of your early childhood program’s communication system. Survey content must demonstrate your value of positive, meaningful interactions among the children, families, and educators toward promotion of partnership.
In Microsoft Word, create a two-page survey with questions that ask parents and guardians about their communication needs. Include questions that document each family’s preferences regarding early childhood center communication in the following areas:
Modality – how do they want to receive, retrieve, and share their information?
Types – what communication types do they prefer, such as via email or paper newsletter?
Frequency – how often do they want to receive or share certain information?
Topics – what types of information do they want?
Expectations – what are they expecting from their communication with the program?
For each survey area, you may use a rating system (such as rating each element between one and five, with one being lowest and five being the highest), multiple choice, or open-ended questions. Use your selected method consistently throughout your entire survey.
