Your second response or critique of another student should be at least one to two paragraphs and do the following:state what you agree with; state what you might not agree with; and, add something else to the discussion. It is expected that you will be on your best netiquette when you respond to either my of other student’s responses.I believe that voting rights are being challenged and may violate the rights of certain humans. There has been a lot of talk lately of the voting bill recently passed in Georgia. Many, including myself, believe that this bill will suppress the black and Latino vote. Many of the polling stations in the neighborhoods of minorities have been shut down, while keeping other polling stations open. This is a clear form of voter suppression. Lawmakers believe that if they make it harder for a certain group of people to vote, that they won’t vote. I hope the effected group of people push forward to vote and get their voice heard. Another form of suppression is voter id. This again is intended to stop the vote of minority groups. Although having an ID is important, it is not readily available to someone how may not have the fees to pay for one, or lost their ID, don’t have a valid state issued ID, there could be many reasons. None of these reasons should stop a registered voter from exercising their right to vote. Not have the money to pay a fee to get an ID should not determine whether or not I vote. Registered voters should be able to vote without an ID. Last but not least, one of the most bizarre and borderline crazy laws that was passed, was not being able to give water to a voter standing in line. Really? How is rendering aid in the form of water have anything to do with voting? I will probably never understand the rationale behind that law and hope that it is eventually struck down, repealed or ignored. If I saw a grandma in line that needs water, I’ll definitely take my chances.Tamela Reply to Thread
