He is a switch hitter, plays third base, and considers himself to be a power hitter. He has been following a 3-day-per-week resistance training program for the past 2 off-seasons but has not done any type of plyometric training. When you test him on his upper and lower body strength he is above average in all tests.Recommendations/Considerations: While strength in the vertical plane (squats, pull ups) and the horizontal plane (push-ups) can certainly benefit baseball players, baseball is largely a rotational sport. Therefore, training rotation with various medicine ball throws would seem to benefit baseball players and provide a method to increase bat speed. Implementation: Implement a 6-week plyometric program with this athlete in addition to his resistance training program. He will spend 10–15 minutes performing plyometric exercises prior to each of his 3 resistance training sessions per week. His plyometric program should consist of some jumping drills, such as countermovement jumps and broad jumps, as well as medicine ball throws, such as chest passes and overhead throws. Decide the main focus of his plyometric including rotational medicine ball throws, such as the lateral toss, two-handed put throw, wood chop throw, and lateral slams. Establish the progression of lower intensity and slightly-higher volume as the athlete learns the movements. As the athlete progresses in the program, intensity will increase. Speed of movement should be maximal throughout the entire program. Results: Determine and explain your rationale for the expected results of his training program.

solved Making an Argument For this essay, you will need to

Making an Argument For this essay, you will need to create a reasoned argument about a challenging issue that is relevant to many people. When you write an argument essay, you are creating a focused presentation of an issue and taking a clear position on it. In order to be effective in your argument, you need to explore the issue through research online, so that you can uncover support and counterarguments. You need to be bold in an argument essay, but remember that you are not writing an opinion piece. An opinion is by its nature not reasonable—in contrast, what you are writing should make your opponent respect you, even if he/she does not agree with you. You are taking into consideration both sides of the issue without any bigotry or falsification. Your essay must contain the following sections:Introductory paragraph that either gives background to your subject or states your thesis.A thesis embedded in the first or second paragraph. The classical position for a thesis is the last sentence of the first paragraph. As you probably learned from several of the models we read in class, in practice, writers place their thesis statements in a variety of positions. At least one colorful example of the consequences that might result if your position is not respected—i.e., something that shows your passion for your position. If you were arguing for abortion rights, your example could be an illustration of the tragic outcome of back-alley abortion, since you would be claiming that abortion will happen no matter what.Counterargument that shows your concession to the other position. (This can be its own paragraph, and you can include your rebuttal at the end of this paragraph)Three reasons why your thesis is accurate–with support (when you use support, you need to use MLA citation style and incorporate your evidence just as you did in the last essay.)A conclusionYou will need to pull in two sources from the De Anza College website. I will be showing you a few in class to get you started. My favorite is “Opposing Viewpoints in Context.”IDEAS for argument paper. You can argue either side.Pornographic material should be banned.Television ads serve useful purposes for society.Music recordings should be labeled if the lyrics are explicit.Professional athletes have no place in the Olympics.Terminally ill people should have the right to choose to die.Private cars should be restricted in cities.Experimentation on animals should be restricted.Smoking should be banned everywhere.Students who cheat in any way should be expelled.College athletics should not be funded as strongly as academics.College textbooks should be bought by the school and loaned to students.Corporate executives are overpaid.Adopted children should have access to their birth parents.

Build your own understanding of an employee’s work. Review the attached document, “Teacher Feedback Session – Facilitator Guide.” This is a work product provided to you by a manager in the Office of Strategy and Academics. The manager has performance concerns for the employee who produced this product and has asked for your consulting support. Use the resource “Central Office Success Profile Progressions” to help guide your review. The employee falls into the “Project Staff/Supervisor” success profile.
Draft an email back to the manager. Create a summary of your feedback on the work. Which elements, if any, are effective? Which elements, if any, are ineffective? How can the product be improved to meet the behaviors identified for the Success Profile? Craft an email (no more than one pages) that provides your insights to the manager. Offer to meet in person to discuss and plan performance management supports for the employee.
Prepare for the meeting. Craft a detailed agenda (one page) that outlines what you’ll accomplish together and the approach you’ll take. Be sure to include the questions that you plan to ask of the manager.

To summarize, you should submit two documents – an email and an agenda, in the form of word documents.

BACKGROUND BEFORE THE SCENARIOS BEGIN:
The District is led by more than 250 school-based and 160 centralized people managers. The Performance Management team is designed to ensure that all people managers implement continuous improvement structures that drive alignment between expectations and outcomes. This work enables managers across the District to respond more effectively to performance issues and allows us to strengthen our leadership talent pipeline. Our team provides technical and adaptive supports to managers to maximize the power of manager/employee conversations, feedback, recognition and formal evaluation.

The Assistant Director, Performance Management role therefore requires skill in setting a rigorous bar for high quality work across employee profiles, as well as equipping managers to leverage performance management strategies for staff development. The impact of our work will be continually measured via correlation metrics between quantitative and qualitative performance measures (such as student achievement and classroom observations), and survey results about perceptions of performance management structures across district staff. We use several tools to help build clarity of performance expectations, including role-specific job descriptions, Success Profiles designed to illuminate effective practices across levels of seniority, and evaluation rubrics.

This scenario represents situations that may occur while the Performance Management Team executes on this priority.

You will create this assignment following the Assignment Detail instructions below.
Review the tutorial How to Submit an Individual Project.
You are the president of XYZ Manufacturing company. You have recently learned about the following issue:
A month ago, the company’s general manager (GM) told one of the line managers to produce an extra 15,000 units of a product so that there would be inventory in stock for the next time the item is ordered. Last week, the GM scolded the line manager for having 15,000 units of the item in stock. The GM told the line manager that producing excess inventory costs the company money and should never be done. The GM then puts the line manager on a performance plan. This is not the first time you have heard about the GM telling an employee to do one thing only to criticize him or her for doing it later.
This employee feels very frustrated by this, but does not want to make a formal complaint because she has seen other employees lose their jobs or get demoted for questioning the GM.
Create an outline that proposes a leadership solution to this issue. The outline should address the following:

How the culture of the organization contributed to this issue
How the structure of the organization contributed to this issue
A plan to change organizational culture while maintaining the current structure of the organization
A coaching plan to help the general manager change this behavior and improve his leadership skills

The United Nations has continued to retain you as a consultant for a project that deals with climate and the environment. Most developed countries see the dangers of releasing too much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and are committed to climate policies that attain a carbon-free future in the next 30 years. They already see the damaging effects that this gas alone is having on the living conditions of crops, wildlife, and humans. As a result, many member states are dissatisfied with the progress of the eight Millennium Development Goals for international development that they established in 2000. The member states see a substantial disconnect between several issues that developed and developing countries believe are priorities. For example, Burundi wants one of the goals to focus on food security, while Austria is adamant that a major global issue should be the negotiation of ceasefires in countries in the midst of civil wars. The UN wants you to work from the list below and prioritize two of the global community’s threats that it deems the most serious to environmental stability 1. Select two threats. Listed below are eight issues that the UN feels pose the most significant threats to global security. Some of these apply to the Earth’s 7.7 billion people, while others are limited primarily to developing countries. Regardless of where these threats are concentrated, your job as a consultant is to identify 2 of them that you consider the most critical to the globe’s population. The use of fossil fuels as an energy source. Globalization. Insufficient educational opportunities in developing countries. A lack of access to technology. Civil war (NOT the U.S. Civil War). The rise in oceans’ levels. Covid-19 and the global pandemic. The dangers of poor countries remaining poor Write a minimum of an 8 page persuasive paper about your two threats. Write an introduction paragraph of at least one-half page in length identifying the two threats you have selected and the purpose of the paper. Then, for the two threats you chose: Identify the factors that make it such a serious risk to the global environment that you would choose to present it to the UN. Analyze the role that humans have played in aggravating this threat to the Earth’s environment. Suggest initiatives that the global community can take to mitigate the worst effects of this environmental threat. Write a conclusion paragraph of at least one-half page in length that summarizes your impressions of these risks for global stability. You must use at least 7 credible sources (excluding Wikipedia, dictionaries and encyclopedias) that are appropriate for the subjects under discussion. include a graph, table or chart using quantifiable data that supports your argument.

Review “Case 4.1: A Drill Sergeant at First,” located in Chapter 4 of the textbook, Leadership: Theory and Practice. Post a 250-300 word response to the questions located at the end of the case. In your response, be sure to address the strengths and weaknesses of the behavioral approach to leadership in this situation.

Case 4.1: A Drill Sergeant at First
Mark Young is the head of the painting department in a large hospital; 20 union employees report to him. Before coming on board at the hospital, he had worked as an independent contractor. At the hospital, he took a position that was newly created because the hospital believed change was needed in how painting services were provided. Upon beginning his job, Mark did a four-month analysis of the direct and indirect costs of painting services. His findings supported the perceptions of his administrators that painting services were inefficient and costly. As a result, Mark completely reorganized the department, designed a new scheduling procedure, and redefined the expected standards of performance. Mark says that when he started out in his new job, he was “all task,” like a drill sergeant who didn’t seek any input from his soldiers. From Mark’s point of view, the hospital environment did not leave much room for errors, so he needed to be strict about getting painters to do a good job within the constraints of the hospital environment. As time went along, Mark relaxed his style and was less demanding. He delegated some responsibilities to two crew leaders who reported to him, but he always stayed in close touch with each of the employees. On a weekly basis, Mark was known to take small groups of workers to the local sports bar for burgers on the house. He loved to banter with the employees and could take it as well as dish it out. Mark is very proud of his department. He says he always wanted to be a coach, and that’s how he feels about running his department. He enjoys working with people; in particular, he says he likes to see the glint in their eyes when they realize that they’ve done a good job and they have done it on their own. Because of Mark’s leadership, the painting department has improved substantially and is now seen by workers in other departments as the most productive department in hospital maintenance. Painting services received a customer rating of 92%, which is the highest of any service in the hospital.

Questions
1. From the behavioral perspective, how would you describe Mark’s leadership?2. How did his behavior change over time?
3. In general, do you think he is more task oriented or more relationship oriented?
4. What score do you think he would get on Blake and Mouton’s grid?
