Assignment Three
Read the case given below and answer the questions:
Halima, the owner and manager of a company with ten employees, has hired you to take over the HRM function so she can focus on other areas of her business. During your first two weeks, you find out that the company has been greatly affected by the up economy and is expected to experience overall revenue growth by 10 percent over the next three years, with some quarters seeing growth as high as 30 percent. However, five of the ten workers are expected to retire within three years. These workers have been with the organization since the beginning and provide a unique historical perspective of the company. The other five workers are of diverse ages.
In addition to these changes, Halima believes they may be able to save costs by allowing employees to telecommute one to two days per week. She has some concerns about productivity if she allows employees to work from home. Despite these concerns, Halimahas even considered closing down the physical office and making her company a virtual organization, but she wonders how such a major change will affect the ability to communicate and worker motivation.
Halima shares with you her thoughts about the costs of health care on the organization. She has considered cutting benefits entirely and having her employees work for her on a contract basis, instead of being full-time employees. She isn’t sure if this would be a good choice.
Halima schedules a meeting with you to discuss some of her thoughts. To prepare for the meeting, you perform research so you can impress your new boss with recommendations on the challenges presented.

/in /by adminDashboard ProjectIntroduction:You are to create a dashboard that gives the user a snapshot of key elements in your chosen dataset. Dashboards allow users to view several charts or other visual indicators on one page or screen. Dashboard examples and design resources are included on the course site. You will also want to view the video tutorial on dashboards.Assignment:You can use one of three provided datasets. Dashboard Details:You should build your dashboard on the first sheet and name it appropriately. Be creative and professional. Use charts that best represent the chosen data. Depending on how you create them, you should aim for between 6 and 8 charts for your dashboard. This can vary based on other visualizations you include, such as small tables with conditional formatting and sparklines. The data for the dashboard is located on sheet 2 of the project file. You are given several different types of data. You should not only use the raw data that’s given to you, but you should also use the functions you learned in class to create more meaningful transformations of the data. To refresh your memory, these functions include (but are not limited to) SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, STDEV, etc. For example, you could calculate percent changes in sales for each month, then create a mini table of the results, using either conditional formatting or sparklines to help visualize the data.Analysis:You will also need to write a report that analyzes the output of your dashboard. This report should be between 750 and 1250 words in length. You should use your Dashboard Plan questions to guide this report. In addition, be sure that the following are also addressed:What kinds of decisions can a manager make based on your dashboard (this should be based on the questions you developed in your dashboard plan)? What difficulties did you have in creating the dashboard? What are some improvements for future versions of your dashboard if you had access to more data? You Dashboard will be graded based on:Meeting the minimum number of charts (6) – You most likely will use more than 6, including at least one pivot chart that uses slicers. The meaningfulness and appropriateness of the charts you use.The layout of the dashboard, including the use of headings and subheadings, and the logical organization of charts. For example, charts related to revenues and expenses should most likely be grouped together. The quality of your analysis paperSee the rubric for specific details

solved Managing the multi-business corporation to meet high performance expectations is
/in /by adminManaging the multi-business corporation to meet high performance expectations is problematic. Publicly traded companies are pressured to return favorable quarterly results and as corporations grow larger and more complex, it becomes harder to manage such corporations effectively. General Electric (GE) was once one of the most admired corporations in the world. Today, GE is facing a much-reduced outlook. For this week’s assignment, read the case study found in your textbook (Case 20): Restructuring General Electric.Remember, a case study is a puzzle to be solved, so before reading and answering the specific case and study questions, develop your proposed solution by following these five steps:Read the case study to identify the key issues and underlying issues. These issues are the principles and concepts of the course area which apply to the situation described in the case study.Record the facts from the case study which are relevant to the principles and concepts of the course area issues. The case may have extraneous information not relevant to the current course area. Your ability to differentiate between relevant and irrelevant information is an important aspect of case analysis, as it will inform the focus of your answers.Describe in some detail the actions that would address or correct the situation.Consider how you would support your solution with examples from experience or current real-life examples or cases from textbooks.Complete this initial analysis and then read the discussion questions. Typically, you will already have the answers to the questions but with a broader consideration. At this point, you can add the details and/or analytical tools required to solve the case.Case Study Questions:Why was GE considered to be such an exemplary organization? (Discuss GE’s management systems and performance.)Discuss the nature of GE’s corporate portfolio under Welch and Imelt. Did the nature of GE’s portfolio under Welch and Imelt provide superior results? If GE’s portfolio mix gave superior results, why was it necessary to restructure the portfolio? Why is GE’s performance no longer superior? What are the reasons for the collapse in GE’s financial performance during 2016-2018?What should be done to return GE to higher levels of performance? Does GE need to refocus? Which businesses or products would you recommend abandoning or divesting, if any? Does GE need to make additional acquisitions to supplement existing GE assets?

/in /by adminDiscussion 1 (A) .Library databases, with journal articles, are a good place to start searching the evidence. Different search strategies help you to cast a wider net to locate the evidence. For example, look under several different search terms related your topic. If you are looking for research regarding child sexual abuse, add more than those terms in the search box. Search also for child abuse, domestic violence, child welfare, and so on. Breaking up your answerable research question into many different synonyms will help expand your search. You can also look at keywords that articles provide to give you more search options on your topic. For this Discussion, you will utilize the Walden Library Database to begin to locate research articles related to your research question. You will then provide feedback to use in their Assignment this weekPost:Briefly, describe the problem or population you are interested in studying.Identify your research question.Briefly describe your search strategy.Identify at least 3 key terms used in your search.Identify one research article related to your population of interest/research question.Provide APA citation for on article that you found.Explain how effectively searching scholarly research connects to evidence-based practice and benefits your social work practice. Discussion 1 (B) Ethics in Social Work Research. In response to numerous unethical research experiments, such as the Tuskegee study, federal law now governs research ethics in studies involving human subjects. When a social worker wishes to conduct research on humans, they must follow specific standards to ensure that no harm comes to participants and that participants are aware of their rights.Following ethical guidelines in social work research is essential to understanding best practice. In this Discussion, you consider the intersection of research and ethics on human subjects. You will apply research ethics when working with vulnerable populations.Post:Identify ethical issues in research and practice based on human values.Identify a specific population that has been targeted by unethical research.Explain the ways that mistreatment of minorities in research has been a major impetus for the development of ethical standards for research with human subjects.Describe how ethical standards in research protects the rights of human participants.Explain how the research identified by each colleague could have been conducted in an ethical manner.

/in /by adminRene is a health care administrator who works for an HSO in a large urban area. Because she was previously a health care provider, Rene is sensitive to the need for health care delivery that also promotes patient safety. As part of the responsibilities in working within the HSO, the board of directors has asked Rene about the needs of the HSO for fostering improvement initiatives. To that end, Rene suggested initiatives aimed at increasing patient safety in light of a recent report citing poor patient safety across all departments in the HSO. The board agreed and has made Rene responsible for developing a new patient safety initiative. Rene quickly communicated with several department leads to determine potential courses of action to improve patient safety within the HSO. A meeting to hear from each respective department with contributions on how to implement a new patient initiative is slated for next week. Several department heads and the board of the HSO have been impressed with the commitment that Rene has demonstrated thus far.
How are improvement initiatives put into place within HSOs? How might leadership and the approaches used by leaders contribute to the implementation of improvement initiatives in practice? As a current or future health care administrator, you will likely encounter improvement initiatives aimed to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of health care delivery.
For this Discussion, reflect on the scenario presented and consider the role of leadership for improvement initiatives in HSOs. Then, think about improvement initiatives currently in place at your HSO or an HSO with which you are familiar.
By Day 3
Post a description of the improvement initiative(s) currently in place at your HSO or an HSO with which you are familiar. Explain how leadership is related to the particular improvement initiative selected. Then, explain the levels of the integrated system of the HSO, and suggest two approaches that leadership might use to work within these levels to execute the improvement initiative you selected. Be specific and provide examples.

The managers at the hospital are trying to obtain some reports about patients and employees but are unsure of how to retrieve and organize data from the database. You inform management that as an INS you can query the database and display results about the questions they have. The managers return with the following list of questions:May we obtain a report of all the names of patients, doctors, and nurses in Phoenix Hospital? How many patients do we have in the facility that are male? What are their names, ages, and ID numbers? How many female patients do we have in the facility? What are their names, ages, and ID numbers? How many doctors do we have in the facility and what are their names, specialties, and medical license numbers? What are the names of patients being followed by cardiologists, the name of the cardiologist, the patient’s room, and blood pressure? What are the names, age, location, and education level of the patients being followed by cardiologists? What are the brand name and generic names of medications prescribed to the patients?Which medications did Dr. Atwood prescribe to patients?Which nurses distributed medications to the patient (ID Number 19 to 35) during the night shift from January 2019 to September 2019?How many patients were admitted to the facility during the month of November 2018 and how many during December 2018? How many patients were assigned to nurse Yuri Sirret? How many patients were prescribed Vioxx? What are the names of the patients who were prescribed Vioxx and had a heart attack? How many of those patients died as a result of a heart attack?Of the patients who died, what medication was being prescribed to them? For each of the management’s question above, write an SQL query that can be used to obtain the information they are requesting. Run the query for each question on the Phoenix Hospital Database. Take a screenshot of your results and copy to a Microsoft Word document. Submit your list of queries and results.Note: For this assignment, you will need to upload Excel files to Access and then run the queries in Access. For instructions on how to upload the Phoenix Hospital datasets to Access, read Move Data from Excel to Access. There are 4 separate Excel data files to upload to Access: Medications file, Nurse file, Doctor file, and Patient file. These will form the Phoenix Hospital Database once they are uploaded.
