Step 1:  Review the following scenario:
In this assignment you will focus on telehealth. You are the nurse  manager for the stroke unit at Gladwin Community Hospital. This program will provide support and follow-up care for stroke  patients who are not able to travel to the stroke clinic. The program  will also provide nursing assistance to local emergency rooms for triage  purposes. Additionally, emergency physicians will be able to consult  with neurologists and transmit CT scans and video of neurologic  examinations.
In order to receive funding for the program, it is beneficial for  those in the top level leadership to endorse the project. As the nurse  manager, you will prepare and present informational materials to those  in leadership positions at Gladwin Community Hospital. You will explain  the importance of telehealth and the benefits it will provide for the  patients.
Step 2:  Create a 16 –to- 20 slide presentation.

Socioeconomic Status on Public Health Financing Needs
A socioeconomic impact assessment examines how a proposed development will change the lives of current and future residents of a community. The indicators used to measure the potential socioeconomic impacts of a development include the following: 

Changes in community demographics
Results of retail/service and housing market analyses
Demand for public services 
Changes in employment and income levels
Changes in the aesthetic quality of the community

Quantitative measurement of such factors is an important component of the socioeconomic impact assessment. At the same time, the perceptions of community members about how a proposed development will affect their lives are a critical part of the assessment and should contribute to any decision to move ahead with a project. In fact, gaining an understanding of community values and concerns is an important first step in conducting a socioeconomic impact assessment. 
The socioeconomic impacts of a proposed development on a community may actually begin the day the project is proposed.
