What does Courtwright mean by the term “Psychoactive Revolution”? Roughly when did this revolution come about, and why do you think it happened over this timespan? What were the main forces driving the Psychoactive Revolution? How did the status of drugs, culturally and legally, change as the Psychoactive Revolution came to fruition?
In what parts of the world did the use of the opium, cannabis, and coca originate? And how did their use spread to other parts of the world? Based on the information from the assigned readings up to now, what factors do you think best explain why these drugs spread around the world?
For what purposes did people in the past use the “little three” drugs: opium, cannabis, and coca? In what ways did these uses persist or change as consumption of these drugs spread across Western Europe and North America?
Courtwright argues, in line with the nineteenth-century British physician, Sir William Moore, that “proximity to supply” was an important factor shaping global patterns of drug consumption. What evidence does Courtwright give to support this argument? Thinking more broadly about the historical and present use of drugs (including licit drugs like alcohol, tobacco, and pharmaceuticals), to what extent do you think this argument holds true? What factors might limit the consumption of a drug that is locally available?
In what parts of the world were drugs like betel, kava, qat, and hallucinogenic plants consumed and for what purposes? Using a few key examples, explain why these drugs never spread beyond their regional cultural enclaves to become major global drugs like the “little three” (opium, cannabis, coca) or the “big three” (alcohol, tobacco, caffeine). Do you think this is changing today as more obscure drugs become known through global migration and available through vendors online?

solved After reading this week’s play by Padilla, I feel like

After reading this week’s play by Padilla, I feel like the change that is being called for is the situation the writer feels is an issue—and that is that the writer believes there exists a rape culture in today’s worlds.  The writes makes this plain when she narrates instances in which her characters behave in a way that, although horrifying, are indicative that association with rape culture has been normalized within society.  An example of this is when Susannah was assaulted and those around who had witnesses the ongoing did nothing to stop the occurrence.  This suggests that people have become horrifying accustomed to horrendous acts such as these.
The costs, as are portrayed in the play, consist of instances where the futures of the perpetrators, which Padilla generalized it on men, seem to be viewed as more valuable than those of women.  In this way, people would be hesitant as to ruin these possible bright futures.  Further, the hesitation of not being believed by others regarding the assault is another obstacle that prevents these accusations from taking place.  Other costs not associated with the victims are those belonging to witnesses, and the guilt that they carry after having witnesses these sexual assaults and having done nothing to prevent them or making them right by taking steps to seek justice.
As the article below puts it, rape culture is the normalization of behavior which seeks to undermine justice and correcting assaults of sexual nature within a society.  This implies that sexual assaults would go unpunished by perpetrators and the existence of victim blaming exists which would suggest that the fault of being assaulted of raped falls on the victims.  I see this being reflected in Padilla’s play by witnesses of these assaults standing aside and letting them occur and not aiding to stop or correct them.

Instructions
For this assignment, use the film The Matrix to think about ethical action. Explain the three
philosophical concepts clearly, using the philosophical texts, and then apply them to the film by
responding to the essay prompt questions. Your analysis must include one citation from Plato’s
Apology, one citation from Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics, and one citation from Sartre’s essay
on bad faith.
Essay Prompt
Use the film to explain these three philosophical concepts. You can choose any characters or
scenes from the film to help you explain what these philosophical concepts mean.
(1) What does Socrates mean when he says “the unexamined life is not worth living”? (2) What is the difference between voluntary and involuntary action? (3) What does “bad faith” mean for Sartre?
For example, you might use Morpheus as an example in explaining Socrates’ argument that the
unexamined life is not worth living—carefully explain, in detail, what the examined life means
for Socrates, and how Morpheus might be seen as an example of someone living the examined
life. For voluntary and involuntary action, choose any character and action from the film and
explain how their action might be involuntary through either force or ignorance, using
Aristotle’s criteria. For bad faith, choose a character to analyze and show how they are in bad
faith (like Cipher, or perhaps Agent Smith) or choose a character and demonstrate how they
avoid bad faith by acting authentically (like Trinity, Neo, Morpheus, etc). You may use your own writing from the discussion forums, but please do not simply cut and
paste—make sure your essay reads as a coherent and organized whole.
Be sure to explain all three philosophical concepts in detail, using the philosophical texts—this
is a primary objective of the assignment!
Avoid plot summary and assume all readers are very familiar with the film.

solved Kendra Reynolds has just become a manager at a manufacturing

Kendra Reynolds has just become a manager at a manufacturing company. The performance in her unit has declined recently, and she needs to fix it. When she arrives, she finds unused capacity and that excess inventory is backing up. She begins trying to understand the problem, but the answer is not obvious. A colleague mentions that throughput accounting may help her analyze the situation and develop an effective solution.Managers often find themselves facing problems where the solution is not obvious. A tool designed for analyzing these complex questions is throughput accounting (TA), as Corbett describes in the article “Three-Questions Accounting.” TA requires you to determine how a decision will impact throughput, operating expense, and investment. The relationship among these factors can help you determine if a decision will improve profitability.Think of how TA could affect your organization or one with which you are familiar. Think of a decision at the organization you chose and the effect the decision has had on the organization’s throughput and operating expenses. Also consider the decision’s effect on the amount of money invested in operations, such as people, processes, software, infrastructure, and current projects. If you are not familiar with an organization in this situation or if you are restricted by confidentiality requirements, select a different organization. You can research organizations in the business press.A brief description of the organization you selected and the decision this organization madeA description of the impact that the decision had on investments in operations, such as people, processes, software, infrastructure, and current projectsYour determination of whether the organization made the correct decision, based on your application of the principles of throughput accounting (Justify your response.)MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CITATIONS PLEASE 🙂

solved ***Make a comment ***There are many issues within the healthcare

***Make a comment ***There are many issues within the healthcare delivery system. Such as confidentiality, shortage of primary care providers, and healthcare cost. Many people fear that health information will be breached. Each healthcare worker is entitled to keep healthcare information confidential. Only information can be shared with staff or providers that are involved in the patient’s care. In addition, if the patient gives consent to share information with family or friends. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) protects the healthcare information of the patients. If this act is broken many consequences can be faced. There is a major shortage of primary providers. There is an increase in NPs graduating. It is shown that this growth will double by the year 2025. For NPs to provide proper care will vary amongst states. Only 29 states allow NPs to work in full extent. With a decrease of providers currently, this can increase wait time to receive an appointment. In addition, burnout for providers will occur for taking care on increase number of patients (Xue & Intrator, 2016). Lastly, healthcare cost can be very expensive. Many individuals cannot afford insurance and the services that the government provides will lead to individuals to pay additional fees. Medicaid coverage will not cover the care of the patient fully. Certain individuals will not be able to afford a secondary insurance to help pay the out-of-pocket fees from the Medicaid services. It is important to figure out a cost-effective healthcare plan for everyone. This will allow individuals to increase in taking a health insurance (Erickson et al., 2017). As Nurses it is important that we educate the community the importance of these issues. This will allow more interventions to be made in place to benefit and create a safe environment for the community. This will lead to optimal health.
