West Nile Virus
You are the director of communicable diseases in a city health department, responsible for a large urban community. It is early spring in 2003. For the past two years, your department has been working to control the spread of the West Nile Virus and you are pleased with the progress so far. This morning you read about a suspected outbreak of a new disease called SARS which is suspected to have killed dozens of people in Hong Kong. While West Nile Virus is carried by birds, especially crows, SARS is transmitted among people.
When you get to the office and check your email you learn that the World Health Organization has placed a number of East Asian cities off limits for all but essential travel. You also learn that Canada has reported deaths they believe are due to SARS. You are now confronted with addressing a new and virulent contagious disease.
Discuss the approach you would adopt in such a situation.
Follow a step by step process for disaster preparedness.

solved 1-A certain project has three activities on its critical path.
/in /by admin1-A certain project has three activities on its critical path. Activity A’s normal completion time is five days. It can be crashed to three days at a cost of $500. Activity B’s normal completion time is six days, and it can be crashed to four days at a cost of $50. Activity C’s normal completion time is eight days. It can be crashed to three days at a cost of $1,000. Which activity should the project manager crash and by how many days? How much will it cost? 2-Using the data below, create the project schedule using normal times. Determine the order in which you would crash the project one day, two days, and so on until it is in an all-crash mode. Identify how much it would cost for each day you crash the schedule. 3-A baker has a contract to bake three dozen chocolate chip cookies for a customer’s party. Create a bottom- up estimate that includes both items needed for the project and the cost. According to your estimate, how much should the baker charge for the cookies? 4-Using the data below, create a time-phased budget for the project. Show how much the daily and cumulative costs for the project are, just as the monthly and cumulative costs are shown in Exhibit 10.9. 5-List three methods that can be used for categorizing project risks. For a fund-raising project, give examples of risk using each categorizing method. 6-To help identify risks, what are some questions a project manager could ask when reviewing the project charter and WBS? 7-List and describe at least three common quantitative risk analysis techniques. Under what circumstances would you find each one useful? 8-Create a SIPOC for an everyday activity (i.e., paying bills, parallel parking, or making cookies). 9-Identify key quality project plan steps that you feel should be included within a typical overall project plan. Be sure to include quality items throughout the project plan life cycle.

solved Q1Using the handout on rhetorical situations, analyze the rhetorical situations
/in /by adminQ1Using the handout on rhetorical situations, analyze the rhetorical situations of three of your own pieces of writing: First, think of three pieces of writing you’ve done over the past few weeks (this could be formal assignments, emails, status updates, etc.) Identify each component of rhetorical situations for each piece: Who is the communicator or writer? What’s the issue being addressed? What is the author’s purpose in addressing this issue? What is the form or genre? Who is the audience? What is the context? Q2Read this piece from Time, “Why Telling the NCAA to Pay Players Is the Wrong Way to Help College Athletes.”Take note: Your aim in this rhetorical exercise is not to figure out where you stand on this issue; rather, your aim is to evaluate how effectively the writer establishes a logical appeal to support his position, whether you agree with him or not.Use these steps from Elizabeth Browning’s book to evaluate logos in this piece:Step 1: Once you have a general idea of the article, read through it and pay attention to how the author organizes information and uses evidence. Make note of these instances.Step 2: After reviewing what you noticed in Step 1, evaluate the organization of the article as well as the amount and types of evidence that you have identified by answering the following questions:Does the information progress logically throughout the article?oDoes the writer use transitions to link ideas?oDo ideas in the article have a clear sense of order, or do they appear scattered and unfocused? Was the amount of evidence in the article proportionate to the size of the article?oWas there too little of it, was there just enough, or was there an overload of evidence? Were the examples of evidence relevant to the writer’s argument? Were the examples clearly explained? Were sources cited or clearly referenced? Were the sources credible? How could you tell?

/in /by adminI’m working on a law multi-part question and need an explanation to help me learn.
BACKGROUND:
The investigation into Darian WELLS revealed that he had not only trafficked Winter Jones, but likely dozens of other young girls. None of them, or their families, wanted to get involved with reporting the crimes for fear of the Eastside Gang. Detective Brown was able to locate several of the girls from the pictures she found during the search warrant of WELLS’ home, but none of them would cooperate. The WELLS case was closed with his sentencing to prison.
Winter’s father was devastated when he learned what WELLS and the Eastside gang put her through. Mr. Jones demanded that WELLS be held accountable for all the charges against him and given the maximum sentence allowed by law. He was extremely angry when he learned of the District Attorney’s Plea Deal. Even after their explanation of trying to spare Winter having to testify in court, and safety concerns for the family, Mr. Jones was not satisfied, but was left with little legal recourse. He felt that justice had failed them.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Review all of the sections in this module associated with the Winter JONES case. Answer the following questions USING COMPLETE SENTENCES.NUMBER YOUR ANSWERS!
Do you believe that Winter Jones received justice for what happened to her? (Provide a detailed answer why or why not)
Do you believe Detective Brown did a competent and effective investigation? (Provide a detailed answer why or why not)
Would you have offered WELLS a plea deal if you were the prosecutor? (Knowing that Winter and others would have to testify and the trial would take months)? (Provide a detailed answer why or why not)
Do you think that the District Attorney should be able to legally make plea deals with defendants WITHOUT contacting the victim and getting his/her input? (Provide a detailed answer why or why not)
solved Annotation 2: Finding Connections & Alternative Headings Guidelines: For this
/in /by adminAnnotation 2: Finding Connections & Alternative Headings
Guidelines:
For this assignment, you need to apply both of the Textbook 4B and 4C activities to the news article “Instagram is the Home of Pretty Pictures. Why Are People Flocking to It for News? (Links to an external site.)” (The Conversation). Â Â
(1) Instructions for Video Presentation on 4B & 4C Â
What you will submit to this Discussion Board is a video presentation of both exercises: Â
Step 1: Read and follow the instructions on 4B and 4C activity worksheets. Â You also need to read Chapter 4 first to better understand what are some criteria for creating “good, strong, reasonable” headings for news articles.Â
Step 2: Fill out 4B and 4C worksheets. Â (I’m also providing a 4B template for this text here for your own reference.)
Step 3: Create new headings for the news article and list out the main points for each section using the 4C activity worksheet (also on “Instagram is the Home of Pretty Pictures” and ignore the text assigned on Top Hat).Â
You can either download the PDFs from Top Hat or type them out following the same format.Â
For 4C, you should REGROUP or BREAK UP some of the headings and paragraphs and come up with your own sections and headings. In the presentation, please focus on the rationale (for your re-organization of the original news article). Â For instance, if you were a reporter to write on the same topic, how would you present your finding differently?Â
Step 4: Once you complete the 4B and 4C worksheets, record a video presenting these two activities.
For 4B, briefly summarize each section and present your own new summary.
For 4C, present the new headings and explain your rationale (i.e. reasons and logic) for breaking up the text and for using the headings upon which you have decided. Â Your video should be 3-5 minutes long (but 5 minutes will the be time limit).Â

solved Research Report – Selling Overseas and Marketing in Another Country:
/in /by adminResearch Report – Selling Overseas and Marketing in Another Country:
This project should be completed individually.
Select a product or service that you currently own (or use) and a country that you’re not familiar with. You are encouraged to select a product or service that is unique and innovative.
Imagine that you are with the international sales department of the company that manufactures and sells the item (or service) that you are proposing to make or introduce in the country you have selected.
The first step is to learn as much as possible about the country where you plan to market the product. Â Check almanacs, encyclopedias, the Internet, and library databases for the most recent information, paying particular attention to descriptions of the social life of the inhabitants, their economic conditions, and cultural traditions that encourage or discourage use of the product or service.
Your Task – Write a five page report that describes the product or service you plan to market abroad; briefly describes the country you have selected, indicates the types of people who would find the product or service attractive, explains how the product or service would be transported or introduced into the country (or possibly manufactured if materials and labor are readily available in the host country), recommends a location for a regional sales center, and suggests how the product or service should be sold. Your report is to be submitted to the chief operating officer of the company, whose name you can either make up or find in a corporate directory.  The report should include your conclusions (how the product or service will do in this new environment) and your recommendations for marketing (steps the company should take immediately and those it should develop later).  You are highly encouraged to include financials, action plan, and a social media strategy.
