In this assignment, you must find a recent news article (within the last 2 years) that describes new archaeological research. You will select one article and write a short summary of the finding! Make sure that your news article comes from a reliable source. In addition to most journalistic newspapers (i.e., NPR, BBC, New York Times, Washington Post, AP, Reuters, etc), Phys.Org,  Science, NPR, and  Archaeology Magazine are good sources. If you aren’t sure if your source is reliable, check out this guide and think about how your source compares. In your summary, be sure to include.

The relevant details about the research (i.e., where does it take place, what time period/culture are the archaeologists studying)
A description of the artifact and it aesthetic, symbolic, utilitarian, and functional aspects
A discussion of the primary methods used by archaeologists in this research
The significance of this finding
