If used properly you can improve your relationships, your ability to persuade others, your chances at career advancement, and a host of other benefits that becoming a better communicator provides. In order for you to gain a deeper understanding of these concepts, it will be important for you to begin applying them. Theory without application will not allow you to use what you’ve learned and thus, you are less likely to benefit from it. Therefore, this assignment is designed to give you a hands-on experience with going out into a natural setting and using some of what you have learned in class. To aid you in this process you will be required to choose a setting in which others are communicating with one another. The form of communication you choose to observe depends on your own preference. You can observe people interacting directly through conversation, playing sports, working together, etc. or you can observe examples of indirect communication such as strangers in crowded places, intimate partners spending time with each other without actually speaking to one another, or someone reacting to something they have witnessed. You will observe the people interacting in this setting, and provide your analysis regarding what you thought to be significant about the communication that took place, in the form of a term paper. To aid you in your writing you will need to choose three specific course concepts or theories that relates to your observations. Examples include: Selection – what forms of stimuli were present in the situation and how did the communicators respond or negotiate those stimuli? Social Roles – what social roles did you pick up on and what was it about the interaction that communicated those roles? Nonverbal Communication – Repeating: did you notice any particular gestures that the communicators used to reinforce what they were saying verbally? Once you have selected the concepts to work with and explained how they functioned in the situation you observed, you will then need to provide an analysis of what you learned from this experience. For example: what are your thoughts about what you witnessed? Did it confirm or disconfirm any of your assumptions about communication? Was there anything that surprised you? If so, what was it and why did it surprise you? Since you will be choosing a textbook concept for this assignment, you will need to provide a reference page including in-text citations in APA style. Your paper will be judged according to the following criteria:1. Your ability to support your analysis through the use of relevant examples2. Your ability to connect classroom learning to your observations3. The application of appropriate communication concepts and/or terminology from lecture or the textbook4. The demonstrated ability to think critically about what you observed (quality of your writing/insights)5. Proper grammar, spelling, and overall format

solved USE THE QUESTIONS BELOW TO ANALYZE HOW THE BASIC ELEMENTS,

USE THE QUESTIONS BELOW TO ANALYZE HOW THE BASIC ELEMENTS, TECHNIQUES, AND STRATEGIES OF EDITING CONTRIBUTE TO THE VISUAL AND STORY CONTENT OF THIS SCENE:
1 ELEMENTS OF EDITING

Isolate and observe the individual shots in this sequence.
What, if anything, do these individual shots mean on their own, independent of their context to previous and subsequent shots?
How does their meaning change in context with the other shots in the sequence?
How would you describe the rhythm or tempo of the sequence or of the film as a whole?
How does the editing contribute to this effect?
Do the filmmakers employ any alternatives to the cut, such as a fade, iris, or dissolve? If so, discuss how this effect works.
Can you discern any tonal or graphic relationships between the shots?

2 CONTINUITY EDITING

Is the editing style of the film invisible, or does it draw attention to itself?
Identify the master shot in the sequence. How does that shot establish the spatial relationships in the scene?
Find a sequence that includes a prolonged conversation. Observe and discuss how techniques such as the 180 degree rule and shot/reverse shot are used to capture the visual and narrative content of the scene.
Does the sequence include an eyeline match? How is this technique used to communicate story information?

3 ALTERNATIVE EDITING STYLES

Does the film draw attention to the editing in any way, and if it does, how does this affect your reading of the scene and/or the film?
Does the film use jump cuts? How and why?

The Hurt Locker (2008) this is the film

Reply:

This scene from hurt locker shows Renner’s character checking a car for a bomb that could potentially kill him at any time. His squad sets a perimeter around him to protect him and to watch for enemies. However, in Iraq it is difficult to tell who is friend and who is a foe. The editor does a great job emphasizing this state of confusion by changing shots at a fast pace using a shaky cam. At the beginning without context, it would seem that they are relaxed and surveying the land. As the shots continue and cut to the supposed enemies on the roofs with cameras, it is shown that there is something suspicious. This suspicion is further emphasized when the shots continue to cut faster to the enemies who begin using signals almost if they are planning to kill the soldiers. It is chaotic and confusing which is only made worse as Renner’s character continues to defuse the car bomb. The establishing shot shows that all the soldiers are spread decently apart and communicate via radio. They show Sanborn’s eyeline match as it cuts to the individuals on the roof that he is looking at. The master shot after getting built up by cross cutting ends up being when Sergeant William defuses the bomb. The rapid cutting ends and their is a 180 degree view shown on Williams as he is defusing the bomb. All these editing techniques help to establish that time is passing and actions are being performed even when the camera is not on the character. The film, in my opinion, does not draw attention to the editing and it very well establishes another world that is constantly moving and in action. It is excellent in creating a buildup of suspense and confusion among the audience which creates a fear of where the enemy might come from. I believed the film used jump cuts on Renner’s and Mackie’s characters to establish how unaware and frantic they are. It shows that time is flowing and coincides with continuity editing.

solved I just need a paragraph response to the post below:Hepatitis

I just need a paragraph response to the post below:Hepatitis A is a liver disease that is caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV). HAV is primarily spread through ingestion of food or water that has been contaminated with the feces of infected individuals (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2021). Hepatitis A is preventable through vaccination. Since 2016, cases of Hepatitis A have steadily increased across the United States of America (CDC, 2021). Florida, however, has seen a 500 percent increase since the year 2019 (Florida Department of Health and Human Services, 2021).The consensus regarding Hepatitis A in the United States is that it is simply a disease of the poor or third world countries. How could we possibly see Hepatitis A in a country with clean water, access to healthcare, and grocery stores? Hepatitis A has merely been misunderstood by the general population leading to an increase in its emergence. Florida has some of the highest HAV occurrences in the country and accounts for the most deaths caused by HAV, with recent numbers showing 5,024 total reported cases and 76 deaths since January 2018 (Flynn, 2021).Although HAV is spread primarily through the fecal-oral route, this way of contraction seems not to be the principal concern in the recent reemergence of HAV infections (Flynn, 2021). The recent increase in Florida appears to be tied to a rise in homelessness and IV drug use related to the nation’s opioid crisis (Company & Koh, 2019). While most individuals will have minor symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and jaundice, a small percentage of individuals will be sick enough to require hospitalization, and a smaller percentage will die from HAV. Vaccination with a single dose of the Hepatitis A vaccine provides up to 95 percent protection for up to 11 years (CDC, 2021). It is therefore imperative for nurses to do what they can to encourage patients to encourage vaccination. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) currently recommends that the following groups be vaccinated for HAV; children at age one, injection drug users, men who have sex with men, homeless people, and people with chronic liver disease (CDC, 2021). It should also be considered for those traveling where HAV is common, caretakers of people with HAV, people with clotting disorders, and people who work with HIV in a research laboratory setting (CDC, 2021).With their intimate knowledge of patient’s health histories, nurses are uniquely situated to recommend the Hepatitis A vaccine to high-risk individuals, who may not otherwise avail themselves of this lifesaving opportunity. The declaration of a public health emergency in the state of Florida on August 1, 2019, significantly changed the way I practice because it brought HAV to the forefront of my mind. As a nurse in a hospital setting, I became even more conscious of good hand washing techniques and the use of universal precautions months before the onset of the COVID pandemic. HAV also rose higher on the list of differential diagnoses for my patients with abnormal liver function tests. The search for a cause for jaundice in a hospitalized patient no longer ended with gall stones and biliary cancer; I had to consider HAV as a potential diagnosis. The reemergence of HAV through the surging homeless population and increasing opioid epidemic has challenged me to use an integrative approach in my care delivery methods to better educate patients with the hope of preventing and protecting vulnerable populations in my community.

One of the questions I asked myself was how do I capture the work being done and portray it to the constituents. I began creating a social media presence, reaching out to the media in the locality and also the macro Massachusetts news stations, Newspapers , familiarized myself with media contacts, created an email database for E newsletters, and made sure that meetings on various issues were captured in terms of a photograph that could be posted as an image on social media with a blurb. Everything that we worked THEN had a presence on social media. My motto was if there is no photo or post, it didn’t happen. ..That was almost ten years ago, and nothing has changed in that regard. In fact, PR now plays an even more essential and crucial role, and is actually necessary to communicate with the public and also stay relevant. I’m referring to political officials in my experience above, however the work of municipalities and state/federal agencies needs to be shared via Participation 2.0. The question becomes, HOW effective can Participation 2.0 BE, without a dynamic organizational culture that welcomes Collaboration 2.0?QUESTIONS: 1. Based on Chapter 11, please discuss below the public relations management functions as listed by the PRSA National Assembly, what specifically stood out to you the most when reviewing the functions? Why? 2. Discuss the differences between (external )Participation 2.0 & (internal) Collaboration 2.0 and their relevancy in PR. 3. Per their (MMA) website, “For 40 years, the Massachusetts Municipal Association has been bringing municipal officials together to articulate a clear and united municipal message, to develop and advocate for unified policies, and to share information and work together to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of municipal service delivery. In short, the MMA is the voice of cities and towns in Massachusetts.”In the fall of 2020, Councillors discussed the EFFECTIVE USE of social media.
