When you respond to other students, ask them questions about their choice of topic. Ask them what issues they might see as being key concerns related to the topic. Scenario:
Pastas R Us, Inc.(see attached) is a fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in noodle-based dishes, soups, and salads. Since its inception, the business development team has favored opening new restaurants in areas (within a 3-mile radius) that satisfy the following demographic conditions:

Median age between 25 – 45 years old
Household median income above the national average
At least 15% college-educated adult population

Last year, the marketing department rolled out a Loyalty Card strategy to increase sales. Under this program, customers present their Loyalty Card when paying for their orders and receive some free food after making 10 purchases.
The company has collected data from its 74 restaurants to track important variables such as average sales per customer, year-on-year sales growth, sales per sq. ft., Loyalty Card usage as a percentage of sales, and others. A key metric of financial performance in the restaurant industry is annual sales per sq. ft. For example, if a 1200 sq. ft. restaurant recorded $2 million in sales last year, then it sold $1,667 per sq. ft.
Executive management wants to know whether the current expansion criteria can be improved. They want to evaluate the effectiveness of the Loyalty Card marketing strategy and identify feasible, actionable opportunities for improvement. As a member of the analytics department, you’ve been assigned the responsibility of conducting a thorough statistical analysis of the company’s available database to answer executive management’s questions.

Based on your findings above, assess which expansion criteria seem to be more effective.Could any expansion criterion be changed or eliminated? If so, which one and why?
Based on your findings above, does it appear as if the Loyalty Card is positively correlated with sales growth? Would you recommend changing this marketing strategy?

This week your assignment is to begin researching a small business of interest to you and then start the process of organizing and writing of a formal business model. You will want to select a small business or franchise for which you have some expertise, knowledge, experience, and (most importantly) considerable interest. Before you attempt this Model, please review some of the resources listed in the Reading & Resources section of the Week 6 Lesson.
Once you have reviewed the resources in the lesson, the next step in this process is to watch the video hyperlinked below. We will be using the model design that is covered in this short 9-minute video. Before you start the video, download and print out a copy of the Outline sheet that has been inserted below, it will help you in your note taking as you watch this video.

Now that you have a good feel for the business you want to model, and the format we are going to use to develop your Business Model, it’s time to get to work formatting your business plan. We will follow an organization much like the video you just watched, with two exceptions (see the outline below):

The thought that was put into each of the 9 segments. Was everything considered and has the author considered all of the important factors affecting each part of the model? Is it complete with no missing elements?
How creative was the model presentation
How professionally narrated, written, or presented the Model is?

Read the following case and:1) Identify predisposing, precipitating, maintaining and protective factors using the framework set out in Figure 2.1 on pg 382) List five questions you would ask this client to gain more clarity about her case.Carla, aged 12, is an only child whose parents brought her for treatment because she has not been sleeping recently and is persistently tearful. She has been seen by the family doctor and the school counselor, and it was her teacher who suggested the referral to your service. Her developmental history is relatively normal. She has always had a good relationship with both parents. Her parents take her viewpoint seriously but have clear rules about homework, house chores and pocket money. She also has a few very close friends and plays hockey for the school team. Carla is a determined student and does very well at school. The main problems in her life center on her mother’s illness. Her mother has been repeatedly hospitalized for depression since Carla was born. During these hospitalizations Carla normally stays with her grandmother. In the 2 years prior to the referral the grandmother developed dementia, and 3 months ago she moved into a residential center. Shortly afterwards, Carla’s mother was hospitalized and Carla was cared for by a live-in au pair. Carla’s father is very worried about her and has tried to cut down on the amount of time he spends at work. He is a supervisor in a factory and works a shift-work schedule where he is on nights 1 week out of 3. Carla’s father has been trying to follow the family doctor’s advice of cheering her up by taking her out more and avoiding talking about the mother’s depression or the grandmother’s dementia. However, the school counsellor has advised that he should spend more time at home talking with her about the sadness she feels about her mother’s and grandmother’s problems.APA. Management skill mastery requires out-of-class practice. How to do this is pretty straightforward if you are currently working in an organization, regardless of whether you are an experienced manager, or a new, part-time employee. Whether or not you are currently employed, I encourage you to seek out skill practice opportunities in all aspects of your life. The sooner you begin – and the more you persist in – practicing what you learn in this course, the more you’ll be able to count on these skills as “automatic responses” when you need them as a manager.
Grading of Assignment
Please put the number of the Skill Application Exercise you select (ex: Exercise 3-A) somewhere on the front page of your assignment (Please see the latter part of the course syllabus for a list of approved Skill Application Exercises). 
Each paper should be typed, double-spaced, and at least 2-3 pages in length with a Times New Roman 12-point font, with 1” margins

Pay strict attention to the instructions for each Skill Application Exercise – you will be graded against that standard.

Make sure that you use the proper vocabulary from the appropriate chapters. Through your paper, clearly demonstrate that you understand the principles and practices explained in the text.

You’ll submit your paper on Canvas (it will actually automatically first go to Unicheck, the university’s plagiarism detection service) by midnight of the indicated due date.

Excellent Skill Application papers will demonstrate:

Extraordinary effort and creativity in completing the assignment.
A solid understanding of the underlying concepts including the use of vocabulary from the chapter.
Evidence of internalization of the chapter material.

Exemplary writing style and composition, including appropriate grammar and spelling.

2-C. Write a personal principles statement. Specify precisely your core principles; those things you consider to be central to your life and your sense of self-worth. Describe the legacy you want to leave. Identify at least one thing you want to accomplish in your life that you would like to be known for. In your write up, include a description of the contemplative process you used to come up with your personal principles statement.
