Question 1

Consider the project data shown in Appendix A.
Over the last 15 similar projects risk (R1) appeared in task A 5 times, resulting to an increase of task A duration by 7 weeks. Similarly, risk (R2) appears during task G with a probability of 35%, increasing the duration of task G by 5 weeks. Assume any further data you need for each task and illustrate your calculations as required depending on the questions below.
Please answer the following.

a)  Design the project’s network on the arc.
b)  Which is the most severe risk?
c)  Calculate the Risk Reduction Leverage for Risk (R1).
d)  If risk R2 happens, how will it affect the successful completion of the project?
e)  How long will it take to complete the project assuming a probability of 95%?

Question 2

Consider the project data shown in Appendix A.
Assume that activities (A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H) are fully completed. Task I (7,8) is achieved by 70% and task J (6,8) is achieved by 25%. The rest of the tasks have not started yet.

a)  Redesign the project network.
b)  Calculate the estimated remaining time for the completion of the project.

a)  You are assigned to investigate the possibility of organizing a conference on “The Future of Aviation” for Emirates. How would you assess if the project is “READY”?
b)  Discuss three possible risks for “The Future of Aviation” conference. How you assess the risks’ impact? What is your strategy to mitigate the project risks?

Question 4
a) There are 5 projects in progress in the organization you currently work in. One of the projects is experiencing delays due to lack of project management expertise and partly due to staff availability problems. Explain how would a Project Management Office be useful in such a situation? Justify your answer.
b) Assume you are the PMO head supervising a number of projects undertaken by your organisation. The project manager of a project expresses his/her concerns about changing customer priorities that result into cost reconsiderations and rescheduling of the project. How would you suggest to the project manager to approach and tackle his/her difficulties? Justify your answer. 

Explain what health literacy is and why it is so important to nurse’s and health care professionals overall. Can you explain a specific example of a time when you, a family member or a friend experienced a problem with health literacy in a healthcare setting? At the end of each unit, DB participation is assessed based on level of engagement and the quality of the contribution to the discussion. DBs allow learners to learn through sharing ideas and experiences as they relate to course content. Because it is not possible to engage in two-way dialogue after a conversation has ended, no posts to the DB are accepted after the end of the unit. Learners must demonstrate an appropriate depth of understanding of course content to receive credit for having submitted substantive posts. Convenience stores are looking at more competition from supermarkets, drugstores, and membership-warehouse clubs that have added gas pumps and faster checkouts. Therefore, cost cuts are needed to increase convenience stores’ competitive edge. Some retailers have found that it is cost-effective to stock only one brand of a product. Others found that stocking particular products cost the convenience store so much that it incurred a loss on the sale of that particular product. Using accounting software takes all of these costs into consideration and shows where nonprofitable products are losing money. It helps convenience stores increase sales and decrease costs.

Select one of the major convenience store in your town and research the store product, and list all of the types of costs that can be associated with a product.
Since cutting cost are needed to increase convenience stores’ competitive edge, in your professional judgment and based on your experience, which costs can be cut without affecting daily operations of the store. Please discuss your reasons for cutting the selected costs.
Using accounting software takes operating costs into consideration and shows where nonprofitable products are losing money. How does this software tool help to more accurately assess an item’s profitability? Do you think that this software is beneficial for convenience stores? Why or why not?

Can you recall a personal situation in your career in which a company that you use to or currently are working for cut unnecessary costs? How cutting costs workout?

A) I chose Juvias Place. This is a small makeup company that sells quality makeup pallets, lipstick, and foundation and much more. Before I purchased from them, I received an ad pop up previously that said 40 to 50 percent off any make up bundle packages which included lipstick liner and three palettes of different shades of eye shadow. So, I really had to investigate. Once on the website 20 percent off entire purchase if I subscribed to their email (which was a mistake) popped up on my screen. I was sold they took off the 20% for subscribing to there email and then an extra 20% for being a new customer. This double 20% prompt me to put more into my cart and I have been stuck with buying from them ever since. Every month they have new deals, bundle packages and free gifts that they include when you purchase. Theses incentives keeps me coming back. The target behavior is for me the consumer to spend more money with their business. To achieve this behavior the company advertises different incentives upon purchase. Text messages and emails are also sent to my phone each month to let me know the different deals and new product that is available, to reinforce this behavior each time upon purchase the company shows you what was deducted in dollar and percentage amount to ensure the consumer that they are doing exactly what their company advertised. B)I found an advertisement from an insurance company. They want to reward you for doing certain health related activities such as quitting smoking and losing weight and even for going to your doctor for a well visit. We all think about seeing our doctor when we are sick, but we really skip appointments that are checkups and annual physicals because we do not really see the merits of it. Why waste the time to go to the doctor if you are not sick. But these visits are critical in our all-around heath.
