PART I (5 points)
Write one paragraph (5-7 sentences) about the differences between Primary Sources and Secondary Sources.  Your paragraph should also include what the importance of both sources is and where you can find these sources.
PART II (5 points)
Here is a list of five sources and a description of each source. Indicate whether the source is a Primary Source or a Secondary Source. If the source is a Secondary Source you also have an added task of telling me whether or not it is Scholarly or Non-Scholarly (these terms are clearly defined in the Writing Assignment Lecture – Primary and Secondary Sources).  If you would like to search the internet for the source and find out more information I cannot stop you from doing so, but everything you need to determine is here.
Primary Source or Secondary Source?
(Name of the source in bold – the explanation of the source in non-bold)
1. King James Bible – The English version of the Old Testament and New Testament as commissioned by King James I in 1604 CE.
2. The Ransom of the Soul – A history book published in 2015 about the transition from the Late Roman to the Early Medieval period; written by Peter Brown, a scholar in Roman and Medieval Histories.
3. The Cahokia Mounds – Earthen pyramids constructed from about 1000-1500 CE in Collinsville, Illinois by the Mississippian peoples.
4. Codex Nuttall – A Mixtec (an Indigenous Mexican peoples) history text about their king, Lord Eight-Deer Jaguar-Claw, that was crafted around 1300-1400 CE, before the European invasion, and eventually found in a monastery in Italy in 1854.
5.  “A huge new prehistoric circle has been discovered near Stonehenge” – Article published on CNN Travel from June 22, 2020 about new discoveries at Stonehenge, written by Rob Pichetta, a journalist.

TasksChoose an app that you use often on your phone (If you do not use any phone apps, then a service on the internet – not something like duck duck go.)Make a list of the data you think it collects and stores.Find the terms of service for that application. Make a list of the information the app actually collects and stores. How are the two lists different? Where did you think it was collecting more and where was it collecting less?Either in pairs or individually, go onto campus and find at least four different people to ask about their data. If you go in pairs, try to talk to at least six people. Here are some rules though. If someone does not want to talk to you, do not force them. Introduce yourself and let the person know you are collecting data for a class. Ask them if they have a few minutes to answer some questions. You can also let them know that they are free not to answer any questions. You cannot just speak with your friends. You will ask them if they will share certain types of data with you that is collected from the app of your choice. For example, if the app asks for location, ask them if they will share their location with you for the next 5 minutes. If the app stores images, ask them if they will send you the last picture that they took. Try to get them to actually provide the information. (It might be a good idea to start with information that is less invasive.)At the end, ask them if they use the app you chose and that it stores all of that data.Record the data for your assignment, or at least what types of information you were able to collect.Write a reflection on the experience. Did what you expect happen? Were there any differences between groups? We will discuss this as a class before you need to write everything so you can see a wider range of data.

Write 400–600 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.Additional Information: The briefing to John and the board of directors was a success. You and Shawn believe that it allowed them to understand the challenges associated with managing global human capital effectively and the value of recognizing human capital as a critical part of AGC’s strategic plan. John and the board of directors gave every indication that they understood the sense of urgency needed to align the key global human capital goals with those established for the entire global organization. In fact, they asked you to move ahead with developing global human capital goals for AGC as part of its strategic plan. You will begin by evaluating the existing organizational culture and analyzing the leadership styles used at each global AGC subsidiary. The company has several global subsidiaries, each with significant cultural differences. Shawn believes that AGC would benefit from an organizational culture that is more proactive and competitive. Likewise, he believes that leadership development programs should focus on styles that recognize the importance of celebrating diversity, empowerment, and innovation.Review the AGC scenario for this course and discuss the following with your peers:Using AGC as an example, what human capital management problems can arise when an organization does not acknowledge cultural differences at its global subsidiaries? How can leadership styles effect global organizational culture?Describe a human capital management goal that Shawn can recommend to change the global organizational culture of AGC.

solved First, read the article from the Guardian linked in this

Link to article- https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2019/jan/20…
Link to video 1-  https://youtu.be/Se12y9hSOM0
Link to video 2- https://www.viddler.com/embed/842ce3a2/?f=1&autopl…
Please answer each question with between 450 – 650 words each.
1. According to the article, what is “surveillance capitalism” all about and why might it be so destructive?  From the video, what is “manufactured demand” and how does this play into ethical issues?  Do you think most people care or realize these things?
2. In the first video showing the creation of Dasani as Coke’s brand and how it was marketed, how is the company trying to address ethical issues like environmental impact?  Do you think this is enough or what suggestions would you have for them?
3. According to the second video, advertising and marketing in our current economic model contribute to the destruction of the planet and our low happiness index here in the US.  It also raises the idea of manufactured demand. Why or how might these things be true?
4. What do you consider the largest ethical issue related either to the current set up of online data collection through our apps or to how products are marketed to us?  You could include a range of things like privacy issues, health scares, false pictures of where bottled water comes from, environmental destruction, and bottle disposal, etc.
5. Lay out the top pro (supporters) and con (critics) arguments for advertising and marketing.  Use ideas from our text and your own research.  Finally, state your overall opinion about it.  What would be your biggest talking point in defense or against it.

Using the organization you chose to analyze, please include the following:

Select a change that the organization is going through and present background information and the current successes and challenges.
Lewin developed the force field analysis tool to identify readiness for change. Some HR professionals use the model as a formal assessment, asking team members (separately or in groups) to rate the strength of the forces for and against change. On a scale of 1 (not ready for change) to 5 (ready for change), rate the organization and explain why you provided the rating.
Based on your research, select a change model, briefly describe the model and why it was selected and present how the model might be used to improve the organization as it undergoes the change. Explain how it could be used to help leaders and employees navigate the change.
Using the content in the readings, present recommendations on how the organization could improve its change efforts and how HR can strategically partner with leaders through the change process.

solved This week’s assignment involves watching two movies, one from list

This week’s assignment involves watching two movies, one from list A, the other from list B. The movies in list A tend more toward the serious—i.e. dramas; list B features movies that lean toward the comedic, or at least the absurd. All films are available through the Swank streaming video database, accessible through the FSW library website. After watching one selection of your choice from each list, you will write a short synopsis of both films, and then a brief analysis of a scene from one-and only one-of the movies.
Start off with a brief synopsis of the one you aren’t analyzing. Be sure and include some details as you go, details like how the film was paced, and how the scenes and technical details contributed to the overall dramatic or comedic effect of the movie. Next, give a brief synopsis of your second film, then focus on one scene that seemed particularly effective. Get inside the structure of the scene, looking at things like how the shots are set up, how the sequence is edited (the cuts) for effect, how the lighting and direction and acting contribute. Is the scene comedic or dramatic (be mindful that a dramatic scene can appear in a comedy and vice versa)? Does the ambience or set or lighting of the scene seem to contribute to the overall effect (recall how in The Godfather interior scenes are usually dark and cavern-like, making the set feel like the underworld). Does the scene in some way join meaningfully to the broader message of the movie? Be sure and use some of the terms that have been learned in this course to give rigor to your analysis
List A (Dramas)
? Moonlight
? The Piano
? Arrival
? Freaks (Todd Browning)
? Casablanca
List B (Comedies)
? Being John Malkovich
? Black Klansman
? Some Like It Hot
? Lost in Translation
? Dr. Strangelove

Individual ExerciseReports are ubiquitous in the work world. While they are common, there are many different types. Reports share the common goal of delivering information, but they take very different forms to accomplish this goal. To help expose you to the many and varied forms of reports, and to sensitize you to the relationship between audience and form, you will analyze two different reports using the PAD approach, and assess the similarities and differences between your exemplars.AssignmentTo get ready for the Collaborative Report, you’ll be analyzing report examples for purpose, audience, and design to give you an idea of the work you’ll be doing. The goal here is to begin to familiarize you with the report genre–which is as common as email in the workplace and really, really broad. This discussion works to expose you to different types of reports and relationship between form and PAD.
