It is important that you find lots of good information to base your paper on.Find and listen to musical examples of the artist(s)/group(s) you are writing about. If you are writing about a jazz “scene”, find and listen to some of the important artists from that scene. Find reviews of their music, and include your own description of what you hear in the music.If you are writing about an artist/group, Include a general description of the artist/group, what they are known for and other relevant projects/recordings they have produced. Include a selected discography as part of your reference citations.A discography is a list of important recordings by the artist or group. (You can find examples of discographies online.) Final Project Grading Criteria: The project is worth 300 points toward your final grade for this course. Use pagination. Cite research articles using the format established by the American Psychological Association Manual and Stylebook. You can observe the use of the basic APA Style citation and paper formats in most of the communication research articles used in this course. The formats include use of a title page in which you list the author as well as the class, instructor and date; an abstract; an introduction; a literature review; internal in-text citations of author/dates; hypotheses/ research questions; methodology; findings; and results; discussion and study; implications; conclusions; and a bibliography. While your paper may not necessarily include all of these items, it should be constructed accordingly. Proofread your final copy. You WILL lose points for handing in a sloppy, ill-formatted paper. Level I includes evidence of relevant “Randomized Controlled Trials” (RCTs) obtained by conducting meta-analysis or systemic reviews. It also includes “evidence-based clinical practice guidelines” based on the systemic review of multiple high-quality RCTs that have the same results. Level II includes pieces of evidence from RCTs that have good design. Level III includes evidence that is obtained from the controlled trials that are well designed, excluding randomization. Level IV includes evidence obtained from well-designed studies, either cohort or case-control. Level V includes evidence obtained from the meta-synthesis (systemic reviews of studies including quantitative and descriptive studies). Level VI and level VII include evidence from a single study (qualitative or descriptive study) and evidence obtained from authorities’ opinions or reports from the expert communities, respectively. Best evidence can be found by applying the “hierarchy of evidence” (Camargo et al, 2018).
