Who Shall Remain Nameless
In “Standard Loneliness Package,†we encounter a first-person narrator who, despite also being the main character/protagonist of the narrative, remains nameless. Most of the other characters, even passing minor characters, get names, but the narrator-protagonist is always just “I.†In Salvage the Bones, the first-person narrator goes unnamed for entire first chapter, before we learn her name, Esch, at the beginning of chapter two. Given the important and influential role occupied by a first-person narrator, does learning their name matter for the sake of our experience of the narrative or the storyworld? Compose a 3-4 paragraph response that discusses your thoughts on the significance or impact of learning or not learning the narrator’s name in the case of these two narratives (make sure to cite specific details from these narratives in your response). Though you are not limited to them, you might address the following talking points:
How does a first-person narrator-protagonist’s lack of a name (or the delayed reveal of their name) affect how you read, perceive, or understand them as a character?
Does it make much of a difference if or when you learn the narrator’s name? How?
Does it matter if the narrator goes unnamed while so many other characters are named? Why or why not?
Are there other factors that hold more significance than the narrator’s name? If so, what and how?
How does the named/unnamed narrator issue matter when comparing/contrasting “Standard Loneliness Package†and Salvage the Bones? Does the issues matter in one of the narratives more than the other? Why/how so?
solved The final will be composed of three parts. Parts I
/in /by adminThe final will be composed of three parts. Parts I and II will be exactly as you encountered them on the midterm: reading passage identifications and short essay responses to the framing questions for lectures. Once again you’ll be given three prompts and asked to respond to two of them. Parts I and II will only concern the readings/lectures from the second half of the course (ie, after the midterm). Be sure that your answers support points with references to both the lectures and the readings. These responses should be 2-3 paragraphs.Part III will involve one longer essay. Below are three essay prompts. Only one of them will appear on the exam, but you should be prepared to answer each of them. Your responses should be 4-5 paragraphs. Note that part III is cumulative in nature, meaning that you’ll need to draw on the full sweep of the course material in crafting your response. 1) You have been tasked with writing a comprehensive historical account of Korea’s minjung movement. What are the central episodes, actors, and issues that figure into your “people’s history” of Korea? 2) If you were to build a museum on the history of Korean-US relations, what would you exhibit and why? Pick three main themes, identify key events and actors involved, and explain how you would guide visitors through your museum.3) Notions of ethnic nationalism runs deep in both Koreas. Where did ideas about a homogenous national identity come from and how did they evolve across the twentieth century — and into the twenty-first? The final is open book, open note, but you are expressly forbidden from consulting the web. There is in fact no need to do so and I’ll be hawkishly on the look out for plagiarism in it’s many forms.

/in /by adminOnce again, you are the owner of a security company that has been hired to perform a risk assessment and evaluation based on the following scenario:The client is in a three-building corporate campus that includes a five-story building housing, which is the headquarters office for a major pharmaceutical company. The building is in a suburban location, sited on approximately five acres adjacent to an interstate highway ramp. The loading docks can be accessed from the parking lot via side roads. In the past, there have been moderate threats made against this company. My team will take care of the rest.

Kim Jung Gi has been hailed a contemporary master of drawing. In drawing circles he has become known for conducting live recorded question and answer sessions. Recently, he even conducted one at SDSU.
Find Your Black & White Illustration:
Taking some inspiration from the film on Kim Yung Gi, find a black and white illustration that helps to tell a story and is visually dynamic. Sci-Fi and Fantasy books, graphic novels, Â and video games are great places to search. Be sure to mention the name of the artist, title of the artwork (if possible) and where the illustration can be found in your thread.
Be sure to embed your image/s (just like in the demo below). DO NOT attach the image/s in word doc or pdf files. Attached images that require downloading for viewing will NOT be looked at and the discussion will earn a zero.
Embedding Images Into Canvas Discussions (Links to an external site.)Â
Discussion Questions:
Tell us why you chose this illustration.
What is it about the artwork that made an impression on you?
What do you feel makes it visually effective? Discussing a principle of design or two or anything from the visual toolbox could be helpful.
Avoid going to Google for answers to the questions. Adding a little info from a source is OK, but I really want to hear your very own thoughts.
Part 1: Find your black & white illustration.
Part 2: Write a short essay that answers the above questions and provide comments about your own viewing experience. Additions to your thread resulting from any added research is fine. But remember to stay on topic and answer the questions.
Part 3: Respond to a minimum of two other student Threads.
