In Unit VII of this course, you will be submitting a research paper based on a topic within police-community relations. More specifically, narrow the focus of your research paper to how the police relate to a specific group within a community.
For this assignment, you will create an annotated bibliography, which requires you to research, select, and read three peer-reviewed journal articles. Newspapers, news outlets, blogs, or anything from Wikipedia or any of its affiliates etc. are not acceptable.
Your articles should address the following elements:

one or more of the theories regarding conflict and conflict management and how they can be applied to policing,
one or more of the different approaches to police-community relations, and
how police-community relations are impacted by police officers themselves.

Community Relations has morphed into Community Oriented Policing through Robert Trojanowicz, during the mid-1980’s. Today, the phrase “Community Policing is most prevalent. Here is an excellent presentation by retired Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey. Ramsey was originally from the Chicago Police Department and later the Washington D.C. Police Department. He finished his career in Philadelphia and is now active with the Police Foundation out of New York City.

1-Seutonius and the Colosseum,Seutonius was a Roman citizen who lived from 69-130 CE and wrote biographies of twelve Roman emperors.  Although his accounts of the rulers are anecdotal, they do provide modern readers with insight into Roman life.  For this assignment, you will read two excerpts from Seutonius’ biography, The Life of Augustus.  When Seutonius writes “he” in the passage, this is referring to the things that Emperor Augustus has accomplished. Throughout the course, various elements of professional, collegiate, and Olympic sports have been studied and evaluated. Some of the issues and concerns that were identified in each level of sports significantly impact the sports organizations’ and academic institutions’ operations, financial management, and business practices. Complete a thorough review of factors that influence an organization or institution that operates at each level of sports based on the assigned course readings and five scholarly sources.
In a narrative format, the paper must include:

Evaluation of three factors that impact the management of a collegiate, professional, and Olympic organization/institution.
Comparison of the factors that impact the various organizations at the different levels of sports.
Prediction of what factors will influence each level of sports over the next ten years.

A constructive learning environment consists of collaboration between educators and students. Educators need to include the students in the learning process, articulate the learning objectives, and set learning goals that are appropriate for a variety of learners.
Review the data received from the pre-assessment implemented in “Clinical Field Experience C.” This data will determine where learning gaps might be and how individual students are demonstrating their knowledge. Use the “Intervention and Goal Setting Template” to complete this assignment. Using the same standard selected for the pre-assessment, create one intervention activity that can be implemented with the three students you assessed.
