II. Build a Team for a Community Needs Assessment (5 pages ) Homelessness Identify a Diverse Community Team. Using the internet and/or your connections from working in the community, identify approximately 8–10 cross-discipline stakeholders that you would propose for your team and explain why you selected each. Examples of stakeholders include, but are not limited to, an executive director of a shelter, a school administrator, a community health worker, a prison warden, a corporate business leader, and a community member with a stake in the problem. These stakeholders should be members of the community who are familiar with the problem and/or who are affected by the problem. They are also critical to the success of the community needs assessment. For each stakeholder that you selected, address the following: For each stakeholder that you selected, address the following: i. Describe the knowledge and expertise that each stakeholder provides. ii. Describe the roles and responsibilities of each stakeholder. Be sure to indicate which stakeholders would play the role of an advocate, which would play the role of a consultant, and which would play both roles. Keep in mind that not all stakeholders will play these roles. b. Plan for an Interview with a Stakeholder i. Identify a stakeholder (referred to as an informant) from the team to interview. The informant should be someone who is very knowledgeable about the problem and who has a vested interest in solving it. ii. Develop five broad, open-ended interview questions that you could ask the informant to help you better define the problem, achieve a common understanding of it, and reach an agreed upon scope of the community needs assessment. c. Develop a Team Strategy. Normally, after you have identified a project team, you would meet with the team and collaborate on the items listed below. In this case, since you are only planning the community needs assessment, you will address these items yourself rather than with a team. i. Define two goals of the community needs assessment that you and your team would implement to address the social problem. ii. Identify five data sources that your team would use for the community needs assessment (e.g., policy, local laws, statistics about who from the population is impacted by the problem). Explain how your team would use the data sources to gain a better understanding of the magnitude of the problem, what has been done to address it, and/or what gaps exist. iii. Describe the top five strategies that you would prioritize to address the problem and prevent its recurrence. Explain your reasoning for prioritizing the strategies, including how the time and resources it would take to implement each influenced your decision making. iv. If you were to conduct this assessment, what is your estimation of the amount of time it would take to carry it out and why? v. Describe the proposed decision-making protocol (e.g., majority vote, priority-based decision making) that you would use to reach a consensus among team members if you carried out the community needs assessment. Explain why you selected this protocol. III. Next Steps (3 pages). Develop a plan to carry out the top three strategies for addressing the problem using what you have learned about social change, prevention, advocacy, and consultation. Be sure to address the following in your plan. a. Identify Strategies to Address the Problem. Identify the three strategies that you would carry out to address the problem. Be sure to refer to the Prioritizing Strategies worksheet that you completed earlier in the course. b. Carry Out the Strategies. Explain the steps that you would take to carry out the top three strategies to address the problem. c. Identify Data to Carry Out the Strategies. Explain what type of data you would need to make decisions about how to implement the strategies (e.g., data to support programs, changes in service delivery, or policy change). Give two examples. d. Critique the Strategies. Explain how you would critique the effectiveness of the proposed strategies.

When the lawyer knows or reasonably should know that the unrepresented person misunderstands the lawyer’s role in the matter, the lawyer shall make reasonable efforts to correct the misunderstanding. The lawyer shall not give legal advice to an unrepresented person, other than the advice to secure counsel, if the lawyer knows or reasonably should know that the interests of such a person are or have a reasonable possibility of being in conflict with the interests of the client.Rule 4.3 Dealing With Unrepresented Person – CommentShare: Transactions With Persons Other Than Clients[1] An unrepresented person, particularly one not experienced in dealing with legal matters, might assume that a lawyer is disinterested in loyalties or is a disinterested authority on the law even when the lawyer represents a client. In order to avoid a misunderstanding, a lawyer will typically need to identify the lawyer’s client and, where necessary, explain that the client has interests opposed to those of the unrepresented person. For misunderstandings that sometimes arise when a lawyer for an organization deals with an unrepresented constituent, see Rule 1.13(f).[2] The Rule distinguishes between situations involving unrepresented persons whose interests may be adverse to those of the lawyer’s client and those in which the person’s interests are not in conflict with the client’s. In the former situation, the possibility that the lawyer will compromise the unrepresented person’s interests is so great that the Rule prohibits the giving of any advice, apart from the advice to obtain counsel. Whether a lawyer is giving impermissible advice may depend on the experience and sophistication of the unrepresented person, as well as the setting in which the behavior and comments occur. This Rule does not prohibit a lawyer from negotiating the terms of a transaction or settling a dispute with an unrepresented person. So long as the lawyer has explained that the lawyer represents an adverse party and is not representing the person, the lawyer may inform the person of the terms on which the lawyer’s client will enter into an agreement or settle a matter, prepare documents that require the person’s signature and explain the lawyer’s own view of the meaning of the document or the lawyer’s view of the underlying legal obligations.Jo is your supervising attorney. From the following twelve questions, you will be asked to answer ONE from each part, for a total of five. Give equal attention to each question; a more substantial answer to one question does not make up for a less adequate answer to another. You may answer one or both of the optional questions, but you need not, and they will be weighed less than the required questions. Do your own work and do not just paste in from (or lightly revise) other sources, including lecture notes. We use “SafeAssign” to test for plagiarism, for which we have zero tolerance. Part One 1.Explain Anselm’s Ontological Argument. Critically evaluate the argument. Does it establish that God exists? Explain your view. 2. Lay out the Cosmological Argument. What is the most significant objection to it? Evaluate the Argument in light of this objection. Does the argument succeed? Explain your answer. 3. Explain the Design Argument. What is the most significant objection to it? Evaluate the argument in light of this objection. What is the idea behind Intelligent Design and does it successfully defend the Design Argument? 4. Are there good “pragmatic” reasons to believe in God? Discuss Pascal’s Wager in this context: what is the pragmatic argument for the existence of God that is based on Pascal’s Wager? Discuss the most pressing objection or objections to this argument and evaluate these objections. Are they successful? Explain your answer. Part Two 5. What is the Problem of Evil? What is the Free Will Defense to the Problem of Evil? How well does it account for the evils we find in the world? Are there ways of supplementing the Free Will Defense in order to provide a more compelling theodicy? Defend your answer (either positive or negative). 6. What considerations do Louise Anthony present to explain and justify her loss of her Christian faith (and her subsequent atheism)? Do you agree or disagree with the claim that they establish atheism? Explain your answer. Part Three 7. What does “Cogito ergo sum” mean, and what role does this claim play in Descartes’ refutation of skepticism about our knowledge of the external world? Descartes builds on this insight to provide a fuller refutation of such skepticism by invoking God’s existence. How does Descartes use God’s existence in his argument against skepticism about our knowledge of the external world? Is the argument persuasive? Why or why not? 8. What is Frankfurt’s account of “bullshit?” According to him, what is the difference between lying and bullshitting? Also, according to Frankfurt, why is bullshit so prevalent, and so dangerous? Give an example of bullshit either from your personal life or contemporary politics and explain why it is disturbing. Part Four 9. What is the problem of personal identity over time? Why does it matter? (That is, what is at stake in the question of personal identity over time?) What is the most plausible answer to the question of what makes a particular person the same over time? Evaluate this criterion of personal identity in light of at least one significant objection. 10. Explain the Turing Test. What is it supposed to be a “test” of? How is Searle’s Chinese Room Thought-Experiment relevant to the Turing Test? What does Searle conclude from his thought-experiment? Critically evaluate Searle’s conclusions. Do you think computers of the future could (in principle) “think”? Why or why not? Part Five 11. What is it about Sisyphus’ life (once he is required to roll the rock up and down the hill) that makes it absurd? Does it have to be meaningless? What elements would we have to add to the story to make it a meaningful existence? How are our lives similar to Sisyphus’ life (during the rock-rolling period)? How are they different, if they are? 12. Assume that death is the permanent cessation of existence and an experiential blank. Could death (on these assumptions) be bad for the individual who dies? Start by laying out Nagel’s answer to this question and critically evaluate the main problems for Nagel’s view. Do you agree or disagree with Nagel?

solved Disscusion question :we read about potential ways of intervening in

Disscusion question :we read about potential ways of intervening in gang violence. What do you think about these interventions, based on what you’ve read previously in this class? How effective do you think they might be? What problems might they experience? classmates comments :1. One intervention I found particularly effective was the Boston Ceasefire strategy. This method combines the efforts of the police and probation officers as they visit the homes of juveniles on probation that seem they may be most likely to offend. The main goal of these visits were to ensure juveniles were obeying their probation regulations and to send a message that they were being watched, in case they wanted to offend. This project seemed to be quite effective as juvenile homicides declined dramatically during its course. I feel this intervention method was so effective because of the approach it took to stop violence rather than stopping individuals from joining a gang all together. While gangs are the main target of these interventions, I feel the Boston Ceasefire project did so well because the main goal was to reduce and prevent violence. I think that gangs feel threatened when the goal of an intervention is to dismantle the gang or prevent more recruits from joining. However, when the police and probation officers are stopping by to ensure that an individual is doing as they should and not getting into trouble, it is less of a threat to the gang as a whole and more of a concern for the safety of people. An intervention method I found to be not so effective was the gang databases. While I feel these are necessary for prisons and places where rival gangs may be in close quarters, the gang databases maintained at a state level have some issues. These databases underrepresent girls in gangs, yet there are also concerns that too many individuals are included in the databases, and there is concern that some of the individuals in the database may not even be affiliated with a gang. The lack of ability to accurately pick out a gang member could result in people who aren’t associated with gangs ending up in the database and, possibly, even getting longer sentences because of this. Overall, I think gang intervention is necessary in order to prevent and decrease gang activity. I feel the best way to go about the interventions is to start by focusing on stopping violence amongst opposing gangs.2. While I think some of the interventions introduced by the government are more for publicity’s sake than for the good of communities around the country, one of the programs I feel as though had an impact is GRYD (The Los Angeles Gang Reduction Youth Development). This program combines many components needed in order for a program to be successful: planning, assessment, implementation, and outcome evaluation. By have each of these steps the program leaders are able to tweak different aspects of the program and change them accordingly. When reading about the other programs in the textbook it seems as though those programs were created and then left alone to see if they worked without being willing to change as they learn more about those in gangs within their community. Although, it is also important to note that results are not going to be immediate results, therefore it can be difficult to determine whether or not certain programs are actually effective. On the other hand, many programs are not effective in the long term when it comes to deterring youths from joining gangs. An example of this is the GREAT program. In this program, there was short term effects that showed there were fewer social problems amongst teens, but in the long run the program did not seem to have any effect on students in terms of gang membership. I think something that can be taken from each of the programs talked about in the textbook shows that each city is different in terms of what they need when targeting gang membership amongst teens. But more importantly, there needs to be more research into these programs in order to find the one that helps students the most.

You’ll apply statistical time series modeling techniques to identify patterns and develop time-dependent demand models. You’ll practice organizing and delivering a presentation to senior decision-makers. The PowerPoint presentation includes an audio component in addition to speaker notes.Scenario: A city’s administration isn’t driven by the goal of maximizing revenues or profits but instead looks at improving the quality of life of its residents. Many American cities are confronted with high traffic and congestion. Finding parking spaces, whether in the street or a parking lot, can be time-consuming and contribute to congestion. Some cities have rolled out data-driven parking space management to reduce congestion and make traffic more fluid. You’re a data analyst working for a mid-size city that has anticipated significant increments in population and car traffic. The city is evaluating whether it makes sense to invest in infrastructure to count and report the number of parking spaces available at the different parking lots downtown. This data would be collected and processed in real-time, feeding an app that motorists can access to find parking space availability in different parking lots throughout the city.Instructions: Work with the provided Excel database. This database has the following columns:Lot Code: A unique code that identifies the parking lotLot Capacity: A number with the respective parking lot capacityLot Occupancy: A number with the current number of cars in the parking lotTime Stamp: A day/time combination indicating the moment when occupancy was measuredDay: The day of the week corresponding to the Time StampInsert a new column, Occupancy Rate, recording occupancy rate as a percentage with one decimal. For instance, if the current Lot Occupancy is 61 and Lot Capacity is 577, then the Occupancy Rate would be reported as 10.6 (or 10.6%).Using the Occupancy Rate and Day columns, construct box plots for each day of the week. You can use Insert > Insert Statistic Chart >Box and Whisker for this purpose. Is the median occupancy rate approximately the same throughout the week? If not, which days have lower median occupancy rates? Which days have higher median occupancy rates?
