This opportunity will build critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the context of data analysis and interpretation. In addition, you’ll gain a first-hand understanding of how data analytics supports decision-making and adds value to an organizationScenario:Pasta’s R Us, Inc. is a fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in noodle-based dishes, soups, and salads. Since its inception, the business development team has favored opening new restaurants in areas (within a 3-mile radius) that satisfy the following demographic conditions:Median age between 25 – 45 years oldHousehold median income above the national averageAt least 15% college-educated adult populationLast year, the marketing department rolled out a Loyalty Card strategy to increase sales. Under this program, customers present their Loyalty Card when paying for their orders and receive free food after making ten purchases. The company has collected data from its 74 restaurants to track important variables such as average sales per customer, year-on-year sales growth, sales per sqft, Loyalty Card usage as a percentage of sales, etc. A key metric of financial performance in the restaurant industry is annual sales per sqft. For example, if a 1200 sqft restaurant recorded $2 million in sales last year, it sold $2,000,000/1200 = $1,667 per sqft.Executive management wants to know whether they can improve their current expansion criteria. In addition, they want to evaluate the effectiveness of the Loyalty Card marketing strategy and identify feasible, actionable opportunities for improvement. Essay Assignment 2Purpose:To deepen and demonstrate your understanding of various interconnected course materials in service of fulfilling the larger goals for the course as a whole. Primary among those goals are that you reflect with greater depth upon the nature of work, consumption, business ethics and personal identity and that you make use of a variety of major traditions of ethical theory in respect to matters of enterprise and exchange.Task:Write an essay in response to ONE of the the following prompts:1.) Please examine either the morality of “sweatshop” labor, the condition of labor in the “developed” world, or both if you find it useful to bring them into some relation to each other, as is treated in essays by Maitland, Arnold & Bowie, as well as in the film Up in the Air as we interpreted it in light of Heidegger’s essay. Some questions you might address: Is the morality of labor (in sweatshops or corporate offices) best examined in respect to human dignity or the best (or least bad) likely consequences? What role should meaning or freely chosen purpose play in labor? Should we worry about a kind of coercion that one might find in the form of manipulation of the need for meaning such as is on display in Up in the Air (note how United Airlines appeals to “loyalty,” or how Hertz and other companies cultivate a sense of belonging)? What role does exploitation play in the prevailing conditions of labor? Does expression on the part of laborers of a wish to keep their positions (as testified to in the case of sweatshop labor by Maitland, or as we witness in the case of labor in the developed world in Up in the Air) testify to the absence of exploitation?2.) Critically consider and evaluate the responsibilities of business corporations as evaluated by thinkers such as Friedman and Freeman. In the words of Freeman, “For whose benefit and at whose expense should the firm be managed?”Some questions you might address: Ought corporations to be run by managers who regard themselves as mere agents? To whom are they responsible? Do they have a special, or even exclusive obligation to shareholders (“stockholders”)? Or might they be responsible also to a wider range of “stakeholders”? If managers are to accept responsibility to this wider group, how are the interests of those stakeholders to be balanced with those of the shareholders when they conflict? Is directing the firm to serve the wider interests of shareholders really a matter of misdirecting private enterprise to serve public ends, as Friedman argues? Or is doing so, as Freeman insists, merely to understand the health of the company as contingent upon looking after a wider community of interests?Process:First, review this document. It might also be helpful to quickly review it at stages later in your writing process.Next, you should craft a detailed outline wherein you determine what ideas, questions, and illustrating examples you might like to use and what order to best put them in. This outline should be detailed enough such that writing the actual essay is largely a matter of clearly presenting thoughts that you have already worked out and considered. With your rough draft completed and submitted, your writing process should then turn to revision. To facilitate this, I have created a Revision Exercise. This is a required part of the assignment. It will guide you through a process of evaluating each paragraph of your essay for clarity and meaning and help you to identify where your essay needs more work to maximize both. Once you have completed that work, you’ll have a final draft ready for submission.Format:Your final draft should be roughly 3-4 pages, typed, double-spaced, in 12 pt. Times New Roman font with 1″ margins, top, bottom, and sides. Your work should be thoroughly proofread and completely free of misspellings and grammatical errors. No separate cover page is necessary, but be sure that both your name and the name of the GE who runs your discussion section (Audrey, Puja, or Valérie) are at the top of the first page.

Political Science 21A: Question Set #1.Collective Action, the American Constitution, Federalism, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. Please respond to four of the five short response questions posted below. Your answers should be short, focused, and complete, ranging from one to three paragraphs. Please make sure to answer each specific part of every question. Successful answers will provide details and context that support your arguments and explain your position to the readers. You may also want to provide real world examples taken from the readings, lectures, group discussions, or your own independent thinking. Only the first four responses you enter will be graded (there is no benefit to answering all 5 questions). For example, in your answer on collective action you may find it useful to talk about specific examples of collective action problems that governments solve. In your response to the questions on federalism you may wish to identify and discuss historical examples of conflict or cooperation between the national and state governments. These illustrations can be from the course materials or your own ideas. Providing this context and being able to apply the material to YOUR OWN understanding of politics really shows us that you have mastered the material. Each answer will be worth 25 points, for 100 points total. The Question Set is due on Canvas at 11:59 pm on Monday August 16th. You should write plan on uploading your response as a docx file or PDF to this Question Set #1 assignment tab. We will be using Turnitin for the assignment.1. A core theme of this class is that constitutions create rules and powers that enable governments to solve problems of collective action. 1) How do constitutions (and political institutions and rules) help resolve common collective action problems? 2) What important tradeoffs must the architects of constitutions consider when they think about how they will empower government to solve problems of collective action? 3) Why can governmental efforts to resolve problems of collective action be controversial? [As you answer this question please feel free to draw on examples from the Articles of Confederation, the US Constitution, or your own understanding of the course material]2. Why did the Articles of Confederation fail to produce a stable government for the new United States of America? 2) How did the failures of the Articles of Confederation influence the design of the Constitution of the United States of America? 3) How did the need to forge a compromise between large states (that could gain power) and small states (that could lose power) influence the design of the Constitution? 4) How (if at all) has this compromise shaped the way the United States government functions today?3. What are some benefits of having a federal system? 2) What are some drawbacks? (In addition to the logical arguments, provide an example of federalism being beneficial, and an example of it being problematic). 3) Drawing on these arguments, do you think a stronger national government would be better or worse? (Be clear about what you mean by “better” or “worse” and why).4. Baron v Baltimore established a concept of dual citizenship. How did this view of dual citizenship shape civil liberties/civil rights protections for early citizens of state governments? 2) Why and how did so many of the civil liberties protections come to be nationalized or incorporated? 3) What are the benefits and drawbacks of incorporating civil liberties protections to extend to citizens of United States regardless of their state of residence?5. What were the goals of Jim Crow laws? 2) How were these largely remedied in the 1960s, and what are the Constitutional justifications for these remedies? (Make sure and note the difference between de facto and de jure segregation in considering the effectiveness of these remedies.) 3) In 2021, many states have introduced legislation that will make it harder for many Americans to vote. Should we be concerned about a return of Jim Crow voting restrictions? Why or why not?

EC3: Russell Company is a pesticide manufacturer. Its sales declined greatly this year due to the passage of legislation outlawing the sale of several of Russell’s chemical pesticides. In the coming year, Russell will have environmentally safe and competitive chemicals to replace these discontinued products. Sales in the next year are expected to greatly exceed any prior years. The decline in sales and profits appears to be a one-year aberration. But even so, the company president fears a large dip in the current year’s profits. He believes that such a dip could cause a significant drop in the market price of Russell’s stock and make the company a takeover target.
To avoid this possibility, the company president calls in Zoe Baas, controller, to discuss this period’s year-end adjusting entries. He urges her to accrue every possible revenue and to defer as many expenses as possible. He says to Zoe, “We need the revenues this year, and next year can easily absorb expenses deferred from this year. We can’t let our stock price be hammered down!” Zoe didn’t get around to recording the adjusting entries until January 17, but she dated the entries December 31 as if they were recorded then. Zoe also made every effort to comply with the president’s request.

Reply:

1. What was the result of your “Find My Specialty “?  and the  Nursing Personality ?       Does the result align with your personality and career aspirations?
My specialty was emergency room nurse. I figured before the result was posted that it would be an ER nurse. It actually is an area I am interested in along with pediatrics. Beginning nursing school I wasn’t interested in ED due to the fact that I have been exposed to a similar style of patient care via pre-hospital acute care. After doing rotations on various floors I soon realized that I would not be a fit on any of the med Surg, IMCU, stroke, rehab floors. During my ED rotation, it was all familiar to me and I was comfortable in helping with all the patients we cared for that day.
My personality result was humanitarian. I’d say it is pretty accurate. I have spent close to two decades caring for people, participating in clinical research studies to help make advancements in the medical field, and have been an instructor for paramedic students.

Do your personality and interest match the chosen specialty according to the ?

Yes, they both matched, not sure what the other options were but the two fit me and my style. I am interested in a fast-paced work atmosphere that is constantly changing and challenging. I also seek to help people and provide the best care possible. Lastly, I want those around me to learn something from me, and I want to learn something from them. We should seek to learn something new every day even if we have been in the field for 5,10,20 years. You’re never too old to learn, and you never know everything.

What interesting facts were revealed about the chosen specialty and your self-assessment?

I didn’t see anything in particular that stood out. For ED you go with the flow, comfortable being on your feet for a full fast-paced shift. Which is pretty accurate. Adaptable and love that no two days are alike, also accurate. Thrive in organized chaos and always up for the challenge of being pulled in several directions. Pretty much sums me up, in my current profession and the new one I am seeking out.
2. After completing the “Find My Specialty Quiz”, I got fitted for Cardiac Nursing because “I am a perfect balance between being hyper-organized and comfortable with chaos”. I would say these characteristics do match with how I am, but I would have never guessed Cardiac Nursing, which is something I would consider looking into. After completing the “Nursing Personality Quiz”, it said I have a Trail-Blazer personality. I have never heard of this type of personality, so to elaborate, this means that I have qualities of being an “excellent leader”, valued for giving “clear advice”, and “often take roles as an organizer”. Additionally, I “lead by example, exemplifying hard work, dedication, and reliability”. I would say the really provided accurate results, as I am a no-bull kind of person who likes to get things done in a timely fashion and I’m always prepared. As I enter the nursing world, at first, I definitely won’t be the leader. I will be a very good listener and observer so that I can eventually play the role of leading my peers and being one that those can come to for advice.
After reading one of the articles posted about how to choose a nursing specialty, I matched with the high dominance category on the DiSC assessment, which makes sense after taking the other quizzes, and that I am drawn to the emergency department, intensive care, and operating room specialties. Then, after taking the GMercyU on choosing a nursing career, I was matched with travel nursing. I have always said from the beginning of my nursing school journey back in 2019 that I wanted to do travel nursing after choosing a specialty, so this result did not surprise me. However, what did surprise me was after going through our OB rotation, I realized that I definitely have a soft spot for NICU nursing. I currently do not have children or have the desire to have them in the future, so I was definitely taken aback by this realization.

solved In this essay, you will offer a critical analysis of

In this essay, you will offer a critical analysis of five television advertisements.
Your essay should be 3-4 pages in length (not including title page, works cited, and statement of originality).
1. Choose any television network that broadcasts commercials. Choose any type of show that you enjoy: sporting event, soap opera, comedy, movie, news, etc. Watch five commercials in a row. You may also find commercials on YouTube. If that is the case, the commercials must be recent (within the last year) and ones that were broadcast in the United States.
2. Use the concepts discussed in Chapters 6-7 of the textbook to analyze the commercials and to write your essay. (You can also draw upon learning from earlier chapters and discussion postings but you’ll need to apply key concepts from Chapters 6 and 7).
3. Give your essay a title.
4. Write an introduction. Include the channel, television show, and date when the commercials were broadcasted.
5. Consider who the commercial seems to be made for. Does it appear to target a broad, diverse audience, or does it seem to be positioned to appeal to specific social identities? (social identities include but are not limited to race, ethnicity, national identity, gender, sexuality, age, religion, occupation, etc.)

Can you distinguish any identifying religious behaviors in the people in the commercial? What does the commercial communicate about these religions?
How are the people in the commercial dressed? What does their clothing indicate about their lifestyle?
Does the commercial in any way promote the ideas of individualism or of collectivism? Explain.
What social organizations are depicted in the commercial: family? government? military? schools? churches? community groups? What does the commercial communicate about these social organizations?
What natural resources are present in the commercial? How are they used? What does the commercial communicate about the use of these natural resources?
Are any environmental issues raised by the commercial? Explain.
Does the commercial make any historical references? Explain.
