Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read Chapter 16 of your textbook, and test your knowledge in the MindTap Practice Chapter 16 Problem 10 and Chapter 16 Problem 25 located in Ch 16: End-of-Chapter Problems. Although not required, it is recommended that you also review the chapter videos and flashcards available in the recommended resources section of your course.
Your chosen company is in the process of introducing a new product that will affect the firm’s working capital position. The director of finance has asked you to use the cash conversion cycle model, which focuses on the length of time between when the company makes a payment and when it receives cash inflows. The finance director provided the following instructions. As you complete your paper, ensure you show your work for all computations.
In your paper,

Compute the firm’s cash conversion efficiency trends using your chosen company’s most recent financial statements for the last three years (cash conversion efficiency = cash flow from operation / sales).
Summarize the various changes and directions of cash conversion efficient values or trends to least three of the chosen company competitors.
Compare and contrast cash conversion efficient values or trends to least three of the chosen company competitor
Highlight the possible reasons for the variances over the three years’ comparisons. (Show all computation work)
Determine the length of the firm’s (chosen company) current cash conversion cycle and three of its competitor’s current cash conversion cycles.
Describe the possible variations between the companies’ day’s inventory, day’s receivable, and day’s payables.

Your Director of Finance also wants to change the current firm’s cash conversion cycle to increase the firm’s cash flow to meet the needs of the proposed new product. You have been asked to provide some specific courses of action that the firm could consider to achieve its quantitative goals.

Calculate the following scenarios, ensuring you sure to show your work for all computations:

10% decrease in average inventory

Change the re-order point by replenishing more frequently
Aggressively moving out slow-moving or obsolete items
Change order size
Switching to just-in-time model for inventory management

15% decrease in account receivables

Change of terms of sale
Offer discount for early customer payments
Look at who company is granting credit to
More aggressive collection effort

10% increase in Account Payable

Segment suppliers/vendors between primary and secondary importance
Access suppliers where company has leverage over
Re-negotiate payment terms with suppliers

After completing the above computations,

Create a chart that demonstrates how these adjustments are working for your chosen company and how they are working for the competitors. (The chart should consist of the computations of both the cash conversion efficiency ratios as well as the cash conversion cycle.)
Summarize how these adjustments can make a difference on the total cash conversion cycle and cash conversion efficiency.

Note any similarities or variances from the competitors.

Describe the pros and cons and the impact these adjustments will have on the both the firm and its competitors.
Identify whether or not your chosen company needs to seek out other short-term financing arrangement to support your proposed actions.

Various Reporting Situations[CLOs: 1, 2, 5]Assume that Stanford CPAs encountered the following issues during various audit engagements in 2020:Stanford conducted the audit of Luck, a new client this past year. Last year, Luck was audited by another CPA, who issued an unmodified opinion on its financial statements. Luck is presenting financial statements for 2019 and 2020 in comparative form. One of Stanford’s clients is RealCo, a real estate holding company. Assume that RealCo experienced a significant decline in the value of its investment properties during the past year because of the downturn in the economy and has appropriately recognized that decline in market value under GAAP. Stanford wished to emphasize the decline in the economy and its impact on RealCo’s financial position and results of operations for 2020 in its audit report. For the past five years, Stanford has conducted the audits of TechTime, a company that provides technology consulting services, and has always issued unmodified opinions on its financial statements. Based on its 2020 audit, Stanford believes that an unmodified opinion is appropriate; however, Stanford did note that TechTime reported its third consecutive operating loss and has experienced negative cash flows because of the inability of some of its customers to promptly pay for services received.Stanford has assisted Cardinal Inc. with the preparation of its financial statements but has not audited, compiled, or reviewed those financial statements. Cardinal wished to include these financial statements in a communication that would describe Stanford’s involvement in the preparation of the financial statements. Stanford believes that Cardinal’s communication is adequate and appropriately describes Stanford’s limited role in the preparation of the financial statements.Trees Inc. presents summary financial information along with its financial statements. The summary financial information has been derived from the complete set of financial statements that Stanford has audited (and issued an unmodified opinion on the complete financial statements). A lender has engaged Stanford to evaluate and report on Trees’ summary financial information. Stanford believes that summary financial information is fairly stated in relation to Trees’ complete financial statements.Stanford believes that some of the verbiage in Plunkett’s Management Discussion & Analysis section is inconsistent with the firm’s financial statements. Stanford has concluded that Plunkett’s financial statements present its financial position, results of operations, and cash flows in accordance with GAAP and has decided to issue an unmodified opinion on Plunkett’s financial statements.Oil Patch is a client in the energy industry that is required to present supplementary oil and gas reserve information. Stanford has performed certain procedures regarding this information and concluded that it is presented in accordance with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) presentation guidelines and does not appear to depart from GAAP. Based on the audit, Stanford plans to issue an unmodified opinion on Oil Patch’s financial statements.Required: How would each of these issues affect Stanford’s report on the client financial statements? Do not draft the report that Stanford would issue for each situation. Be sure to answer each situation separately.

solved For this case study, craft a professional memo, appropriate in

For this case study, craft a professional memo, appropriate in format, tone, and content, to send to your clients Fred and Sally, with your preliminary thoughts on the issues within. Your memo should illustrate the issues and relevant law, apply the facts, and support your conclusions with regard to each issue. Always remember to be clear, kind, and professional in your communications.
Case Study 1 Fred is well known in his town for his homeopathic cough syrup. After years of encouragement, he has decided to take his miracle cough remedy to market as “Fred’s Miracle Cough Syrup.” While his cough syrup is homeopathic, one of the key ingredients causes a severe reaction when taken in conjunction with aspirin. Fred plans to make and bottle his cough syrup in an outbuilding on the family farm. His son, Sam, has been raving to the locals about his father’s cough syrup for years, and the local drug store and grocer have contacted Fred to place orders as a result. Sam also intends to approach several national chains in an effort to secure supply contracts for Fred’s cough syrup. Fred has asked Sam to assist him with deliveries, as Sam has a van. Fred would like Sam to be involved with the business as an employee initially, with the option of making him a partial owner at a later time. Fred and his wife Sally have two children, Sam and Lilly. Both live in cabins on the family farm with their spouses and children. Fred and Sally engage you as their attorney to assist with the formation of the new business, including determining the appropriate business entity type, management issues, product liability issues, and estate planning for both the business and family property. After your initial meeting, you identify and research the following issues.
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed
I. Describe the main types of business entities and their defining characteristics.
II. Apply product liability law and determine what issues are present. How would you advise your client to mitigate those issues?
III. Apply the elements and characteristics of an agency relationship to Sam’s actions. Does Sam’s involvement prior to the business formation, as well as his anticipated role once the business is formed, create an agency relationship? Why or why not?
IV. Identify potential real property issues based on the location of the business on the family farm. Justify each potential issue.
V. Does the manufacture of Fred’s Miracle Cough Syrup on the family farm necessitate a formal transfer of ownership or possessory rights? Defend your response.
VI. Identify potential personal property issues based on the use of Sam’s personal vehicle to deliver the product. Justify each potential issue.
VII. Does the use of Sam’s personal vehicle in the course of business expose Sam or the business to any liability issues? Defend your response.
VIII. Identify potential estate planning issues with regard to the business and the family farm. Justify each potential issue.
IX. What estate planning vehicles are available to Fred and Sally should they desire to transfer ownership in the business and family farm, respectively, to Sam and Lilly equally? What are the advantages and disadvantages to each?
X. Applying your analysis of the issues above, which type of business entity do you recommend for Fred’s Miracle Cough Syrup and why?

Unit 4 Discussion 1
COLLAPSE
Non-profit’s organization need money to continue to move towards their mission. Financial management is vital to the growth of the organization, financial manager utilized a variety of tools to record accurate data. There are three statements that an organization can utilized to assist with recording data. The first is the,”statement of financial position, the second is the, “statement of activities. Along with the third “statement of cash flows”, Weikart L.A., Chen G.G., & Sermier E.(2012). I like the, cash flow” method paired with the creating a side-by-side comparison. My decision for this method of the cash flow accounting is that it shows the black and white of the transactions. Pair with creating a side-by-side comparison, the audience can easily see both the growth, along with any financial risk, (Weikart L.A., Chen G.G., & Sermier E.(2012). I also think that completing a quarterly financial reporting system can help keep the data on track throughout the fiscal year. Breaking the net classes, up in three categories could potential keep the information clean, as far as separating the difference in revenue. Identifying, unrestricted, temporarily restricted, and permanently restricted, could be easier to view, (Weikart L.A., Chen G.G., & Sermier E.(2012). Keep in mind that the end objective is to undercover tools that are efficient and the effectiveness leads to financial growth of the non-profit. As this relates to Healthy Families,(www.healthyfamiliesfla.org) the quarterly financial reporting system would be best practice, due to the amount of families can fluctuate which impacts the measurement/outcomes. Categorizing the net asset, can then provide the true data. The combination of activities and cash flow statements would be best practice for the agency due to the inconsistency of population. The cash flow statement shows the revenue of what is current, while the activities statement gives the decision makers a view of what needs to be included in the financial plan.

Touchstone 1.2: Write a Research Question, Thesis, and Outline
ASSIGNMENT: Following the Topic Selection Guidelines below, choose an argumentative topic to research. This will be your topic throughout the entire course, so the activities required for this assignment will provide the foundation for your future Touchstones. The topic for an argumentative research paper must be a debatable topic, meaning that it involves conflicting viewpoints. Additionally, it cannot be a topic that is already decided or agreed upon by most of society. You will need to take a firm position on the topic and use evidence and logic to support the position. Touchstone 1.2 includes a research question, a working thesis, a detailed outline, and a reflection on this pre-writing process.
Sample Touchstone 1.2
A. Topic Selection Guidelines
DIRECTIONS: You may choose any topic you wish as long as the topic has two clear sides and is not agreed upon by most of society. Your topic should be current, appropriate for an academic context and should have a focus suitable for a 6-8 page essay.

In order to foster learning and growth, all essays you submit must be newly written specifically for this course. Any recycled work will be sent back with a 0, and you will be given one attempt to redo the Touchstone.
C. Reflection Questions
DIRECTIONS: Below your assignment, include answers to all of the following reflection questions.

Learning to conduct research is important because it is a skill you will use both in academia and in your professional life. It improves critical thinking and empowers you to find information for yourself. Consider the process of researching as a whole. What was the most challenging aspect of the process for you? (2-3 sentences)
The working thesis statement is a proposed answer to your research question. It should clearly identify a debatable topic and take a position on one side of that topic. Analyze the effectiveness of your working thesis statement. (3-4 sentences)
A detailed outline is an effective tool for laying out the progression of an argument. It allows you to consider the arrangement and organization of your ideas, as well as choose places to incorporate outside source materials. Review your detailed outline and summarize the argument you’ve presented. (3-4 sentences)
You will use the same topic on three of the remaining Touchstones in this course. What kind of feedback would be helpful for you? What are specific questions you might have as you go deeper into the research process? (2-3 sentences)

solved Go back and review the Communication Principles in the reading

Go back and review the Communication Principles in the reading and in this module’s lesson content. Familiarize yourself with the information and address the following in your post.

Choose two of the principles of communication.
Provide two examples for each of the principles (so you will have a total of 4 examples by the end of your post).
How could you apply your knowledge of these principles in a future interaction to prevent or reduce misunderstanding?

the 2 principles of communication you will use
Communication occurs in a context: When we communicate it takes place in a certain area, and we have certain expectations based on that location. We have to take into account that people talk differently in different situations, you would not act the same in class as you would in a baseball game.

Communication is purposeful: We communicate for a reason. There are five key reasons to communicate
Physiological Needs
Safety Needs
Social Needs
Esteem Needs
Self-Actualization Needs

Communication is when two or more people gather together to receive or share information that can be talk, gesture, writing, or reading. In today’s society, people are using social media to talk among each other for example texting, email, Facebook and Facebook messenger, etc. There are six principles of communication I will only be talking about two.
The first principals are Commutations are symbolic. This is when “We communicate using words, but the words are only symbols, not the actual objects themselves. Communication involves words, pictures, sounds, and marks, all of which may represent something else” (G141,2021). I used this form of communication every day of my life when talking with my co-worker for example:
On this particular day, my co-teacher and I had a zoom meeting with the parents. Parents have lied to us thinking we don’t know, but we do during a meeting a parent told us that her child does not cause self-harm to herself, so while listening I looked at my co-teacher with a stern look while tilting my head to the side which told my co-teacher that parent is lying. Which the thrust came out the more we kept talking to one another. The child was doing self-harm herself by banging her head on the bed.
Another way of communication with symbolism is when working with children I turn off the lights in the room and singing songs to get their attention. It’s very helpful because at the time it’s too loud and I’m not able to raise my voice. By turning off the lights I am communicating with the children they need to stop what they are doing and follow directions.
The second principal’s communication is a process. Communication is a process that is defined It evolves over time and after multiple engagements that build upon each other. This ongoing interaction changes the relationship” (G141,2021).
When working with families it takes time to build a relationship, but when seeing that person every day and having a convention relationship starts to form and both parties feel comfortable with each other. When this happens a connection can be made.
When working with a new person is can be awkward at first. Neither person doesn’t know anything about who he or she will be working with, but as time goes by the two individuals begin to start commuting with each other on a more personal level and opening the lines of communication to build up a relationship.

For this Discussion, your instructor will assign you a case number.
Goal: To analyze and apply critical thinking skills in the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of psychopharmacological agents for patient treatment and health promotion while applying evidence-based research.
Chapter 7, Case 1Beth is a 23-year-old Asian American graduate student. She is currently in treatment with a psychologist for anxiety. She claims that her cognitive therapy has helped her control her worry and anxiety, but she has noticed that her symptoms have worsened this year with all of the pressures of school. In addition to worry, her mind races at night when she tries to sleep, and she claims it may often take her two to three hours to finally fall asleep. She describes herself as a “type A” person who is rather “anal” about doing well. She worries nonstop about grades but also worries nonstop about her health, money, her parents’ health, and world affairs. She is very insightful about her condition and agrees the worry is excessive and unwanted. She admits that there is really no basis for the worry, as she has a full scholarship, she and her parents are in good health, and she currently has a 3.9 GPA. She claims that she has always been rather tense, but it didn’t get to the point that she sought treatment until her senior year in college. She was worried about getting accepted to grad school and “obsessed” over getting straight A’s. She sought the help of a psychologist at the university counseling service, was placed on Paxil, and began therapy. For the most part, her symptoms disappeared, but she remembers feeling tired during the day.Chapter 11, Case 1
Lotus is a 36-year-old Asian American female who recently started a new executive position with an advertising firm. While she loves her new job and the field of advertising, she admits that the new schedule is grueling and that she often doesn’t get home until quite late. She has noticed that it is difficult for her to relax before getting to bed and her mind often wanders to the many tasks she needs to complete when she returns to work in the morning. These “racing thoughts” result in significant initial insomnia, causing her to be alert for nearly an hour or more before she is able to fall asleep. When questioned about these symptoms, she claims that she has never seen a therapist before, doesn’t consider herself to be anxious or depressed, and has never had a problem with sleeping in the past. There are no worries of money or health-related issues, and she claims to enjoy her job and the people with whom she works. She even does not find these thoughts unpleasant, as she uses the time to plan her next day. She admits that they are just a bit intrusive and that she really needs to wind down and get more rest.Questions:Remember to answer these questions from your textbooks and clinical guidelines to create your evidence-based treatment plan. At all times, explain your answers.

Summarize the clinical case.
Create a list of the patient’s problems and prioritize them.
Which pharmacological treatment would you prescribe? Include the rationale for this treatment.
Which non-pharmacological treatment would you prescribe? Include the rationale for this treatment.
Include an assessment of treatment’s appropriateness, cost, effectiveness, safety, and potential for patient adherence.

Student 1
The Bill of Rights were absolutely a necessary addition to the constitution. While some states voted to ratify the original Constitution (without the Bill of Rights) other states refused to ratify due to the perceived lack of individual protections in the document. These states sought to gain those protection while also limiting the overreaching power of the federal government; therefore, these states refused to ratify without the promise of certain rights being added (Krutz 2019). Additionally, each state as its individual entity (not part of a federal government) was already providing its citizens with certain rights. Some states were already offering trials by jury, freedom of religion, and the right to bear arms. However, with the formation of one federal government those protections needed to be offered and afforded to all individuals regardless of what state they lived in. The only way to guarantee those protections was to draft a bill of rights which detailed the protections and more importantly stated that the government could not infringe on said rights.
Student 2
The Bill of Rights was very much a necessary addition to the Constitution. The Bill of Rights was created because the Anti-Federalists believed that the government had to much power and they weren’t going to use it for good and that their rights were not protected. For example they believed that their rights would be violated if they were not put in writing. While the farmers believed that a stronger national government would allow the farmers to move into the western lands. (Krutz, 2020, 62) The Bill of Rights was created with just 10 amendments, but over the years they have added 17 amendments. Of those 17 amendments the 21st repeals the 18th amendment. (Krutz, 2020, 63). Five of the original 10 amendments were taken from the English Bill of Rights. (Krutz, 2020, 62-63) Of all of the amendments there are 4 amendments that are considered to be very important and they are the thirteenth, Fourteenth, Fifteenth, and Nineteenth Amendments. The thirteenth amendment abolished slavery, the fourteenth amendment gave African Americans citizenship, the fifteenth amendment gave African American men the right to vote, and the nineteenth amendment gave women the right to vote. (Krutz, 2020, 63-64) All of these are very important because they are amendments that created a more equal environment for men and women of all races and religions.
