Assessment Tools, Diagnostics, Growth, Measurement, and Nutrition in Adults and ChildrenundefinedMany experts predict that genetic testing for disease susceptibility is well on its way to becoming a routine part of clinical care. Yet many of the genetic tests currently being developed are, in the words of the World Health Organization (WHO), of “questionable prognostic value.”undefined—Leslie Pray, PhDundefinedObesity remains one of the most common chronic diseases in the United States. As a leading cause of United States mortality, morbidity, disability, healthcare utilization and healthcare costs, the high prevalence of obesity continues to strain the United States healthcare system (Obesity Society, 2016).  More than one-third (39.8%) of U.S. adults have obesity (CDC, 2018). The estimated annual medical cost of obesity in the U.S. was $147 billion in 2008 U.S. dollars; the medical costs for people who are obese were $1,429 higher than those of normal weight (CDC, 2018).undefinedAccording to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the rate of childhood obesity has tripled in the past 30 years, with an estimated 13.7 million children and adolescents considered obese (CDC, 2018). When seeking insights about a patient’s overall health and nutritional state, body measurements can provide a valuable perspective. This is particularly important with pediatric patients. Measurements such as height and weight can provide clues to potential health problems and help predict how children will respond to illness. Nurses need to be proficient at using assessment tools, such as the Body Mass Index (BMI) and growth charts, in order to assess nutrition-related health risks and pediatric development while being sensitive to other factors that may affect these measures. Body Mass Index is also used as a predictor for measurement of adult weight and health.Assessments are constantly being conducted on patients, but they may not provide useful information. In order to ensure that health assessments provide relevant data, nurses should familiarize themselves with test-specific factors that may affect the validity, reliability, and value of these tools.undefinedThis week, you will explore various assessment tools and diagnostic tests that are used to gather information about patients’ conditions. You will examine the validity and reliability of these tests and tools. You will also examine assessment techniques, health risks and concerns, and recommendations for care related to patient growth, weight, and nutrition.undefinedLearning ObjectivesundefinedStudents will:undefinedEvaluate validity and reliability of assessment tools and diagnostic testsAnalyze diversity considerations in health assessmentsApply concepts, theories, and principles related to examination techniques, functional assessments, and cultural and diversity awareness in health assessmentApply assessment skills to collect patient health historiesundefinedAssignment 1: Case Study Assignment: Assessment Tools and Diagnostic Tests in Adults and ChildrenundefinedWhen seeking to identify a patient’s health condition, advanced practice nurses can use a diverse selection of diagnostic tests and assessment tools; however, different factors affect the validity and reliability of the results produced by these tests or tools. Nurses must be aware of these factors in order to select the most appropriate test or tool and to accurately interpret the results.undefinedNot only do these diagnostic tests affect adults, body measurements can provide a general picture of whether a child is receiving adequate nutrition or is at risk for health issues. These data, however, are just one aspect to be considered. Lifestyle, family history, and culture—among other factors—are also relevant. That said, gathering and communicating this information can be a delicate process.undefinedFor this Assignment, you will consider the validity and reliability of different assessment tools and diagnostic tests. You will explore issues such as sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values. You will also consider examples of children with various weight issues. You will explore how you could effectively gather information and encourage parents and caregivers to be proactive about their children’s health and weight.undefinedTo PrepareundefinedReview this week’s Learning Resources and consider factors that impact the validity and reliability of various assessment tools and diagnostic tests. You also will review examples of pediatric patients and their families as it relates to BMI.Option 2 (Child), consider what health issues and risks may be relevant to the child in the health example.Based on the risks you identified, consider what further information you would need to gain a full understanding of the child’s health. solved In this reading session “Is That True?: Critical Thinking for

In this reading session “Is That True?: Critical Thinking for Sociologists 1st Edition, Kindle Edition,” Ch 4-7, we learned of the logic of social
science, that “critical thinking is an appropriate response to any and
all claims, regardless of the credentials of the people who make them”
(Best, 2021, p. 45), how sociology is organized as a discipline and how
envy can affect scholarship, and that we, as emerging or full-fledged
sociologists, do not need to choose team culture or team structure
wholeheartedly as it oversimplifies the social world. My book is
especially marked up this reading session, is yours? I had to laugh at
the philosophy envy examples as I knew someone in grad school who used
those exact words ALL the time! There are so many ideas to talk about
from insiders/outsiders to the types of envy sociologists may
internalize to the need/desire to impress others (both in our “camp” and
other disciplines) to the true goal of sociology and more. Can’t wait
to see what got you thinking! For your post, share ONE “big ideas” that was new or insightful for you.
Explain why this is significant to you and the scientific study of the
social world. Identify something you didn’t understand well or that
raised more questions for you. Be sure to use in-text citations when
appropriate and page numbers so others can easily find the passages
you’re discussing! My answer : The most significant insightful idea is that most new studies in sociology are conducted due to criticism of an original claim. Critical thinking is necessary for determining the evidence produced to support different sociological perspectives based on rationale, pattern, causality, and precedence (Best, 2021, p. 40). Explanations and their challenges must be evaluated to provide evidence and hold both to similarly high standards. The author states that “In discussions among scientists, challenges must be subject to the same sorts of evaluations as the arguments being challenged. That is, we expect both those offering explanations and those challenging them to support their claims with evidence, and all that evidence must be weighed and judged (Best, 2021, p. 43)”. Various social science claims receive criticism from within or outside, which may be triggered by limitations that affect research results. I have learned that criticism of original claims leads to new research being conducted to either replicate the first study or use different procedures to determine if the original techniques may have shaped the findings. The best available evidence for sociology and social sciences is subject to critical evaluation and critical thinking (Best, 2021, p. 45). The idea is significant because it helps me understand how new research is established and the importance of criticism to a study. From the readings, what has been challenging to understand is the tragedy and comedy section. What makes it possible for sociologists to view their research in tragic terms and not in a comical way? The research should not focus on the plights of the individuals but can rely on their abilities which can be used to improve their lives. Therefore, the inclination of many researchers towards pessimism needs to be expounded further. How can we differentiate research from being pessimistic or optimistic? I want to explore the perspectives of pessimists and optimists further to understand the two better.ReferencesBest, J. (2021). Is that true?: Critical thinking for sociologists. University of California Press. My classmates posts: 1- Ailin Martinez-Vela As I was reading chapters 5 through 7 of Is that True? I came across an idea that was insightful to me. Joel Best claims that “It is more challenging to recognize our own culture; being immersed in it, we simply assume that our understanding of the world is correct, normal, sensible” (2021, p.79). This stood out to me because it is important to be aware of our own culture because it helps us from projecting our own values and morals onto others. Learning about other cultures helps us understand other perspective within the world. It helps us minimize stereotypes about groups in society. It is easy to get lost in our own world and forget that there is much more than what we are aware of. This statement is significant to the study of social world because being aware of cultural differences allows sociologist to “rely on comparisons”. This allows us to understand how we all play a role in society (Best, 2021, pg.79). 2- Kenia Tijera :One idea that was very interesting to me was the culture and social structure paragraphs and the points that the author gives us in order to look for evidence and get the facts about any information we have for the research. “It makes more sense to weight the evidence to determine when and how culture and social structure have an impact” (p.68). The explanations are very helpful to understand some points for example, why we need to have evidence if we want to have a reliable research instead of our opinions that will shape the results of the research differently. One thing that makes sense but did not really understand why is the peer reviewed articles only reviewed by the associations from that same school. For your TWO peer replies, engage with the author by elaborating, comparing or contrasting, sharing counterpoints, or drawing connections to specific course concepts. This is an opportunity to demonstrate critical thinking, so avoid simplistic replies that mainly repeat Best’s or your classmate’s contributions (e.g. “I agree” or restating the author’s ideas). Try to bring something new, insightful, or provocative to the discussion! You want to further the conversation by adding new ideas, information, or perspectives. It’s OK to play “devil’s advocate”, just let others know so we’re all on the same page. Be sure to use in-text citations when appropriate and page numbers so others can easily find the passages you’re discussing! Write about 5- 6 sentencs paragraphs

solved nstructionsFinal Project Information Throughout this course, you will complete assignments

nstructionsFinal Project Information Throughout this course, you will complete assignments that lead up to a final project. The project, titled “Consultant to the Client Organization,” is based on a scenario presented below. It may be helpful to refer back to this scenario as you complete each assignment.Consultant to the Client OrganizationFig Technologies is a global technology solutions firm with offices around the globe. Fig Technologies’ corporate headquarters is just outside Mobile, Alabama. Fig recently acquired several smaller firms in different regions to expand its products and service lines. Assimilating the processes, systems, and human capital has presented a significant challenge. The leadership has chosen to bring in an outside firm to address concerns. You are the consultant from that firm, The Solution Group. In each of the assignments in this course, you will be given a scenario to address the concern that is presented. You will be expected to develop assessment, analysis, and research in order to support your proposed solution. Often, you will be asked to present the top three solutions for the concern and support your answer. Use of course materials (textbook and required readings) and external credible materials is strongly encouraged. The scenario is not intended to have a set answer but to develop critical thinking on what can often be very emotional and opinion-based topics. Consider carefully your position and how you will support the proposed solutions. Grading will not require simply meeting format standards and word count. It will require substantive content, research, and critical thinking. Each assignment will be a section of a comprehensive report that will be submitted to the Fig Technologies Executive Leadership Council (ELC) in written form in Unit VII. The presentation will be made in Unit VIII. Consider as you work on each assignment how it will fit into the final report that will be sent to the ELC for review. The final report will include recommendations for continued improvement regarding managing diversity in the organization. The project serves as an opportunity to stretch your thinking and your organizational skills whether you are a business or human resources major. Working in an organization or being contracted to an organization will require this type of thinking from you as to how you will handle diversity issues within an organization. The project and the course will allow you to build a solid foundation to build upon while also enriching your resource library on the topic for future business world opportunities. Click here to download a copy of these instructions for the project scenario. Fair Treatment of EthnicitiesThe Executive Leadership Council (ELC) has authorized The Solution Group, (the company you work for) to assess assimilation of recent transfers into the workplace environment in the newly opened IT division of Fig Technologies in Tyler, Texas. The Tyler IT division was aligned with its counterparts in Qatar and Germany. In an effort to assimilate the newly formed virtual teams, a contingent from each of the three offices went to the other offices for a two-month immersion. The purpose of the short-term exchange was to learn culture, process, and systems. Some hostilities have been reported in all three offices by team members as to difficulties with the visiting team members. The ELC wants more information. Your objective is to determine how to assess the assimilation progress of workers to different people and cultures. Is there acceptance? What are possible roadblocks and obstacles (e.g., language, common terminology, customs, and work ethics). As a consultant, how would you complete this assessment and report results? Your assignment instructions are as follows: Introduce the composition of the three 10-member teams in each of the sites. You do not need names, though you should develop an ethnically diverse team of locals and visitors from the other respective worksites and national cultures. Explore the differences in culture, perspective, and experience of your team. Include whether the work culture in these countries is individualistic or collective. This section should be 200 words, approximately half of a page. Develop a short assessment tool in order to measure assimilation. Tools may include one of the following: a survey (no more than 10 questions), an interview (no more than 10 questions), or natural observation (approximately half of a page, including a copy of the assessment tool questions). The CSU Online Library is a great place to find information about research questions. Assessment and results: Develop a one and a half-page summary of your assessment results and how you determined these results based on the answers. The results must address the challenges of these three dynamic cultures and perspectives working together in a live, onsite, and remote environment. Also, identify the demographic data and cultures that make up the organization and how these relate to the U.S. population. Show how you will analyze and use this data in your assessment. Present your three approaches for improving assimilation onsite. Support your approaches. This section should be approximately half of a page. Your completed homework assignment should be three to four pages in length, not counting your references page. No title page is required. The report will require you, as the hired consultant, to review briefly the cultures in play in this scenario. What would be challenges these teams might face? Work ethics, religions, systems, cognitive processes, and cultural dynamics are all factors. You are required to use at least two outside sources for this assignment—one of which may be the textbook. You are encouraged to use the CSU Online Library. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations. All references and citations used must be in APA style.

Determine how a particular organizational culture or hierarchy might affect or contribute to adverse quality and safety outcomes.COMPETENCY
Determine how specific organizational functions, policies, processes, procedures, norms, and behaviors can be used to build reliable and high-performing organizations.
NON_PERFORMANCE
Does not determine how a particular organizational culture or hierarchy might affect or contribute to adverse quality and safety outcomes.
COMMENTS:
Your submission did not address how the organization culture or leadership might affect or contribute to adverse safety outcomes. This is important areas to identify so that you understand what needs to be changed in order to improve the organization’s culture.
Write an analysis, 4-5 pages in length, of the gap between current and desired performance, with respect to the provision of safe, high-quality patient care.
Introduction
Note: Each assessment in this course builds on the work you completed in the previous assessment. Therefore, you must complete the assessments in this course in the order in which they are presented.
As a nurse leader, you must be able to assess your organization’s ability to deliver safe, high-quality patient care. In so doing, you may be required to perform a gap analysis of a quality or safety issue as the first step in improving outcomes. Failure to meet benchmarks for safe and effective patient care can have reimbursement, regulatory, and legal consequences.
This assessment provides an opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to successfully implement changes that improve patient outcomes by:
Evaluating the current culture of an organization.
Performing an outcomes gap analysis.
Determining what changes are needed to bridge the gap.
Examining current thinking on this topic contained in the literature.
Quality and safety are everyone’s responsibility as a team of interprofessional care delivery partners. Together we develop policies that support quality and safe care delivery. As part of the interprofessional team, nurses are leaders in care and thus are responsible and accountable for leading and providing safe quality care.
Health care delivery is structured around evidenced-based information. Quality is defined by exploring proven, evidenced-based information. After reviewing and defining evidenced-based information, the interprofessional team applies this knowledge to assess the organization’s or the practice setting’s ability to provide evidenced-based care delivery. When a gap in care is identified, it is important to propose an evidenced-based change and to execute a plan for improved care.
Your quality and safety gap analysis will provide the basis for the remaining assessments in this course.
Preparation
As a nurse leader, you are fully aware of the hazardous nature of health care and that organizations must continually seek to improve the quality and safety of the care they provide to patients. For this assessment, you will identify a systemic problem in your organization, practice setting, or area of interest associated with adverse quality and safety outcomes (for example, an increase in the incidence of falls or medical errors) and analyze the gap between current and desired performance.
Note: Remember that you can submit all or a portion of your draft analysis to Smarthinking for feedback before you submit the final version for this assessment. However, be mindful of the turnaround time of 24–48 hours for receiving feedback, if you plan on using this free service.
As you prepare to complete this assessment, you may want to think about other related issues to deepen your understanding or broaden your viewpoint. You are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of your professional community. Note that these questions are for your own development and exploration and do not need to be completed or submitted as part of your assessment.
Culture and process contribute to our ability to develop and sustain quality and safety in a health care organization. By exploring these topics, you can analyze where you may have gaps in practice that affect outcomes. In addition, organizations must create benchmarks for outcomes to determine whether they are meeting quality and safety goals.
What does your organization measure, related to quality and safety, and why?
Are there certain aspects of your organization’s culture and processes that support or hinder quality and safety?
Is the organization meeting outcome measurement benchmarks?
If not, how might you address those gaps in performance? What system could be developed to support a change to close a particular gap?
The following resources are required to complete the assessment.
APA Style Paper Template [DOCX]. Use this template for your gap analysis.
Requirements
Note: The requirements outlined below correspond to the grading criteria in the Quality and Safety Gap Analysis Scoring Guide. Be sure that your written analysis addresses each point, at a minimum. You may also want to read the Quality and Safety Gap Analysis Scoring Guide and Guiding Questions: Quality and Safety Gap Analysis [DOCX] to better understand how each criterion will be assessed.
Conducting the Analysis
Identify a systemic problem in your organization, practice setting, or area of interest that contributes to adverse quality and safety outcomes.
Propose specific practice changes that will improve quality and safety outcomes and bridge the gap between current and desired performance.
Prioritize proposed practice changes.
Determine how proposed practice changes will foster a culture of quality and safety.
Determine how a particular organizational culture or hierarchy might affect quality and safety outcomes.
Justify necessary changes with respect to functions, processes, or behaviors, specific to your organization.
Writing and Supporting Evidence

solved Create a 3-5-page submission in which you develop a PICO(T)

Create a 3-5-page submission in which you develop a PICO(T) question for a specific care issue and evaluate the evidence you locate, which could help to answer the question.PICO(T) is an acronym that helps researchers and practitioners define aspects of a potential study or investigation. It stands for:P – Patient/population/problem.I – Intervention.C – Comparison (of potential interventions, typically).O – Outcome(s).T – Time frame (if time frame is relevant). The end goal of applying PICO(T) is to develop a question that can help guide the search for evidence (Boswell Cannon, 2015). From this perspective, a PICO(T) question can be a valuable starting point for nurses who are starting to apply an evidence-based model or EBPs. By taking the time to precisely define the areas in which the nurse will be looking for evidence, searches become more efficient and effective. Essentially, by precisely defining the types of evidence within specific areas, the nurse will be more likely to discover relevant and useful evidence during their search. You are encouraged to complete the Vila Health PCI(T) Process activity before you develop the plan proposal. This activity offers an opportunity to practice working through creating a PICO(T) question within the context of an issue at a Vila Health facility. These skills will be necessary to complete Assessment 3 successfully. This is for your own practice and self-assessment and demonstrates your engagement in the course.Demonstration of ProficiencyBy successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the course competencies through the following assessment scoring guide criteria:Competency 1: Interpret findings from scholarly quantitative, qualitative, and outcomes research articles and studies.Explain the findings from articles or other sources of evidence.Competency 2: Analyze the relevance and potential effectiveness of evidence when making a decision.Identify sources of evidence that could be potentially effective in answering a PICO(T) question.Explain the relevance of the findings from chosen sources of evidence to making decision related to a PICO(T) question.Competency 3: Apply an evidence-based practice model to address a practice issue.Define a practice issue to be explored via a PICO(T) approach.Competency 5: Apply professional, scholarly communication strategies to lead practice changes based on evidence.Communicate using writing that is clear, logical, and professional with correct grammar and spelling using current APA style.ReferenceBoswell, C., Cannon, S. (2015). Introduction to nursing research. Burlington, MA: Jones Bartlett Learning.Professional ContextAs a baccalaureate-prepared nurse, you will be responsible for locating and identifying credible and scholarly resources to incorporate the best available evidence for the purposes of enhancing clinical reasoning and judgement skills. When reliable and relevant evidence-based findings are utilized, patients, health care systems, and nursing practice outcomes are positively impacted.PICO(T) is a framework that can help you structure your definition of the issue, potential approach that you are going to use, and your predictions related to the issue. Word choice is important in the PICO(T) process because different word choices for similar concepts will lead you toward different existing evidence and research studies that would help inform the development of your initial question.ScenarioFor this assessment, please use an issue of interest from your current or past nursing practice. If you do not have an issue of interest from your personal nursing practice, then review the optional Case Studies presented in the resources and select one of those as the basis for your assessment.InstructionsFor this assessment, select an issue of interest an apply the PICO(T) process to define the question and research it.Your initial goal is to define the population, intervention, comparison, and outcome. In some cases, a time frame is relevant and you should include that as well, when writing a question you can research related to your issue of interest. After you define your question, research it, and organize your initial findings, select the two sources of evidence that seem the most relevant to your question and analyze them in more depth. Specifically, interpret each source’s specific findings and best practices related to your issues, as well explain how the evidence would help you plan and make decisions related to your question. If you need some structure to organize your initial thoughts and research, the PICOT Question and Research Template document (accessible from the “Create PICO(T) Questions” page in the Capella library’s Evidence Based Practice guide) might be helpful. In your submission, make sure you address the following grading criteria:Define a practice issue to be explored via a PICO(T) approach.Identify sources of evidence that could be potentially effective in answering a PICO(T) question.Explain the findings from articles or other sources of evidence.Explain the relevance of the findings from chosen sources of evidence to making decision related to a PICO(T) question.Communicate using writing that is clear, logical, and professional with correct grammar and spelling using the current APA style.Example Assessment: You may use the following to give you an idea of what a Proficient or higher rating on the scoring guide would look like:Assessment 3 Example [PDF].Additional RequirementsYour assessment should meet the following requirements:Length of submission: Create a 3–5-page submission focused on defining a research question and interpreting evidence relevant to answering it.Number of references: Cite a minimum of four sources of scholarly or professional evidence that support your findings and considerations. Resources should be no more than 5 years old.APA formatting: Format references and citations according to the current APA style.

solved This assignment is designed to help you question: what is

This assignment is designed to help you question: what is and isn’t interpersonal communication; what actually counts as qualitative communication between two or more people; and what the value of images are in place of words when we communicate with one another. During the first three lessons of the semester, we have discussed how humans create patterns of interaction together; how technology shape our understandings of self, other, and society (Lesson 1); the role of language in (re)producing these patterns (Lesson 2); how these patterns may relate to co-cultural connections and insights, and maybe even power and privilege (Lesson 3). Given that we make a lot of assumptions about the quality of our communication with others, our reliance on technology and even images, and how effective we are as communicators, this assignment will help us resituate our communication in the lens of qualitative interpersonal communication.InstructionsUsing only emoji (but neither numerical ones nor bitmoji), gifs, and/or memes, your task is to communicate an important message (from a variety of example scenarios below) to a friend or family member via text messaging. You are not allowed to use any typed words, and you cannot call your friend or family member to explain this assignment to them before, as that defeats the whole purpose of it. You will also screenshot and share the images of your conversation and reference them as part of your writeup and analysis. You should use one of the example scenarios I have created or that you springboard off of them. If you are not comfortable doing one of the scenarios, though, or if you can come up with something more fun, please feel free to create your own—but you must clear it through me first. If you opt to create your own scenario, please think outside of the box, but please do not do anything that will harm another or that will damage a relationship.ScenariosSCENARIO I: THE BREAK UPCommunicate that you’ve broken up with your partner/girlfriend/boyfriend and explain how it happened. Try to be as clear as possible about the break up.SCENARIO II: MET SOMONE NEWCommunicate that you’ve met someone new that you are interested in and explain how it happened. Explain what you like about this other person too. Try to be as clear as possible.SCENARIO III: I FAILED!Communicate that you failed an exam in a specific class (e.g., Anatomy and Physiology, Japanese, South East Asian History). Clarify the grade you got and why you earned a poor grade, and see if the other person understands which class you actually did poorly in. Try to be as clear as possible.SCENARIO IV: CAR BROKE DOWNCommunicate that your car is broken down and that you need assistance. Try to explain what you think the problem is with your car (please, not flat tires!), and try to explain what kind of assistance you need. Try to be as clear as possible.SCENARIO V: I GOT A PET!Communicate that you got a pet animal, explain what kind it is (and try to be as specific as possible in terms of size and breed), and tell the other person where you got it from. Try to be as clear as possible.SCENARIO VI: LET’S GO GET FOOD!Communicate that you want to either go grocery shopping or that you want to go out to lunch or dinner. In either case, explain what you want to buy/eat and where you want to go. Try to get the other person to understand and to agree on a place to go and a time to go. Try to be as clear as possible.SCENARIO VII: I GOT A JOB!Communicate that you got a new job, what it is, where it is, and when you start. Try to get the other person to understand what you job title is and what you are doing. Try to be as clear as possible.SCENARIO VIII: I WON!Communicate that you won a race/game/activity and explain which race/game/activity you won (i.e., if you won a board game, you need to make sure the other person knows which one it was) and what your time was or how you won. Try to be as clear as possible.SCENARIO IX: I’M LOSTCommunicate that you are lost and you don’t know how to get to a certain destination. Try to get the other person to understand that you are lost and, if possible, to offer you help to get to a certain destination. Try to be as clear as possible.Activity GuidelinesIf you feel the conversation is potentially damaging your relationship with the person you are communicating, stop and tell them that it is for your class. You should not continue the activity at the peril of your friend or family member. As soon as the interaction is over, tell the the person you were communicating with that this was an activity for class about communicating only in imagery. You must explain which scenario you chose; how difficult/easy the communication was; whether you were understood or not (and how you know you were understood if you believe you were); and how using only visual media helped or hindered your communication with the other person. You must apply at least one course concept from the first three weeks of class material (i.e., a minimum of at least three course concepts, each from a different lesson in your paper). You must clearly define the concept, correctly cite the concept, and offer an explanation in your own words of the concept. You must have a clear introduction, thesis, preview and conclusion. You must reference the conversation you had by linking it to specific images included in your post. You must address and apply the concepts to your life and not discuss them in a detached way.Ask yourself:Are these concepts addressed accurately? (Have I explained them well?)Are these concepts addressed adequately? (Have I discussed the concepts in depth?)Do these concepts appear interconnected as explained?Do my examples and overall application of each concept make sense?Does my post read well from beginning to end? (Have I made sure to check for grammatical and/or other proofreading errors?)Did I correctly cite all class readings or interactive lecture notes using APA style?

Provide one evidence-based scholarly article as a reference to support clinical decision making. This assignment will be graded on the quality of the information, inclusion of one evidence-based scholarly resource, use of citations, use of Standard English grammar, and organization based on the required components (see the paper headings and content details in Part 1).The length of the paper is to be between 1,000 and 1,500 words, excluding title page and reference list.Create this assignment using Microsoft (MS) Word. You can tell that the document is saved as a MS Word document because it will end in “.docx.”APA format is required in this assignment, explicitly for in-text citations and the reference list. Use 12-point Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins and double spacing. See the APA manual for details regarding proper citation. See resources under Course Resources, “Guidelines for Writing Professional Papers” for further clarification.* Scholarly Sources: Only scholarly sources are acceptable for citation and reference in this course. These include peer-reviewed publications, government reports, or sources written by a professional or scholar in the field. The textbooks and lessons are NOT considered to be outside scholarly sources. For the threaded discussions and reflection posts, reputable internet sources such as websites by government agencies (URL ends in .gov) and respected organizations (often ends in .org) can be counted as scholarly sources. The best outside scholarly source to use is a peer-reviewed nursing journal.  You are encouraged to use the Chamberlain library and search one of the available databases for a peer-reviewed journal article.  The following sources should not be used: Wikipedia, Wikis, or blogs.  These websites are not considered scholarly as anyone can add to these. Please be aware that .com websites can vary in scholarship and quality.  For example, the American Heart Association is a .com site with scholarship and quality.  It is the responsibility of the student to determine the scholarship and quality of any .com site.  Ask your instructor before using any site if you are unsure. Points will be deducted from the rubric if the site does not demonstrate scholarship or quality. Current outside scholarly sources must be published with the last 5 years.  Instructor permission must be obtained BEFORE the assignment is due if using a source that is older than 5 years.

solved Section One: Choose one of the three Case Studies focusing

Section One:
Choose one of the three Case Studies focusing on a family in crisis. Each member of the family has unique issues that you must address. You must also determine the primary problems (this may include diagnostic impressions but not formal diagnoses), intervention, prevention, and education required to assist the family. In your project, do the following:

Identify the client and the presenting problem or symptoms. Briefly explain if anyone else is involved and how they contribute to the problem. Explain if anyone other than the “identified client” also could be identified as a client. If so, describe who and why.
Briefly describe any underlying problems or potential mental health diagnoses contributing to the primary problem that should be noted as you proceed with the client.
Briefly describe the presenting problem from the family’s perspective and what theoretical perspective you will use to assess, analyze, and develop a treatment plan for this case.
Identify the unique needs of each individual in the family.
Briefly describe the culture of the family, societal expectations, gender roles, and cultural norms. Briefly explain how each of these might contribute to the problem.
Briefly explain the child and adolescent culture and at least one general contributing factor to the identified issue and explain how this may or may not impact the family dynamics.
Describe one intervention you might use for the identified client that would address the presenting problem and any related psychosocial factors.
Justify your intervention with evidence-based research to support the use of the interventions you have identified.
Briefly describe one preventative technique that you might use to reduce the likelihood of further crisis or the perpetuation of the current crisis.

Section Two:
Reflect on your journal entries throughout the course and consider what you may have learned about yourself as a future clinician working with children, adolescents, and families. Explain any areas of strength you have identified by completing this course that will assist you in working with children, adolescents, and families.

Explain any areas of strength you identified as you worked on this course that will assist you in working with children, adolescents, and families.
Explain any areas of knowledge you might want to further develop to become more effective as a clinician working with children, adolescents, and families.
Explain any insights you had or conclusions you drew as you worked on this course regarding your interest in becoming a clinician that works with children and adolescents.

The Final Project will be evaluated according to all four indicators in the Final Project Rubric located in the Course Information area. Be sure that the Final Project is written using APA format. The Final Project is a descriptive narrative divided in two sections. Section One requires you to analyze a case study of a family in crisis, to include a child, an adolescent, and a set of parents. Section Two is a self-reflection of your abilities to be an effective clinician who works with children, adolescents, and families.
This Final Project is a 6- to 8-page paper and will be due Day 3 of Week 11. Include the following sections in your Final Project:

solved The Essay Three writing project requires you to a write

The Essay Three writing project requires you to a write an definition essay in which you provide the meaning of the the term stereotype threat by making use of the things that are listed directly below:
1. Ideas expressed by social psychologist Claude Steele. Such ideas can come from the Hidden Braininterview or any of the articles by Steele that are listed on the web page where the Hidden Braininterview can be accessed (go here to access that web page).
2. Ideas about crime, punishment, or justice — or ideas having to do with any combination of the themes of crimes, punishment, or justice. Ideas about these themes can be represented by personal experience (yours or someone else’s) or by anything else that is relevant.
3. Elements found in the young adult novel I’m Not Dying with You Tonight. Such elements can include actions, setting, characters, scenes, dialogue, symbolism, themes, phrases, or any combination of these elements and more.
Your completed essay will therefore be layered with content that relates to items 1, 2, and 3. How and where you include this content within the body of your essay is up to you; even so, your paper should be organized logically. Can your essay have other layers? The answer is yes. In fact, your definition essay can include historically, socially, or culturally relevant content that goes beyond what you are required to include in your essay, such as, perhaps, something that comes from the B-CU panel discussion featuring Kimberly Jones and Gilly Segal.
What is the purpose of a definition essay? A definition essay is what it sounds like: it is a paper designed to give a definition in an elaborated form. That said, it is an extended definition of a term that uses the structure of an essay to provide meaning, so it has an introduction, body, and conclusion just like other essays do.
Now let’s consider what a thesis statement might look like for the Essay Three assignment. What follows are two examples for your consideration.
Thesis Statement for Paper A: The thought patterns of the black and white female protagonists in the novel I’m Not Dying with You Tonight represent at times the definition of the concept known as stereotype threat.
Thesis Statement for Paper B: In this paper, I will show that while one way to provide the meaning of stereotype threat is to use Claude Steele’s definition, there are scenes from the novel I’m Not Dying with You Tonight and situations from my own life that also provide other ways to convey the meaning of this term.
The student writing Paper A could develop a paper that is akin to a psychoanalysis of Lena and Campbell. Paper A could therefore examine how the novel depicts what’s going on in the two characters’ heads in order to show how the internal workings of the two characters’ minds illustrate the concept of stereotype threat as articulated by Claude Steele. Paper A would also touch on crime, punishment, or justice, depending on whichever one of these three themes is relevant.
The student writing Paper B could compare what Claude Steele says stereotype threat is to the student’s own unique definition of the term. In so doing, the student writing Paper B could match Steele’s definition to a version of the definition created by the student that makes use of specific scenes from the novel and specific situations from the student writer’s own life. Paper B would also touch on crime, punishment, or justice, depending on whichever one of these three themes is relevant.
You should try to come up with your own original thesis statement. (Go here for a video tutorial on how to write a definition essay)
Regardless of what your paper’s thesis is, your definition essay must also include:
*At least 1800 words of double-spaced content that is written in a 12-point, Times New Roman font.
*In-text citations from the novel I’m Not Dying with You Tonight.
*At least one in-text citation that is specifically about or specifically from Claude Steele’s work focusing on stereotype threat. This in-text citation can either come from the Hidden Brain interview or one of the articles by Steele listed on the web page containing the audio interview.
*A thesis or position statement in the first paragraph of your essay. Your paper’s first paragraph should be an overview or map for the entire paper itself.
*Proper paragraphing. Every paragraph should therefore have a topic sentence and other sentences that provide supporting details.
^A conclusion paragraph or area that leaves the reader with a point to ponder.
*A separate Works Cited page that is in addition to the 1,800 essay that you are required to submit.
Other considerations:
No one quote used by you needs to be more than three lines long, so every quote that you use can be a group of words that spans one to three lines in a paragraph. In other words, avoid using block quotes that are four lines or longer. The quoted material you use should have an introductory element to lead into the quote and parenthetical reference that comes after the quote. For example: Wright’s novel states, “Somebody tried to leap at him, but was caught by the policemen and held back” (337). In the example of the quote that is given here, the three words come right before the the comma (Wright’s novel states) and the quotation itself are introductory words that lead into the quote, and the parentheses flanking the number 337 represent the parenthetical references. A parenthetical references always comes after the ending quotation mark and before the period that completes the sentence.  All the individual quotes used in your paper should be a variation of the example I have given here — an introductory word or set of words, then a comma, then the quote before the parenthetical reference.
Your paper should not merely be a plot analysis or something akin to a book report. In other words, avoid doing an extensive summary of what happens in the novel by Jones and Segal.Stereotype threat

solved Question 1Integrated Waveguide Technologies (IWT) is a 6-year-old company founded

Question 1Integrated Waveguide Technologies (IWT) is a 6-year-old company founded by Hunt Jackson and David Smithfield to exploit metamaterial plasmonic technology to develop and manufacture miniature microwave frequency directional transmitters and receivers for use in mobile Internet and communications applications. IWT’s technology, although highly advanced, is relatively inexpensive to implement, and its patented manufacturing techniques require little capital as compared to many electronics fabrication ventures. Because of the low capital requirement, Jackson and Smithfield have been able to avoid issuing new stock and thus own all of the shares. Because of the explosion in demand for its mobile Internet applications, IWT must now access outside equity capital to fund its growth, and Jackson and Smithfield have decided to take the company public. Until now, Jackson and Smithfield have paid themselves reasonable salaries but routinely reinvested all after-tax earnings in the firm, so dividend policy has not been an issue. However, before talking with potential outside investors, they must decide on a dividend policy. Your new boss at the consulting firm Flick and Associates, which has been retained to help IWT prepare for its public offering, has asked you to make a presentation to Jackson and Smithfield in which you review the theory of dividend policy and discuss the following issues.a. (1) What is meant by the term “distribution policy”? How has the mix of dividend payouts and stock repurchases changed over time?(2) The terms “irrelevance,” “dividend preference” (or “bird-in-the-hand”), and “tax effect” have been used to describe three major theories regarding the way dividend payouts affect a firm’s value. Explain these terms, and briefly describe each theory.(3) What do the three theories indicate regarding the actions management should take with respect to dividend payouts?(4) What results have empirical studies of the dividend theories produced? How does all this affect what we can tell managers about dividend payouts?b. Discuss the effects on distribution policy consistent with: (1) the signaling hypothesis (also called the information content hypothesis) and (2) the clientele effect.c. (1) Assume that IWT has completed its IPO and has a $112.5 million capital bud-get planned for the coming year. You have determined that its present capital structure (80% equity and 20% debt) is optimal, and its net income is forecasted at $140 million. Use the residual distribution approach to determine IWT’s total dollar distribution. Assume for now that the distribution is in the form of a dividend. Suppose IWT has 100 million shares of stock outstanding. What is the forecasted dividend payout ratio? What is the forecasted dividend per share? What would happen to the payout ratio and DPS if net income were forecasted to decrease to $90 million? To increase to $160 million?(2) In general terms, how would a change in investment opportunities affect the payout ratio under the residual distribution policy?(3) What are the advantages and disadvantages of the residual policy? (Hint: Don’t neglect signaling and clientele effects.)d. (1) Describe the procedures a company follows when it makes a distribution through dividend payments.(2) What is a stock repurchase? Describe the procedures a company follows when it makes a distribution through a stock repurchase.e. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a firm repurchasing its own shares. f. Suppose IWT has decided to distribute $50 million, which it presently is holding in liquid short-term investments. IWT’s value of operations is estimated to be about $1,937.5 million; it has $387.5 million in debt and zero preferred stock. As mentioned previously, IWT has 100 million shares of stock outstanding.(1) Assume that IWT has not yet made the distribution. What is IWT’s intrinsic value of equity? What is its intrinsic stock price per share?2) Now suppose that IWT has just made the $50 million distribution in the form of dividends. What is IWT’s intrinsic value of equity? What is its intrinsic stock price per share?(3) Suppose instead that IWT has just made the $50 million distribution in the form of a stock repurchase. Now what is IWT’s intrinsic value of equity? How many shares did IWT repurchase? How many shares remained outstanding after the repurchase? What is its intrinsic stock price per share after the repurchase?g. Describe the series of steps that most firms take when setting dividend policy. h. What are stock splits and stock dividends? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?i. What is a dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP), and how does it work?Question 2Gamut Satellite Inc. produces satellite earth stations that sell for $150,000 each. The firm’s fixed costs, F, are $1.5 million, 20 earth stations are produced and sold each year, profits total $400,000, and the firm’s assets (all equity financed) are $5 million. The firm estimates that it can change its production process, adding $10 million to assets and $500,000 to fixed operating costs. This change will reduce variable costs per unit by $5,000 and increase output by 30 units. However, the sales price on all units must be lowered to $140,000 to permit sales of the additional output. The firm has tax loss carryforwards that render its tax rate zero, its cost of equity is 18%, and it uses no debt.Determine the variable cost per unitDetermine the new profit if the change is madeWhat is the incremental profit? What is the projects expected rate of return for the next year (defined as the incremental profit divided by the investment)?Should the firm make the investment? Why or why not?Would the firm’s break-even point increase or decrease if it made the change?Would the new situation expose the firm to more or less business risk than the old one?
