posting a one-paragraph response to that Discussion’s readings and posing one discussion question that we may use for interaction or for lecture-discussion. Please also reply to at least two of your peer’s responses. The responses are not academic essays but rather opportunities for you to meaningfully engage with the themes of the readings. Simply summarizing the readings will only achieve you 10 points, your interpretation or analysis would add 10 more points, the discussion question 5 points, and the interaction with your peers 5 more points for a total of 30 points per posting. Consider what concept, idea, or takeaway did you find most meaningful? As the quarter progress, your goal is to further develop your analytic skills. Eventually, your postings should engage the readings’ content and draw connections between readings. Important: 1) Plagiarized/copied responses will earn 0 points, 2) posts should be at least 125 words, and 3) good luck. Please reply to these two students.A: After reading this reading the authors that were involved in these Taco Shop journeys were able to relate to the audience by saying words like “if you’re a student with an uncertain future, books under your arm and a notebook full of unnecessary notes step right up.” These authors made readers step into the shoes of the people of Mexico and how they feel on a daily basis. It is the feeling of hopelessness and belittled. It is the feeling that you don’t know what your future holds, but you have to continue anyways. In another poem by Pat Payne, he wrote, “ I chase freedom, I seek freedom” all throughout his piece as a way of saying to never give up. These poems were made to feel how much agony the people of Tijuana felt going through the border. How Mexicans day by day are still chasing the life that they see their next door neighbors living, but could never get there because of where they came from. What stood out to me most was this quote from La Linea, “Will we ever ever really ever cross the line or will we just sit encumbered by the borders of our own minds?” The feeling of freedom will never be met because the border is still heavily rooted in the memory of every Mexican. Those who were able to make a life for themselves after crossing the border will never be able to let go of this chase for freedom because they don’t know how it is supposed to feel like. My question to the Tacoshop poets is, why did Mary Kay describe Tijuana as a Cardboard City? I wonder if it is because the city is heavy duty and meant to carry the pain or because it is fragile.B: This reading made me think about how different every city is depending on the demographic and socio economic status of the population living in the city is. Tijuana for example is associated with crime, drugs, and poverty therefore they lack a lot of resources or if there is resources it is unaccessible for the people due to the lack of money or lack of transportation. Then as mentioned in one of the poems you have La Jolla which is a very nice city where all the houses you see are million dollar houses that are owned by millionaires. I liked the first poem Gas Stations and Cemeteries where it says “they want everything in a hurry and we want everything eternal” because the U.S doesn’t see what their actions will cause long term all they care about is making money in the moment regardless of who they exploit or what they destroy. All minorities ask for is stability because countries like the U.S and Europe have completely destabilized countries like Mexico and the people continue to suffer the consequences of capitalism while the rich continue to get richer.

Look for humanities-based articles that discuss topics related to your own paper topic that are about either your primary sources or the historical period and location of your primary sources. Do not use articles from the natural or social sciences, articles that are about the present or a time period different than the time period of your primary sources, that are about a different location than your primary sources (Europe, Britain, America). You may use sources from previous Annotated Bibliographies so long as they fit the above requirements and are still helpful to your analysis. However, as you revise Paper 3, you may find you need to find different scholarly articles. Include an MLA-formatted citation and an annotation that briefly summarizes your source (its argument) and explains how you will use it in Paper 3 . Topic: The representation of gender. How do the primary sources represent gendered behavior and aptitudes? What are seen as the “essential” characteristics of men and women? What aspects of gender and gender roles are represented as learned or as performative? How does gender interact and overlap with other issues such as race, progress, technology, and/or sexuality? Annotation:ï‚·Summary: In 2-3 sentences, provide an overview of your source. This will both help you to remember what your source was about when it comes time to write A3, but it will also serve as a good exercise: can you summarize the main argument and important points of your source? If your source is a book, you may just need to read the introduction, conclusion, and a relevant chapter (or skim the chapter) in order to write the annotation. With articles, read the abstract, introduction and thesis, subheadings, and conclusion; you might also read the first and last sentences of body paragraphs. ï‚·Connection: In 1-2 sentences, explain why this source is relevant to your research. Be as specific as possible here because it will help you to think about your paper’s argument and whether/how to use the source in question. After doing this exercise, you may find that a source is not so relevant to your research after all. Or you may discover a relevance you didn’t anticipate. In addition, you may be able to figure out where the source fits into your argument, which will help you organize your sources and see gaps in your research.Sample Entry:Costa Vargas, Joao H. University of Minnesota Press, 2006.This book details the experiences of the black community in South Central, Los Angeles, in particular the effects that economic shifts occurring since the 1980s have had on the black working class and poor. It tells this larger story of economic change and the repercussions of that change through ethnography, providing personal accounts of the individuals who live in South Central. Several of these individual narratives will provide support for my claims about the way that the proposed University Village renovation will raise the cost of living and cause financial hardship for residents of surrounding communities.

solved Case study: As the world’s population nears 10 billion by

Case study: As the world’s population nears 10 billion by 2050, the effects of global warming are stripping some natural resources from the environment. As they diminish in number, developing countries will face mounting obstacles to improving the livelihoods of their citizens and stabilizing their access to enough food. The reason these governments are struggling even now is that our climate influences their economic health and the consequent diminishing living standards of their peoples. Climate changes are responsible for the current loss of biodiversity as well as the physical access to some critical farming regions. As such, these changes in global weather patterns diminish agricultural output and the distribution of food to local and international markets. These difficulties will become even more significant for these countries as the Earth’s climate changes for the worse. Temperatures are already increasing incrementally, and polar ice caps are melting, so the salient question is: what does this suggest for developing societies? The issue before the developing world is not its lack of food, but rather how to gain access to food. Simply put, changes in our climate are affecting the global food chain, and hence, the living standards of entire populations. Added to this is the fact that food is not getting to where it is needed in time to prevent hunger or starvation. In many developing countries, shortages are due to governments’ control over distribution networks rather than an insufficient supply of food itself. In effect, these governments are weaponizing food by favoring certain ethnic or religious groups over others. When added to dramatic climate changes that we are experiencing even now, the future for billions of poor people looks increasingly dim.write a 5 page persuasive paper for the UN that addresses the following questions about the relationship between atmospheric weather patterns and food security in the developing world: include at least a one-half page introduction and a one-half page conclusion and seven credible sources Climate change and global warming are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same phenomenon. What are the differences between the two concepts and what leads to the confusion between them? In 1900, the average global temperature was about 13.7° Celsius (56.7° Fahrenheit) (Osborn, 2021), but as of 2020, the temperature has risen another 1.2°C to 14.9°C (58.9°F). According to the Earth and climate science community, if the Earth’s surface temperature rises another 2°C (3.6°F), we will suffer catastrophic weather patterns that, among other things, will raise sea levels, cause widespread droughts and wildfires, result in plant, insect, and animal extinctions, and reduce agricultural productivity throughout the world (Mastroianni, 2015 and Lindsey & Dahlman, 2020). How much credibility do you place in these projections? Why? There is no question that the Earth’s food sources are threatened by changes in its weather patterns, but what specific challenges does climate change pose to the food security of people in the developing world? There is currently a debate among some multinational lending agencies like the International Monetary Fund, UNICEF, and AID over the financial support for food security has been misused by recipient government officials. On the other hand, U.S. authorities insist that misuse of its assistance is not occurring because it has strict monitoring oversight in place. What is your position on this matter? Is there evidence that financial assistance to developing governments is being widely misused by government officials?

Touchstone 1: Philosophical Reflection Essay
ASSIGNMENT: Write a 3-4 page (approximately 700-1000 words) reflection essay about the impact of the philosophical mindset and Ancient Greek philosophy on your own views.
In order to foster learning and growth, all essays you submit must be newly written specifically for this course. Any recycled work will be sent back with a 0, and you will be given one attempt to redo the Touchstone.
A. Assignment Guidelines
DIRECTIONS: As reported in Plato’s account The Apology, Socrates famously claimed at his trial that “The unexamined life is not worth living.” In this course, you have had the opportunity to examine your own life and reality through the thoughts of the Ancient Greek philosophers. The purpose of this touchstone assignment is for you (1) to engage with the philosophical ideas presented in this course and (2) to reflect on how these philosophical ideas have impacted your own life.

Part I: Philosophical Thinking
In the first part of the touchstone, you will be distinguishing between the three primary branches of philosophy.

Consider the three following questions:

What is knowledge?
What is reality made of?
What is the good life and how ought I to live it?

These are the basic questions that were considered in different forms by the major figures in Ancient Greek philosophy. But they are also critical questions for our own lives today, whether we are philosophers or not.
Part I of this assignment should be approximately 1-2 pages (300-600 words) and cover each of the following steps:

First, you should define philosophy and then distinguish and define each of the three main branches of philosophy covered in this class.
Then, identify which of the above questions is associated with each branch of philosophy.
You should illustrate the differences between the three branches of philosophy using examples from the course. For example, explain how Socrates would answer the question “What is knowledge?” or how Epictetus would answer the question “What is the good life?”

Part II: Reflection
For the second part of the touchstone, now that you’ve distinguished between the three main branches of philosophy, you will focus on one of those three questions from Part I and use that as a starting point and guide for your personal philosophical reflection.
The purpose of Part II is for you to reflect on the philosophical mindset and some of the ideas presented in this course and apply them to your own life. This reflection is more open-ended than Part I, but should include reflections on the following questions:

What does it mean to think philosophically? How can thinking philosophically help me in my own life?
What impact do the ideas of the Ancient Greek philosophers have on my own views and opinions?
Then, based on these reflections, you should give your own answer to whichever of the three questions from Part I you chose to focus on. (“What is knowledge?”; “What is reality?”; “What is the good life?”)

Part II of this assignment should be approximately 1-2 pages (300-600 words). You should write at least one paragraph for each of the three prompts listed above.
In answering these reflection questions, you are free to draw from your own experiences as well as bringing in the ideas of different Ancient Greek philosophers. Please note: Some philosophers will be more suited for particular questions than others. For example, Epictetus has a lot to say about “What is the good life and how ought I to live it?” while not saying much about knowledge or reality. Plato and Aristotle wrote a great deal about all three questions.
