I never felt I was doing anything wrong.”More than 30 years later, Reinhard Siekaczek, an accountant employed by Siemens who oversaw an annual budget for questionable payments in excess of $50 million, stated:“I never thought I would go to jail for my company. …We thought we had to do it. Teacher Told MeWrite your discussion post in 150 words.THEN, RESPOND TO THESE POST WITH 3-4 SENTENCES#1The war was unlike anything that was seen. Americans were fighting Americans in 10,000 locations and slaves were being auctioned off for sale as if they were pets. It was difficult to watch the video, people were literally being treated as if they were animals. I would not be surprised if the dogs were being fed more than the slaves. The slaves would work for 14 hours or more at times, and this is without being fed properly and they also were being beaten. It is sad to hear that in the wedding vows the slaves added that they will stay faithful to each other until separation. In the civil war 600,000 people died, people that have never gone outside of their town were now in places they never even knew. We are told that after the war was over and the Union won that was when slavery was ended, but people tend to disagree because slavery still exested in some other from. #2“Why We Fight” video made me doubtful about if the military of the U.S. works for purposes other than serving to protect freedom and maintain safety for the American people. The U.S. uses military force for other countries and for benefit politics. Besides, I’ve heard that before about Saddam Hussain and Osama Bin Laden was related to the U.S.; however, I did not know that Saddam Hussain was a CIA asset and Osama Bin Laden trained by the CIA. These are so shocking and disappointing facts. As we know, Saddam Hussain is a dictator found guilty of crimes against humanity, and thousands of people died during Saddam Hussain’s Iraq. Also, Osama bin Laden is known for his role in 9/11. It is truly disappointing that the U.S. has a relation with these brutal people. I can relate now to why the U.S. government hiding so many secrets from the public.

The Constitution gives most of the power and authority of government to Congress, but over the last 200+ years Congress has delegated much of that power to the president. Still, Congress remains the branch responsible for passing legislation, setting the government’s budget, and overseeing the executive branch. This week’s chapter from the textbook gives an overview of how Congress works, including a section on how a bill becomes a law. (If you want the nostalgic cartoon version you can watch it here.) Mayhew provides a vital discussion of what motivates members of Congress, and Fenno examines how Congress members interact with their constituents. Lee discusses how polarization influences congressional parties’ approach to the legislative process, and Sinclair discusses how the actual business of lawmaking differs from the “official” description given in the textbook. The optional textbook chapter covers interest groups; we don’t have a week on lobbying this summer but groups primarily interact with Congress so reading it this week would be appropriate.Questions to consider:What do members of Congress want? How does this influence what they do in the chamber? How and how much does public opinion influence Congress? How are the House and Senate similar to one another, and how are they different? Not just in terms of constitutional differences (2 vs. 6 year terms, etc), but in terms of how the chambers are organized and their approaches to passing legislation.ReadingsLogic of American Politics, Chapter 6 (Chapter 13 optional)David R. 1. Your personal circumstances as related to your financial need for a scholarship ( I will like my financial need to be tied with being the first in my family to attend college and they are all my siblings back home in Africa with my grandparents still alive, coupled with one of the toughest times in my country Nigeria due to inflation, unemployment and high rise of robbery, kidnapping, and terrorism made the whole situation a huge financial burden on me. My wife also has her parents and grandparents. Her father is diabetic and we have to constantly pay for their feeding, medical bills every month which makes it just overwhelming for us here in the United States. We could not fully meet our needs and that of our 3 children due to all of these. I have thought of dropping out of school but I made a promise to myself to break whatever jynx affected my family that I got extremely intelligent elder brothers and sisters but no finances from my father who was the breadwinner of the family until his death and that of my stepmom and my mom the wives were housewives as that’s kind of African thing, especially during their time). You can help straighten up my comprehension style by adding/removing whatever not needed.2. Your academic and career goals (I am in I.T)3. Your current employment and its relationship to your future plans (Windows Tech Administrator but my future career plans is to become a DevOps Engineer (what do you think?))4. Sinful behaviors (economic and otherwise) can be observed in single individuals (slavers, like John Hawkins), groups (colonists supporting, enforcing, and benefiting from slavery), institutions (monarchies and governments benefiting from slavery), companies (East India Company), countries (all colonial powers and cultures benefiting from slavery and/or any form of bondage; British, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, etc.).This is an economics class that evaluates sinful behaviors within the Economy. Do not forget to always strive to see the bigger picture (all possible other aspects and dimensions the problem may entail).Always cite the sources and data provided in the course to support your statements in all your assignments. You can also use supplementary sources if you deem it necessary, but make sure they are properly accredited academic resources (see Information Literacy folder on the left column for further information). Discussion – After reviewing the materials available to you this week, respond to the following questions:Watch the video above explaining what macroeconomics and microeconomics are and post one example of sinful behavior in a macroeconomics context and one from a microeconomics context that you may have experienced or come across in your life. What was the motivation for these behaviors? (Make sure to refer to the Motivation Theory that applies in each case. Follow the video about Motivation Theories to identify which ones apply to your examples). What were the consequences of the sinful behaviors described in your examples? What, if anything, could change the behavior?Using the short reading expanding on the Incentive Theory provided above, post an example of a financial incentive you have received either as a costumer or as an employee. Did the incentive work in this case?
